Late James Odibo
Coursemates of the deceased who lamented the unfortunate incident described Late James as a loving and playful fellow.

One of his friends (and probably an eyewitness) who took to their class Whatsapp group said the incident was quite unfortunate and could have been avoided.

According to him, he (James) and his team have been visiting the river for 3days. For some weird reasons, he decided to venture deep inside the river, which he eventually drowned.

“It is just crazy why one would decide to swim in one of the biggest River in Nigeria, a highly diabolic one for that matter”, he lamented.

“It was just sudden. He just went down, no struggle, no shout.

“Local fishermen found his body two hours after the incident”, he added.

The body of late James has since been deposited in Madonna Hospital, Makurdi, Premium Times reports.

Until his death, James was a 200level student of the department of Medical Laboratory Science, school of Basic Medical Sciences, University of Benin.

Unconfirmed reports has it that James was born Twin. His twin brother who was said to have collapsed on hearing the ugly incident, is currently recuperating at the hospital.

Delectable Yoruba Actress, Feyisara Hassan, 24, has categorically stated that being a babymama is better than being a wife. She says she believes being a babymama is good, and more peaceful than being a wife.

She made this declaration in an Interview with Vanguard.

Excerpts Below:

Many Yoruba actresses are babymamas; what can make you become a babymama?

What most people don’t know is that being a babymama is even better than being a wife. Frankly, I am not against any woman opting to be a babymama, in fact I believe it is good and more peaceful. Being a babymama you enjoy the father of your baby more than if he were your husband.

You can have access to him whenever and wherever you want without any family pressures or restrictions. When you are a wife, there are limitations and restrictions and there’s little room for heartaches. More women are opting to be babymamas because their lives are more peaceful and enjoyable.

Feyisara also revealed she’s not a fan of wearing bra.

You once said you don’t wear bra, can you explain why?

Yes, I don’t wear bras because I don’t feel comfortable with it but I do wear it now because my man is not comfortable with my not wearing it. I guess it is because of my sexy boobs.

But they are not big?

They may not be big but they are very special. They are one of the most beautiful parts I love in my body. Medium boobs are sexy and more attractive than the big ones. All kinds of boobs are good though but mine are more attractive and sexy.

What’s your take on sex generally?

In my opinion and experience, sex is best experienced within a committed relationship where two people have agreed to be exclusive with each other and to explore their sexualities together.

This doesn’t have to be within marriage. However, in my opinion, relationships should not exist solely to provide a means for sex. Relationships should be a beautiful tapestry, of which sex is one piece. And within that relationship, sex should only exist with an incredible amount of communication.

The communication should be about when people are ready for different stages of sex, what people like and dislike in sex, and at the core of all this communication should be consent.

Our society talks about and does consent very poorly (which is why we have such a high rate of sexual violence).

Reports going rounds claims that the Lagos State Government is set to prosecute Mercy Aigbe’s Husband, Lanre Gentry over Alleged Battery as the government have begun investigations into the matter.

According to findings, Mercy, mother of 2, has dragged her husband, Lanre to the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs for investigation and prosecution over alleged battery and assault.

A top official revealed that the case has been brought to the attention of the body; stressing it is a matter of urgency due to the mandate given to the ministry by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to crack down on domestic violence especially against women.

“Truely, the case is with us here. It was reported here by the victim herself, and because of the governor’s zero tolerance for domestic violence, we are as a matter of urgency investigating the whole drama.
It is a good thing that it has also been brought to the public eye. We’re still very much on top of the matter and we’ll get it to its logical conclusion,” he said.

Details of how the embattled Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency hid the $43m found recently at a private apartment on Osborne Street, Ikoyi, Lagos, from both the President and the National Security Adviser are emerging just as the Presidential Committee set up to investigate the matter and certain financial allegations against the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation gets on its final stretch.

While Mr. Ayo Oke, the suspended DG of the NIA is widely reported to have claimed that the current National Security Adviser General Babagana Munguno is aware of the existence of the money, authoritative government sources said last night that what actually happened "is significantly different from that claim."

