A 26 - year - old student of Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo, Johnbosco Ashiegbu, and 34-year - old Chinonso Ewurum, have been arrested by operatives of Special Anti -Robbery Squad in Imo State for allegedly stealing two vehicles.

The police claimed that the vehicles stolen by Ashiegbu and Ewurum included a N 19m Hilux van belonging to the Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, adding that the suspects sold the vehicle to one Nnamdi Ejinkeonye in Onitsha for N 300,000.

The other vehicle , a Toyota Camry, the police said , was stolen by the suspects in the Imo Housing Estate axis of Owerri, where it was parked by its owner.

The Toyota Camry, valued at N 3.9m , was said to have also been sold to Ejinkeonye for N 350,000.

The undergraduate , who hails from the Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State , told our correspondent that he took to the crime so as to raise money to “sort out my results in school. ”

He said, “ My desire to sort out my results in school led me into crime. After arranging my results in school , I used the remaining money to live a good life and to take care of my girlfriend. ”

He explained that while he got N 30,000 from the sale of the Hilux owned by the government, he realised N 285 , 000 from the sale of the Toyota Camry.

A police source, who spoke to Southern City News on condition of anonymity, said the suspects were notorious for using fabricated keys to open peoples’ cars, which they usually sold at Onitsha Market .

The source said, “A team of federal SARS operatives led by its commander, Godfrey Victor, a Superintendent of Police, rounded up the suspects in their houses in Owerri when information about their criminal operation had been gathered. ”

The source said police investigation showed that the suspects sold the government ’s Hilux van worth N19m and the Toyota Camry worth N3.9m to Ejinkeonye who was introduced to them by one Nzube.

The police source said, “ Chinonso and Nzube are brothers. The gang is a deadly one. Because they have a waiting buyer, they sell at any amount as long as you are ready to buy in cash.

“ We are closing in on Nnamdi and Nzube. We will soon arrest them and bring them to justice . They cannot run too far. ”

Ewurum, who is an indigene of Okija in Anambra State, said he participated in the stealing of the Toyota Camry and got N 25,000 from the proceeds but denied partaking in the stealing of the government Hilux van.

He said that his younger brother was paid N15,000 for bringing Ejinkeonye, who bought the vehicle.

The police source said the identity card of the undergraduate and the master key used in stealing vehicles were recovered as exhibits.

Confirming the development, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Chris Ezike, said that the introduction of the whistle -blowing policy of his command and Owerri City Policing initiative were part of the measures to curb crimes in the state.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been given a five-match ban following his red card in Real Madrid's Spanish Super Cup first leg 3-1 win over Barcelona.

The Portugal international was ordered off after picking up two yellow cards, one for taking his shirt off after putting Real 2-1 ahead with 10 minutes remaining, and a second for diving after referee Ricardo De Burgos Bengoetxea ruled that he had tried to win a penalty when challenged by Samuel Umtiti.

However, Ronaldo reacted angrily and appeared to push Bengoetxea after receiving his second yellow card just two minutes after scoring and picking up his first caution, and the Spanish football federation (RFEF) has now handed Ronaldo a five-match ban - one for the double booking and another four for pushing the official.

Pending an appeal, the 32-year-old's ban will start with the Super Cup second leg against Barcelona on Wednesday, live on Sky Sports.

He will then miss La Liga fixtures away at Deportivo, at home to Valencia and Levante and then away at Real Sociedad.

Real boss Zinedine Zidane branded Ronaldo's second yellow card as "ludicrous".

He said: "I'm annoyed that Cristiano Ronaldo was sent off, it might not have been a penalty, but still, giving him a card is ludicrous.

"Let's see if we can make arrangements for him to be available on Wednesday. I am truly proud of my players, they played well as 10 and really wanted the win. Now we turn our attentions to the return leg and we need to relax."

Real Madrid went on to win the game 3-1 thanks to Marco Asensio's late strike.

always tackled Nigerian Pastors, has slammed Pastor Adeboye.

