Super Eagles To Play Italy In Friendly Game In London

The Super Eagles will take on Italy in London on Nov. 18 in an international friendly, the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) said on Sunday.

Ademola Olajire, NFA's Assistant Director (Media), said in a statement that the match would be part of the African champions preparations for the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals.

The News agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Eagles had on Sunday beaten the Walya Antelopes of Ethiopia 2-1 in Addis Ababa.

The match was the first leg match of their final qualifying round for the World Cup, and the second leg game is scheduled for Calabar on Nov. 16.

The statement said the match was put together by the NFA and its Match Agent, Jairo Pachon of Eurodata Sport.

The match is scheduled for Fulham's Craven Cottage, with kick-off time fixed for 7.45 p.m.

The statement also said a match had been arranged for the Super Eagles' home team against Jordan in Omman on Oct. 28.

It said the match would help Jordan prepare for their 2014 World Cup play-off match against Uruguay, and also help Nigeria prepare for next year's African Nations Championship (CHAN).