An official source who pleaded for anonymity explained that in the first instance, Oke did not brief the NSA at all about the existence of such funds-$289M- or the projects they were meant for when the Buhari administration took office in May 2015, even though the money had been released in March the same year.

The NSA office, it was learnt, only got its first knowledge of the existence of such funds during the work of the presidential committee that audited the Defense Equipment Procurement in the Armed Forces. The Committee had observed certain payments from the CBN to the NIA and raised questions drawing the attention of the NSA.

When the suspended DG of the NIA discovered that that Committee was raising questions and to forestall the NSA from "blowing the cover," he then gave his first report to the NSA on the existence of such funds and warned that the Committee's job does not cover the activities or the spendings of the NIA.

A top government source narrated thus:

"The Presidential Committee on Audit of Defense Equipment Procurement, in the course of its assignment came across information that the NIA received a huge sum of money in early 2015 from the former President. Based on this the NSA carried out a preliminary investigation during which the NIA claimed the money was released for some projects aimed at commencing the Agency's 30th anniversary. This was in January 2017."

The source added that subsequently, "a team was constituted" to ascertain the situation. The first suspicion of a potential abuse was noticed at this stage, according to sources, especially considering the amount of money involved and the purposes stated.

"This was how the NSA and the Presidency learnt of the existence of such funds. We were not told by anyone in NIA until the Committee saw something, and raised a red flag,” the sources noted.

However, when the embattled NIA top spy was now compelled to explain what was happening, "he still did not inform anyone in the Federal Government or presidency that he kept $43m of the said funds in cash at a private apartment anywhere in Lagos or any part of the country," it was added.

A top official in the know observed "this is the issue: the NSA was not told that NIA had this lump cash stashed away in the place it was eventually discovered by EFCC. In any case, extant rules are clear that such monies ought only to be placed in the NIA headquarters or in CBN vaults.”

There are also instances where CBN actually paid out some of the funds directly to some NIA contractors, raising questions why the suspended NIA needed to put aside such huge cash in a private apartment.

It was also learned that the projects for which the former President approved the funds totaling $289m included two in Lagos whose cost were put at about $28m, which is way less than the $43m cash found in the Ikoyi apartment. Sources explained further that as at January this year, funds for the Lagos projects had actually been released to the tune of $18m, meaning only about $10m was left to be paid four months ago before $43m was found in the Lagos apartment recently.

Said one official source: "So let us even assume that the NIA DG wanted to keep funds in Lagos for the Lagos based projects, he did not need that much for the total of the Lagos projects at all. And apart from that it is completely untenable to stash away agency money in a private apartment instead of keeping it with the CBN or inside the NIA head office where the money would be well-secured and its disbursement well protected. "

Minister of Transportation and immediate past Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, said this in an interview with Channels TV. When asked whether he is corrupt, Amaechi said;
"Is my honesty in doubt? I have told Nigerians and I repeat to Nigerians today I am not corrupt and I don't like money. I am not one swayed by money. I have lived a character that most Nigerians can tell you.
I try as much as possible not to annoy God by saying I am honest. But with all modesty, I am a honest Nigerian and there are very few honest Nigerians." On why people keep having the impression that he's corrupt, Amaechi replied; "When did that impression start? Nyesom Wike becomes the governor. He takes documents from Government house that people cant read, and says oh, we sold Gas turbines and disappeared with the money. He set up a panel of inquiry? Publish the report." When asked whether he thinks the corruption angle came because he led the campaign organization of President Buhari, "When you talk about the PDP angle, they are bitter that we fought and led the movement against the former government and PDP, and we were successful to have removed them from power. If I was corrupt, why didn't President Goodluck prosecute me? The fight between Goodluck and Rivers state government or myself lasted for two years, Amaechi said:

Popular CNN presenter, Richard Quest of Quest Means Business has been in Lagos, Nigeria on a media tour for the past few days. In some tweets shared via his page, he described Nigerian Youths in glowing terms and how people are succeeding despite the government's shortcomings. According to him;

"There's no shortage of entrepreneurs in Nigeria. No shortage of drive or ambition. People are succeeding inspite of the government not because of it. The youth of Nigeria are the country's secret weapon. I've been impressed with the young people I've met here. Nigeria will have the largest, most intelligent work force in the world, but needs to get its act together."