According to Daddy Freeze, the ban has no spiritual backing. Here's what he wrote;

"Dear Pastor Adeboye, kindly show me, with scriptural backing, what a 'Godly' wedding practice is.

While we are at this, let's keep it in perspective, that the only wedding Jesus attended in the Bible, had alcoholic wine, while the RCCG forbids alcoholic wine.

If Jesus attended a Godly wedding that had alcohol, and RCCG considers alcohol 'ungodly', I wonder what the basis is, for differentiating between the Godly and the ungodly for the RCCG and upon this assertion, the leadership of the #FreeTheSheeple movement hereby challenges the leadership of the RCCG to a biblical debate titled 'What is a Godly wedding'
God bless us all! ~FRZ"

Romelu Lukaku haunted West Ham United yet again as he netted twice on his Premier League debut for a rampant Manchester United in a 4-0 win on Sunday.

Lukaku netted either side of half-time before Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba completed the scoring against slow-starting West Ham, who lost their opening Premier League game of the season for the 11th time.

The Belgian striker, who cost United £90m this summer from Everton, has now scored 11 times in his last 11 league appearances against the Hammers.

United's main problem last season was scoring at Old Trafford as they managed just 26, which was two less than relegated Hull City. Lukaku was snapped up to improve that tally and took just 33 minutes to introduce himself to his adoring crowd.

Marcus Rashford - lively throughout - sprinted at the heart of the West Ham back four and slipped a delightful ball through to the Belgian, who smashed a first-time effort past Joe Hart via the inside of the post.

Lukaku didn't have to wait long until after the break to double his league tally. Mkhitaryan clipped a free-kick into the box from the left and Lukaku rose ahead of his marker Arthur Masuaku, who seemed to be sharing a joke with the striker before the ball was played in, to glance home from eight yards out.

West Ham almost replied instantly when Edmilson Fernandes' cross found Marko Arnautovic, who got the wrong side of Daley Blind, but his header was tipped onto the crossbar by David de Gea. That was as good as it got for the visitors as they struggled to get former United man Javier Hernandez into the game on his full debut.

For some time now, many analysts and pundits of the Nigerian movie industry have hailed the new breed of filmmakers and their improved ways of telling stories as the future of Nollywood. However, a silent group of producers seem to have struck gold in making soft porn, and it is booming.

I am sure by now you may have seen some Nollywood movie preview on YouTube with a very alluring thumbnail that tempts you to click and watch. When you click to watch you would usually see a teaser with a seeming plot that ends with a steamy sex scene; and an announcement that ‘if you want to see the full video or raw behind the scenes footage email or call/WhatsApp some specific numbers’.

But it does not end there. When you contact them, you’re given a price and bank account details to pay to, in order to receive the titles you hope to see sent to your email. Some producers also point you to a website where you can pay an amount to subscribe and watch these titles.

These movies are usually of low quality, with little or no storyline but a lot of nudity and dry humping. But sometimes things get more explicit as some titles go even further to show real intercourse.

After digging around, I found out that one of the producers of such movies was a familiar face in Nollywood and the Nigerian entertainment sector. In confidence of not revealing his real name (and of course paying to see a number of his movies), he agreed to allow me to interview him regarding what many would term his immoral and evil new direction.

The producer and director of many such titles under the NollyFun TV belt, revealed that the phenomenon has not been entirely new, and it only satisfies a demand to see sex by many Nigerians and viewers globally.

“I went into soft porn not intentionally. When a romantic scene from a Nollywood movie I produced was extracted and uploaded on a porn site with my contacts, fans started calling and demanding for more, and that’s how we started,” he explains

So who are the people who patronize such videos? According to the producer, “foreign people appreciate us a lot for bringing such productions to Africa, some Nigerians buy and appreciate us too, while some are stubborn and choose to talk us out of it.”

So in a region where morality is a big thing, how easy is it to find actors willing to strip down and engage in such scenes? From the selection of titles I saw from the NollyFunTV producers, it appears he keeps a constant male actor and a few actresses on rotation. I wanted to interview his actors but with little success.

He said, “It’s a big challenge to produce such movies; you hardly get a good cast for it, especially females. Most of the calls we received so far are from males that want to join; we hardly get calls from women to join. So it’s always tasking to get new cast to produce such movies in Nigeria.”

This is not the case for every producer in the field; some do get a variety of people for casting; a variety of cast that are sometimes willing to take it a notch further from soft porn to hardcore porn. Datkindboy and Freeman, from Freethinkers Production belong to that group of bold and daring producers.

Freethinkers have been using porn sharing sites to promote their productions in a similar way as their soft porn counterparts. But have now launched their NaijaRawPorn portal to serve their growing fan base, and of course make money.

I also had the chance to speak to the producers and some of their actors to find out why they decided to enter such a trade. They didn’t beat about the bush regarding the financial motive behind their venture.

“The porn industry is a multi billion project world wide, so we decided to let Nigeria/Africa benefit from it also. Our productions cost above 200,000 Naira ($550) per movie, and the returns have been fair so far. There is definitely a high demand for African porn out there as people are getting tired if western porn, African porn is the next big thing. People from all over the world have been showing massive support and interest since we began. Which is a motivation for us to continue.”

FreeThinkers Production has managed to gain over 10million fans/viewers around world from their Xvideos channel and Twitter account, and this could translate into huge revenues for them, therefore not surprising to see young men and women willing to join their productions.

Aremu, and actor who works with Freethinkers comments “I’ve always wanted to be a porn star, so I’m glad its happening in Africa in this generation. I know the basics of having sex on camera; I have a good penis size and all the qualities of a good porn star. Having payment and getting a role in a porn movie, as a guy is enough privilege for me because there are thousands of African guys looking for this opportunity. My only fear usually is not performing well on set. Definitely, I want to make a career out of this and also get known internationally.”

Lisahot, an actress for the producers, is also one not shy of family and friends finding out about her role in porn. According to the university undergraduate, she has always been very sexual and confident of her body, so acting porn is a way to express herself, and most importantly make money! “Some people are not surprised while some people are. But come to think of it, how did they find the video? They must be a porn fan I guess,” she retorted.

She explained that she always asks for medical results of fellow actors, payment and promotion for deals before acting these roles. Although she didn’t state it clearly, by ‘promotion for deals’, it can be inferred that she may also be used to service paying clients.

She continued, “I have no fears really, because it’s a contract thing, I can decide to stop whenever I want just like every other porn star out there. If it turns out to be a high paying industry, why not, I may do it for the long haul”

So is Nigeria’s new love for porn here to stay or is it a going to die out soon? Or will it spread across Africa just like the growth of Nollywood inspired other industries on the continent?

COMPULSORY uniform outfit, popularly known as Aso ebi, has been outlawed in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

Petty lies, usually told at wedding engagement ceremony, have also been declared ungodly and banned forthwith.

Wife of the General Overseer of the church and Mother-in-Isreal, Pastor Folu Adeboye made these known on Saturday at the women’s meeting, which was a part of the activities of the 65th annual convention of the church themed “Halleluyah”.

She stated at the meeting that compelling members of the church to participate in Aso ebi during special programmes in local assemblies was ungodly.
The news that some members of the church without financial power to buy such uniforms, were excluded from the programmes for which the uniforms were sown, was seriously repudiated by the church leadership.

She noted that Aso ebi which should ordinarily be for the family, must not be elevated to the point of making it to overshadow the spiritual life of the congregants.
She warned that such un-Christianly act of keeping church members out of programmes because of Aso ebi, must never be heard again among the women in the church, adding that those caught would be severely sanctioned.

He stated that the concept of appearing in compulsory uniformed attire for an occasion started with the world and should not be allowed to take a firm space in the church.