The internet went into shock yesterday after it was revealed that actress, Mercy Aigbe and her husband, Lanre Gentry's marriage has crashed on grounds of domestic abuse. Lanre allegedly beat Mercy up in a nasty fight they had last week and she's still hospitalized with severe injuries.

After the news broke, Lanre Gentry has been defending himself on Instagram. In new comments shared minutes ago, the Lagos based hotelier further denied the domestic abuse violence allegations, saying his wife, Mercy, wouldn't stay in the same house with him for years if he beats her everyday and the photos of her face all battered is merely makeup.
The beating actually took place Easter Sunday at their home and not on the set of a movie!

It was a hell of a fight as Nigerian born British boxer, Anthony Joshua defeated 41 year old veteran, Wladimir Klitschko in the 11th round of one of the greatest boxing bout in recent times.

Joshua won the fight in the 11th round with a vicious uppercut that put his opponent on the floor, followed by a right cross. A brutal left hook knocked Wladimir down a second time then a crisp combo finished the old warrior in the corner and Klitschko went out on his shield.

Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, has denied snubbing the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi at a public function some days ago. A video made rounds on social media showing the Oba of Lagos acknowledging the greeting of the Ooni of Ife in an unfriendly manner

Many Nigerians reacted to the video, calling out the Oba for being "rude" to the Ooni who is believed to be the most superior monarch in Yoruba land.

Speaking through one of his white cap chiefs, Lateef Aderibigbe Ajose, the Lagos Monarch said he did not ignore the Ooni of Ife at the public function as being interpreted by many Nigerians. Lateef who spoke to newsmen at the palace of the Oba in Lagos, said the manner in which the Oba greeted the Ooni is the culturally acclaimed way of greeting by a monarch in Lagos and that the Oba of Lagos was only trying to revive that culture which according to him is going extinct.
“The sign by Oba Akiolu signifies, ‘inu mi, inu e’, the culture of greeting in Lagos. If Oba Akiolu wanted to ignore, he would have turned his face away from Ooni. There is no misunderstanding between both highly revered Monarchs in Yoruba Land. Oba Akiolu was well represented at the coronation of Ooni of Ife, which attested to the fact that he does not disregard the office of Ooni Adeyeye. There is no sentiment in the culture of Lagos. As we met it that is the way we are doing it. Kabiesi Oba Akiolu is trying to bring back the old pattern, the old culture we have left behind. What happened that day was wrongly speculated by the social media to disrupt peace and order and misinterpret Oba Akiolu’s action. We just want to appeal to the social media to stop spreading wrong information. They should try and understand the reason behind every action carried out most especially by traditional rulers. Yoruba has a very rich culture. There is no quarrel between the Oba of Lagos and Ooni of Ife” he said

Trust Nigerians, this post really got them and they're already reacting to it;

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has said there is no bone of contention between him and the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaehi.

Rather, Jonathan stated that Amaechi had a problem with his wife, Patience, which he (Jonathan) tried in vain to resolve.

Jonathan’s disclosed this in a book titled, ‘Against the Run of Play,’ written by the Chairman, Editorial Board of ThisDay, Olusegun Adeniyi.

“Jonathan told me that Amaechi’s problem was not with him but rather with his wife and that, at a point, he tried to reconcile them,” the book stated.

While Amaechi admitted that he was at loggerheads with Patience, he said Jonathan was not saying the whole truth, noting that there were also disagreements between him and Jonathan, during the latter’s era as the President.

The ex-Rivers State governor attributed the cause of his grudge with Jonathan to illegal and excess deduction from the federation account by the former president.

He said, “I could not surrender my mandate to a woman (Patience) in Abuja, even if such a person was the wife of the President…that basically was my sin with Dame Patience Jonathan.

“If in one year, you took about N300bn from the federation account to pay for subsidy and the next year, you are taking almost N2tn for the same thing when fundamentals had not changed, then serious questions should be asked.