She also frowned on the idea of what is seen as petty lies during Christian wedding engagement, where those conducting such events would have to engage in lies to make money from the attendees.

Pastor Adeboye explained that with God, there is no white or black lie, small or big lie, stating that when attendees are asked to bring air fare to fly in, an item already provided for at the event venue, those involved are simply engaging in ungodly act which is a sin.
She called for moderation among Christian women, saying that their focus should be bringing halleluyah and spirituality into their homes and not engaging in the ungodly acts of the unbelievers.

The 2017 convention of the church also came to a close today, with millions of worshippers gathering together on the camp along Lagos/Ibadan expressway for the week-long event.

The highlights include numerous testimonies, prophesies of turn-around and victories as well as what could be tagged harvest of babies.
As of 4pm on Friday, a total of 74 new births had been recorded on the camp, with the breakdown showing 43 boys and 31 girls.

At the Friday Holy Ghost night attended by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, thousands of babies were also brought forth for dedication.

Apart from Osinbajo, other dignitaries include Governor of Benue, Samuel Ortom, wife of Lagos State Governor, Abimbola Ambode, former Ondo State Governor Olusegun Mimiko and his wife, Kemi, Speaker Ekiti State House of Assembly, President, Living Faith Ministry, Bishop David Oyedepo, among others.

In the course of offering prayers to nations of the world led by Mrs Adeboye, special prayer for quick recovery was offered for ailing President Muhammadu Buhari.
Osinbajo and other leaders, including those of Islam faith, were also prayed for.

The theme for the next convention was revealed as “Dominion” by Pastor Adeboye.

Burnley shocked nine-man Chelsea by beating the champions 3-2 in a thrilling opening Premier League encounter at Stamford Bridge.

Captain Gary Cahill was shown a straight red card early on by Craig Pawson for a high tackle on Steven Defour, before Sam Vokes put Burnley ahead (24) with a neat flick inside the area.

Stephen Ward doubled Burnley's lead with a fierce strike from an angle (39), and Vokes netted again before the break (43) with a free header six yards out.

Substitute Alvaro Morata pulled one back for Chelsea on his debut (69), but Cesc Fabregas was shown a second yellow for a foul late on, having earlier been booked for a sarcastic clap towards Pawson.

David Luiz's late goal (88) made for a nervy ending, but Burnley held on for a dramatic victory.

Chelsea were reduced to 10 men after just 14 minutes as Cahill overran the ball in midfield, before going in studs up on Defour, forcing Pawson to show a straight red.

There were no complaints from new skipper Cahill, but disgruntled Chelsea fans made their feelings known to Pawson before Burnley took the lead on 24 minutes through Vokes, flicking Matt Lowton's right-wing cross into the bottom far corner from 12 yards.

Ward made it 2-0 with a thunderous left-footed effort from an angle after Jack Cork's deft ball into his path, and Vokes then got his second, and Burnley's third, with two minutes of the half remaining, ghosting between Luiz and Marcos Alonso to head home Defour's cross.

Chelsea pushed in the second half as Alonso forced two good saves from Tom Heaton, and Morata, who had been introduced just 10 minutes earlier, headed home from close range after Willian's fine cross for 3-1.

Morata then netted at the far post, but was correctly flagged offside, before Fabregas received a second yellow for a silly late foul on Cork.

Nine-man Chelsea continued to push, however, and somehow halved the deficit as Luiz volleyed home Morata's flick-on inside the area.

Robbie Brady hit the post from a free-kick a minute later, but after a frantic final few minutes inside Burnley's penalty area, Sean Dyche's side were delighted to hear the final whistle.

Arsenal produced a stunning late comeback to beat Leicester 4-3 as the Premier League returned in thrilling fashion on Friday night.

Arsene Wenger's men were 3-2 down with seven minutes remaining but goals from substitutes Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud stole the game from under Leicester's noses.

Big-money signing Alexandre Lacazette took just two minutes to score on his debut but he was outshone by the visitor's No 9 as Jamie Vardy scored twice against the team that came close to signing him last summer.