“And as NGF (Nigerian Governors Forum) chairman, it was my responsibility to ask those questions and Jonathan took them personal.”

The palace of the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has reacted to the humiliating treatment meted out to him by the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, at a public function in Lagos on Tuesday.

A video of the incident which went virile on social media showed the Lagos monarch refusing to shake hands with the Ooni, who arrived the venue of the event while guests were already seated.

The Ooni, on entering the hall, went straight to greet traditional rulers, but Oba Akiolu shunned him and with a wave of the hand, gestured his rejection of the Ooni’s greetings.

The Ooni however, took the incident with calm and took his seat on the same roll where the traditional ruler was seated.

Speaking with PremiumTimes on the development, the Head of Palace Directorate of Tourism, Awoyemi Tunde, said the Ooni of Ife was not losing sleep over the issue.

“It is not a slap on the Ooni of Ife but rather a slap on the Oba of Lagos,” he said. “The stool of Oba of Lagos was founded by Olofin Ogunfunminire and the Ooni of Ife is the Oba of Yoruba land.

“The Oba of Lagos has to come to terms with the fact that Ooni is the royal father of Yoruba land, it is necessary that all persons come together to unite Yoruba land but really the issue at the event is very condemnable”.

Mr. Tunde also said that the Oba of Lagos risked the wrath of the ‘Alale'(Ancestors), as a result of his disrespect for the superior monarch.

“God gave Ooni of Ife Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the mandate to unite the Yoruba land and nothing will stop him from doing that,” he added.

According to Mr. Tunde, reactions from different Yoruba communities would continue to pour in to denounce the action of the Lagos monarch.

“If we don’t receive an apology especially with the image of Ile-Ife, we will call on the ancestors on the issue,” he said.

The Nigeria Police Force has said it recovered money in both local and foreign currencies during a search on the Abuja residence of Senator Danjuma Goje of Gombe state, including other documents subject of ongoing investigation.

The police said cash sum of ₦18,056,000; cash sum of $19,850 and another cash sum of SR9, 400 Saudi Riyal, including other document were recovered from the house.

However, the Police spokesman CSP Jimoh Moshood in a statement on Thursday said the search warrant executed on Senator Goje’s House has nothing to do with the 2017 budget.

Moshood argued that reports in the media credited to Senator Danjuma Abdullahi Goje captioned “Blame the Police if 2017 Budget is not Ready Senator Goje” “REPS gives Police 24 hours to return budget documents allegedly carted from Goje’s residence,” are false and misleading.

The report, Moshood said is capable of misinforming Nigerians about the statutory roles and duties of the Nigeria Police Force as provided under Sections 4 & 28 of Police Act and Regulations.

He said its powers includes prevention and detection of crime, the apprehension of offenders, the preservation of law and order, the protection of life and property and the due enforcement of all laws and regulations, and authority to enter any house or premises to execute search warrant.

He added that: “It is pertinent to set the record straight and inform Nigerians of the facts of the matter. A search warrant duly obtained from court of competent jurisdiction was professionally executed in the house of Senator Danujma Goje on 20thApril, 2017 at No. 10 Haile Salasie Street, Asokoro District Abuja.”

He explained that the search was subsequent upon intelligence report at the disposal of the Force that large sum of money suspected to be stolen public funds and other incriminating items are about to be moved out of the said house.

He said: “It is worthy of note that on arrival of the Police team to Senator Danjuma Goje’s house, the house keeper Ango Usman informed the Senator of the presence and mission of the team and he promised coming but later switched off his phone.”

“The search warrant was successfully executed in the presence of three close relatives of Senator Danjuma Goje who are residing in the house and the recoveries were made in their presence,” he said.

He added that, “The three relatives listed below opened the house and took the Police team round the building, and endorsed their signatures after the completion of the search as required by the procedure of law on search warrant which contained the money, documents and Laptop recovered, and none of the items include 2017 budget document. This is available for inspection by any interested members of the public.”

The police said Danjuma Mohammed, a master Degree holder from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and a Chartered Quantity Surveyor is a nephew to Senator Danjuma Goje, Ango Usman, House keeper to Senator Danjuma Goje and Aisha Umar, Alias Iklima a step daughter to the Senator Danjuma Goje were the witness who signed after the completion of the search.

Moshood said: “For avoidance of doubt, the followings are the sum of money both in local and foreign currencies, vital documents and a Laptop recovered for investigation when the search warrant was executed in the house of Senator Danjuma Goje.”

The police said cash sum of ₦18,056,000; cash sum of $19,850 and another cash sum of SR9, 400 Saudi Riyal, including other document were recovered from the house.

The items recovered were 38 files and six envelopes containing documents, which include a file on funds spent on security administration and information gathering– a-g – 2009, file on release of funds for special operations a- f - 2009.”

Some items include, “file on Gombe State Government of Nigeria Cash inflow 2005, file on Project 2007 – Executive Briefs on how to fight opposition in Gombe State, strategies and tactics and envelopes containing permit to operate as an oil industry service company (special categories) 2011.”

Others are: “A file containing write-ups on how Governor Shekarau plotted the assassination of Sheikh Jafaru and Letters from Alhaji Mohammed Danjuma Goje (Sarkin Yakin Gombe) to the MD LUBELL Nigeria Ltd of proposed residential Devt at Kashere Phase II dated 16/01/2007 and 19/11/2010.”

Moshood said no single document relating to 2017 budget was sighted or removed by the Police team that executed the search warrant adding that there is video recording of the execution of the search warrant.

He also said the IGP honoured the invitation of the National Assembly on 26th April, 2017 to explain the legality of the search warrant that was executed in the house of Senator Danjuma Goje on the 20th of April, 2017.

He said, “Further investigation is currently ongoing into the matter. Police actions are in line with the provisions of Sec. 4 & 28 of Police Act and Regulations… and consistent with Sec. 9 & 144 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015.”

200 students of Covenant University, Ota, Ogun state have been suspended for not attending the schools’ Easter “Youth Alive” programme. The Punch Reports.

Parents and students have expressed their displeasure describing the decision as unjust. They claim the rules of their admission never stated that it was compulsory for them to attend the programmed organized by the institution.

A 400-level student of the institution who spoke on the matter, said,

“We were going for the services in the morning and night and people were getting tired of it because we were also preparing for exams. So, the Vice-Chancellor got angry and ordered that those who missed the services be sanctioned.

“Some were suspended for four weeks and those who had missed eight services for the four days got a year.”

Another 300-level student, said, “The mood in school is really tense. Though students are not protesting but they are angry because you are preparing for an exam you’re not sure you will sit for, until the paper starts.

“They stopped me from sitting for a paper last week because I did not go for a service and I don’t know if I will be allowed in today either.”

A concerned parent who registered her displeasure said the punishment especially for final year students was not commiserate with the offences committed.

The Lagos State Government on Monday said it raked in N436.328 billion in 2016 as internal revenue, about 10 per cent more than what it generated in 2015.

Consistent with its 2017 Appropriation Act, the state government said it would soon approach the capital market to raise N100 billion from the N500 billion bond programme it initiated in December 2016.

The State Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Akinyemi Ashade, gave the figure at a news conference he addressed at Alausa on Monday alongside his Information and Strategy counterpart, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, and the state’s Accountant-General, Mrs. Abimbola Umar, among others.

At the conference, Ashade said the sum of N436.328 billion the administration of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode generated in 2016 exceeded what was generated in 2015.

In 2016, Ashade said the existing strategic financial management framework of the state’s resources was steadfastly sustained and this resulted in steady improvement of the state’s revenue.
He noted that total revenue of N436.328 billion “was realised in the 2016 compared to N399.382 billion in 2015. In relative terms, the revenue performance was N36.946 billion more when compared with the year 2015.“Total Internally Generated Revenue for the year 2016 was N312.820 billion which represents 75 per cent of the projection and 72 per cent of total revenue, compared with N247.946 billion, representing 80 percent of the projection and 69 per cent of total revenue for 2015.”