In what was a pulsating start to the new season, which was kicking off for the first time on a Friday, Leicester equalised within three minutes of Lacazette's opener through Shinji Okazaki and then took a shock lead through Vardy.

Arsenal responded just before the break through Danny Welbeck but Vardy headed home from a Riyad Mahrez corner on 59 minutes. As the home fans started to become restless, Arsenal staged a late fightback with Ramsey and Giroud both finding the net from close range within two minutes of each other to send the roof off the Emirates.

Those that have been craving Premier League football over the summer were given a sweet release inside the opening five minutes with two goals - one at either end.

Lacazette averaged a goal every 86 minutes for Lyon last season in Ligue 1 but needed just two minutes to get his season rolling at a jumping Emirates Stadium.

Mohamed Elneny whipped the ball in from the right and there in the box waiting was the Frenchman, who stooped to divert a clever header into the far corner. It rekindled memories of Ian Wright at Highbury such was his poacher-like finish.

The home fans' joy lasted just three minutes. Marc Albrighton sent a ball in from the right which new signing Harry Maguire did brilliantly to loop back into play at the back post. Okazaki was waiting out-jumped Granit Xhaka to head home from close range.

Despite Arsenal's domination of the ball, Leicester were back to their title-winning best on the counter attack.

They pressed high on 29 minutes and stole the ball off the Arsenal defence before moving it out wide to Albrighton. The former Aston Villa man caught Rob Holding napping in the middle with a tasty ball into the six yard box which Vardy gobbled up from close range.

You could feel the tension in the stands rising with every passing minute of sloppy Arsenal play. A goal was required and Welbeck stepped up just before the break to ease the restlessness in the stands.

Mesut Ozil showed a fleet-of-foot on the edge of the box and the play developed inside the box before the German squared a fantastic ball to Welbeck - which took Kasper Schmeichel out of the game. The Arsenal striker couldn't miss.
The equaliser would presumably set the platform for Arsenal to step on the gas in the second period, but it was the visitors who pressed on. Petr Cech had to be quick off his line to stop a surging Riyad Mahrez run before flying to his left to push a long range effort wide from the same player.

Cech could do nothing to stop Vardy on 59 minutes - although his defence should have.

Mahrez slung over a near post corner which found Vardy in three yards of space. Nacho Monreal looked at Holding while Xhaka looked at Monreal. This left Vardy with the simple task of flicking home from eight yards out.

Arsenal looked nervous in their bid to equalise, prompting Wenger to call from Ramsey and Giroud from the bench - and they repaid their manager's faith.

After a spell of pressure inside the Leicester box, Ramsey controlled at the far post and drilled the ball beyond Schmeichel with seven minutes left.

Arsenal now smelt blood and went for the kill.

From a right-wing corner Giroud rose highest to head the ball over the line, via the crossbar, with goal-line technology confirming the goal.

It sent the Emirates into delirium.

If you didn't know already, the Premier League is back.

In the Nigerian blogosphere, Laila Ijeoma commands a lot of respect, not just because she owns www.LailasBlog.com an entertainment website that reports trending Nigerian news read by millions monthly.

On June 30, 2016, Laila took a bold step of abandoning her over N5million per annum bank job to become a full time entertainment blogger; risking everything to take a gamble on her passion.

She traded her lucrative job to pursue what was still at that time, just a hobby she was passionate about, but today, the decision has become one of her best turning points.

In a chat with Vanguard Saturday Woman, she says she has no regrets a year after taking this huge leap of faith as she now has all the time to focus on her family and continue to grow her blog even bigger.

Why did you dump your bank job for fulltime blogging?

I started blogging as a joke in 2012; I wasn’t looking for money because I was already gainfully employed at that time. All I wanted was an outlet to share my life with Nigerians, inspire them with my stories. So I started a Facebook group called, ‘True love for my man’- that should be around 2010. That was the first social media account I used to gather people together and we chatted about love and heartbreak. My big dream had always been to have a top Nigerian talk show, so I later started a show on radio. I eventually had to put it on hold because it was so demanding.

Being married, a mum to 3 boys, working at the bank, there was a lot to do in just 24 hours every day and the whole schedule nearly ‘killed’ me, so I had to drop the radio show. Along the line, I discovered blogging through a colleague at the bank where I worked; he owned a blog, after he introduced me to it that fateful day, I got hooked. I realized I could reach out to people through it with much less stress compared to a radio show. I told him I would love to have mine and he helped me set it up.

I didn’t even take it serious then. But as I kept on sharing stories, and I read comments from my audience, I knew this was what I was born to do. I have always been a science student in school, I knew nothing about blogging, and I had zero celebrity friends, zero celebrity sources for my stories but I didn’t let that stop me.

How difficult was it juggling being a banker, blogger, wife and mother of three boys?

It was a crazy, hectic schedule! On a daily basis, I woke up 4am; go to bed sometimes 12 midnight. And the next day, I still have to go to work. No excuses. I was able to run my life like that for four years because I was purely fuelled by passion. I just love blogging, there’s this irreplaceable, beautiful joy it brings me.

As with every new venture, the beginning is usually slow.

How long did it take for your traffic to skyrocket?

It took about 6 months after I made the first post on my blog for my traffic to start skyrocketing.

Did the traffic immediately translate to money for you?

No it didn’t. My traffic didn’t translate to so much money till 2014. That was the year this particular company contacted me and ran an advert with me that lasted for a full year and changed my life.

Would you say blogging is lucrative in Nigeria?

As long as you are a passionate blogger, as long as you are in blogging because you enjoy what you are doing, as long as your blog, its concept, its contents are original, not a rip off of another blogger’s website; blogging is the best thing that can ever happen to you.

The rewards will blow your mind! It’s already an open secret that blogging can make you a billionaire. You get lots of free stuff from brands too. People just call you up. They want to advertise on your website and they are handing out their products and services to you for free so you can review them and share with your readers.

Then you have the best reward; you are recognised as a voice that can start a change. You are respected. People want to read what you have to say about a situation. Readers are so addicted to your blog that they wake up in the morning and can’t wait to read what is on Laila’s Blog today. As a blogger, you can comfortably work from home in your pyjamas.

So you prefer blogging to banking?

I did banking for 10 years in one of the best banks in Nigeria and I enjoyed it. But I wasn’t self-fulfilled, I wanted more. Again, I was already blogging for over 3 years alongside my day job.

Truth is as time went on, it became harder running my blog, bank job, family and taking care of myself efficiently. I wanted to wake up in the morning to the joy of knowing that all I had to do for that day was write about the trending stories in Nigeria and not miss any story just because it happened while I was offline.

I also wanted to spend more time with my very supportive husband and children every day.

How would you compare your income now to when you were a banker?

It has been tremendously rewarding, spiritually, family-wise, and financially. You know with a steady day job, you don’t have to worry about getting your paycheck at the end of the month. There are days I worry- what if I don’t make money this month?

That was why before I quit my bank job, I made sure I saved up my salary and had at least 6 months’ salary set aside. I actually had a full year salary saved up before I made the leap and resigned.

If you don’t plan properly, things can actually go wrong and your dreams won’t come out the way you planned them; you will fail and life will become miserable. I’m so glad I conquered my fears of what if something goes wrong and took the leap.

My friends, family, parents thought I was crazy when I first mentioned it. But after they saw I wasn’t going to quit blogging and that I had prepared for the worst; they rallied round and supported my decision to leave banking. Having them behind me made me stronger and I left.

Any regrets so far?

None whatsoever; my income tripled. My kids wake up in the morning they see mummy. Mummy takes them to school, mum brings them back, mum tucks them into bed every night, mummy helps them with their school assignments, things I couldn’t do before.