Ashade added that the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) revenue for 2016 was put at N247.022 billion, representing 80 percent of the estimate, 79 per cent of total IGR and 57 per cent of total revenue.
When compared with 2015, Ashade said the state generated N225.041 billion, which he said, represented 81 per cent of the estimate, 79 per cent of IGR and 56 per cent of total revenue for the year 2015.

Speaking on the state’s land use charge (LUC), Ashade explained the dynamism the state had brought into the expansion of land use charge in the last one year, noting that more payment channels were introduced to cater for the large number of people that needed to pay the charge.

In some cases, he banks were encouraged to establish their presence at tax and revenue centres, including LUC centres to reduce incidence of cash transaction and attendant frauds that might arose.
He said the innovations and public awareness campaigns adopted by government had drastically increased the state’s LUC revenue generation from N6.156 billion in 2015 to N7.156 billion in 2016, disclosing that in the first quarter of 2017, LUC collections stood N3.99 billion.

However, Ashade said the LUC Assessment Appeal Tribunal, which he said the state government set up to address diverse issues that might arise, would continue “to give opportunity to the public to resolve LUC issues by mediation instead of going to regular courts.

“In the year under review, the tribunal treated over 500 cases. 195 of those cases were resolved amicably and payments made immediately by the property owners, while the others which involved minor amendments to the bills were also resolved amicably,” he explained.

On the Lagos State Bond Issuance Programme, the commissioner explained that the state government had continued “to utilise the domestic capital markets to raise funds in line with its vision of using sustainable budgetary deficit arrangements to grow the state’s GDP.

“In line with our medium to long term finance strategy, the N500 billion bond programme was established in December 2016 with the N47 billion bond being its first tranche raised from the capital market.
“We are at an advanced stage in line with the 2017 appropriation law to approach the capital market for issuance of N100 billion bond in series 11 through book building subject to regular provisions.

“While the state government is pursuing the N500 billion bond programmes, it has continued to ensure a strong and healthy debt sustainability regime leading to improved local and international ratings for the state and its debt instruments. In February 2017, Fitch Ratings (an international ratings agency) affirmed the long-term national rating at “AA+” with a stable outlook.

Akolade Arowolo, a youth pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, who killed his banker wife, Titilayo, with 73 other inmates of the Kirikiri Maximum Prisons, yesterday, sought pardon under the Lagos State Prerogative on Mercy conferred on the Governor, claiming they are reformed and should be pardoned.

Akolade, who was sentenced to death by an Ikeja high court three years ago after he was found guilty of his wife’s murder on June 24, 2011, was seen in prison, pleading that he needs another chance to right his wrongs.

His pleading came as the Committee on Prerogative on Mercy said that the state will not fail to exercise its prerogative on prisoners, who proved to be reformed. Arowolo was among 74 prisoners called out by the committee, led by Professor Oyelowo Oyewo, set up by the governor to review their applications.

The committee was on a fact-finding visit to the prisons to have first hand information from the inmates that are eligible for mercy and pardon.

Arowolo, who delivered a remark on behalf of his fellow inmates, pleaded for mercy, stressing that they are all remorseful and have learned from their mistakes.

Chairman of the committee, Oyelowo, said the governor will act on the committee’s recommendations based on the rules and guidelines set by law for the committee to conduct its work.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi has put our minds to rest that there shall be no duel or war following the open ridicule he received from the Oba of Lagos Rilwan Akiolu!

The 42 year old Oba Ogunwusi told this to some news men who made inquiries after the incident.

According to the Ooni of Ife, the older King's act would not even stop him from his mission of promoting unity amongst Yoruba rulers. The humble monarch says he will not rest until he achieves his aim of unity.

On what he feels about the public ridicule, Ooni of Ife says it would not stop him from giving respect to the Oba of Lagos whenever and wherever their paths cross.

The foremost ruler also reveals that he was not perturbed by the snobbish greeting, hence he would not want Akiolu to be castigated because of his position and age.

He concludes that despite his act, he will continue to hold Akiolu of Lagos in high esteem.

Agungi and head  to South Africa. So as usual she went into the compound and asked him (driver ) to give her few minutes.
By the time they came out he was no where to be found and he sent her a text saying he drove off to the nearby
mosque to pee and he was coming right back but that was the end of the show before they realized he was gone for good.