I love what I do now and it gives me so much joy. I just miss my former colleagues once in a while.

What are the challenges you face as a blogger, especially those peculiar to the Nigerian blogosphere?

My biggest challenge is internet network; there are times I wake up to blog and I discover my internet isn’t as fast as I need it to be. Sometimes, it’s entirely down so I can’t even blog.

Second challenge is power; a laptop is to a blogger what the Bible is to a Pastor. Laptops can only work if they are charged. Because I am online at least 18 hours daily, I spend a lot on fuel for generators.

What stands you out from other bloggers?

You can be very sure that out of the over 50 stories you read on Laila’s blog in a day, at least 50% are our original stories. Again, we deliver stories as they are happening. You will read breaking news, trending stories first on Laila’s blog before they appear on other websites.

In your estimation, what’s the future of blogging in Nigeria in the next five years?

With a computer today, anybody can build a global business from his/her bedroom, with a bit of creativity and sheer determination. Every day, we have over a hundred new bloggers coming online. Vlogging is now a huge thing!

Five years from now, I see more younger people doing big things, conquering boundaries, becoming millionaires through blogging in Nigeria.

I also see blogging in Nigeria becoming more professional. I am a registered member of this CAC registered bloggers’ association called The Guild of Professional Bloggers of Nigeria.

Aside blogging, any future plans?

I have this huge passion for taking care of orphans and vulnerable children, kids under the age of 18 years who are at high risk of lacking adequate care and protection. Right now I have 10 under my care, children my husband and I take care of. We have plans of taking that number up a notch.

Any tips for upcoming bloggers who look up to you?

One Mr. Mohammed Mustafa Ahmedzai once said ‘The easiest job on earth is starting a blog but the toughest job is maintaining it.” And this is simply because patience matters in blogging, and most upcoming bloggers don’t have that!

Experienced bloggers will tell you that you should only start to think about making money from your blog at least after 6 months of blogging. But every day, I get emails from new bloggers with 1-2 month old blogs asking you how to apply for Adsense.

These new bloggers apply for AdSense and most times, they are rejected and you see them quit blogging.

From the day anybody starts blogging till the day he/she ends her blogging career, there are lots of problems you’ll face. Solving these problems and moving ahead is not easy as it sounds! And that’s another reason upcoming bloggers quit blogging easily.

So my first tip for them will be to have patience. Without it, their eyes shall not see the billions blogging can drop in their bank accounts. If your main reason for blogging is money and you have no patience for earning it, then you’re not going to earn from blogging at all!

What’s your biggest wish in life?

I wish to make the world a better place by saving abused and vulnerable children and making sure their oppressors get severely punished for their wickedness.

Today, August 12 is also Laila's birthday. Below are photos she released to celebrate.

Good morning Admin

We are the family members of Vera Uloma Ukah, a Batch C 2016 Corp member, deployed to Sapele in Delta State.
Sir, we have not seen or heard anything from her for the past 9days. We equally understand that the primary and secondary schools are on vacation, as such; she should have had some time to visit home on permission from the corp.

Sir, we are not comfortable with the situation as every member of the family has been put in a trembling situation over her sudden desertion. All efforts to connect her on phone has proved abortive following the unavailability of her phone lines for the past 9 days.

We decided to sort for a helpful avenue such as this platform to solicit for the help of your good office to conduct a search for her by using the appropriate channels.

We look forward to hearing from you within a shortest time.

Thanks for your anticipated cooperation.

Yours sincerely,
Samuel Ukah.

A thirty-five-year-old man, Bakare Olalekan, yesterday confessed to newsmen that he bought a human heart for N10,000 from his friend, he simply identified as Oye, for “good luck charm.”

Olalekan was among 55 other suspects that were paraded by the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Illiyasu, at the State Police Command Headquarters, Eleweran, in Abeokuta for various crimes. The crimes ranged from kidnappings, armed robbery, vandalism, burgling, ritual killing, cultism and impersonation.