Mo has been using the guy since she travelled down to Nigeria and she's a very nice and generous lady.

She saw the guy as a young and cool guy and showed support to encourage his hustle. Mo would give this guy
50 percent of whatever her fare came to and just last week she said he drove her to Balogun or was
it Ogba and in the process someone picked his iPhone 5 and she had to give him 75k to get a new phone
but he didn't get an iPhone but at least he got a phone with an internet to sort his Uber directory and all.

she gets him food at every outing and made him comfortable.
So, it was after the story went viral that his neighbor on the mainland alerted Mo through her
DM TO COME TO a particular address on the mainland. Then the neighbors alerted others to use cars to
block the taxi so as for him not to be able to drive out because already he had packed his stuff.
That's they were able to arrest him.

THE SERIES OF TEXT MESSAGES FROM BETWEEN UBER DRIVER AND MO

Instead of swearing and cussing him out, Mo ticked him into a conversation whilst the search
went on, very smart move.

Joseph revealed that many ladies sent requests to him, that they wanted to be his ‘Oloris’ thinking he was genuine, and this was how he was able to defraud some of them.

“But in our chats, I told them that they have to pay some money if they are really interested in being my Oloris. Two of them based in the U.S fell for the scam and sent some money totalling N600,000 to me through money transfer mode" he said.

He went further to disclose that the ladies were really desperate, as some of them sent nude pictures, showing their breasts and private parts. Joseph, however, said one of ladies had demanded that he should buy her a N45m house for her.

But Joseph said he told her that she had to pay N5m out of the amount and he would make up the balance for her. He was still waiting for that N5m last Wednesday before the police swooped on his residence and arrested him.

Reacting to this, the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, said Joseph had been using his Facebook and Whatsapp accounts to dupe unsuspecting members of the public. Joseph said he opened the Facebook account October last year, purposely to defraud people.

The National Security Adviser, Maj-Gen. Babagana Munguno (rtd) has began work on a template for the discovery and recovery of illegal weapons through a reward system.
Malam Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, confirmed this development in a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday.
According to the presidential spokesman, the Office of National Security Adviser (ONSA) is adopting the whistle-blowing approach so as to eradicate mass shooting incidents and remove the harassment of law abiding citizens by holders of illegal weapons.
He said the proposed adoption of the whistle-blowing policy on illegal weapons by the Federal Government followed the success of the policy in the recovery of huge amount of questionable and stolen funds by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Shehu, therefore, said the presidency had started drawing up the rules of a whistle-blower mechanism to throw a spotlight on the regime of gun ownership and control as a bold move to prevent and eradicate illegal ownership of small arms and light weapons in the country.
He said that this would be a sort of searchlight on weapons ownership in the country, adding that the aim was to disarm communities especially those with proclivity to violence.
“In the last few days, we had discussed the efforts the administration is making to strengthen the whistle-blower mechanism in the Ministry of Finance, which to date has proved to be very effective in bringing the attention of the government to stolen assets and unexplained wealth.
“The ONSA initiative may be an independent line of inquiry or in active collaboration with what the government is doing in Finance. This will be a sort of searchlight on weapons ownership in the country.
“Whatever form or shape it takes, the administration wants to take a tough line to curtail the large number of illegal weapons in circulation used in intra and inter-communal conflicts,’’ he said.
Shehu disclosed that the ONSA had already inaugurated a committee saddled with the responsibility of the recovery of small arms and light weapons in the country
The blowing policy, which has been approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) is meant to expose fraud and other related crimes in both the public and the private sectors.
The policy was devised by the Ministry of Finance aimed at encouraging anyone with information about a violation, misconduct or improper activity that impacts negatively on Nigerians and government to report it.
“If there is a voluntary return of stolen or concealed public funds or assets on the account of the information provided, the whistle blower may be entitled to anywhere between 2.5 per cent (minimum) and 5.0 per cent (maximum) of the total amount recovered,’’ Minister of finance Kemi Adeosun said.
The policy has recorded appreciable success as it has led to the discovery of billions of Naira in the last few months since it started.