Olalekan said he bought the heart from his friend after his friend told him that he needed a charm for prosperity. He said Oye told him that he would need a human heart, which is a major ingredient in the preparation of the charm.

His words: “He (Oye) later sold three human hearts to me and he used one of them to prepare the charm for me. I later sold the remaining two to a suspect who is also being detained.”

The Police Commissioner while giving breakdown of the various crimes the suspects committed, disclosed that Olalekan was part of a four-man syndicate that was arrested for killing a 16-year-old girl, Olayinka Adebayo, last year August.

Among the suspects was a fake naval officer, Abdullahi Hammed, a fake police officer, David Olasubomi, and a fake prophet, Kehinde Onanunga.A mother, Mulika Alaba and her 16-year-daughter, Olamide Saliu, were equally paraded for dealing in Indian hemp.

Furthermore, a man suspected to be an accomplice of a fake pastor has said he was contracted to kidnap a virgin girl for ritual purposes. During the police parade, an alleged fake pastor of a white garment church in Sagamu, Kehinde Onayiga, was alleged to have a hand in the killing of a 13-year-old girl, Anuoluwapo Ajisafe, for ritual purposes.

His alleged accomplice, Musiliu Jibril, reportedly lured the victim to Onayiga’s church where she was said to have been murdered. Jibril confessed to journalists that it was Onayiga who contracted him to source for a female virgin, who he wanted to use for ritual purpose, in preparing some fetish materials for some Internet fraudsters, popularly known as Yahoo boys.

“I was able to lure the girl because she knew me and the mother, too, knew me. I delivered the girl to him in his church at Sagamu. He promised to pay me N20,000, but I am yet to get the money.”

Onayiga, dressed in white garment, and holding two goat horns wrapped in red cloth, denied the allegation, saying, “It is a lie. He did not deliver any girl to me in my church.”

Onayiga said he trained under an Islamic cleric before branching out to start a white garment church. Asked what he used the fetish-looking goat horns wrapped in red cloth for, he responded, “I used them to pray for those that are sick and are brought to my church for healing.”

The teenage girl, Anuoluwapo, was said to have been missing since June 21, 2017 and her whereabouts remains unknown till date.Nine suspects who specialised in vandalisation of telecommunication masts across the state were also arrested. They are Edi Isaac, Chinedu Eze, Emmanuel Utulu, Adewale Saheed, Tunde Adebayo, Jimoh Idowu, Olaniyan Ibraheem and Henry Evans.

Philippe Coutinho has issued Liverpool with an official transfer request, according to Sky sources.
A close family member of Coutinho's has told Sky Sports News: "Philippe has tried very hard to find an amicable solution to this situation but to no avail.

"He has tremendous love for the club and its fans, but like Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez have pointed out in the past, Liverpool does not let its players leave on amicable terms."

Liverpool have denied receiving any such request and on Friday morning, Fenway Sports Group released a statement saying "no offers will be considered" for Barcelona target Coutinho this summer, with Jurgen Klopp backing the owners' sentiments.

Sky Sports News understands Liverpool have so far rejected two bids from Barcelona for the Brazil international, with the latest offer worth up to £90.4m.

Later on Friday, a close family member of Coutinho's told Sky Sports News: "Philippe has tried very hard to find an amicable solution to this situation but to no avail.

"He has tremendous love for the club and its fans, but like Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez have pointed out in the past, Liverpool does not let its players leave on amicable terms."

It is understood Barcelona are prepared to pay up to £110m for Coutinho, who signed a new five-and-a-half-year contract at Liverpool in January, but FSG's statement had seemed to clear up his future.

"The club's definitive stance is that no offers for Philippe will be considered and he will remain a member of Liverpool Football Club when the summer window closes," the FSG statement read, issued prior to Coutinho's transfer request.

One of the RRS patrolling officers around Ile-Zik called the office around 10:30 a.m. yesterday on the discovery of an object suspected to be flesh around the area. The Flesh suspected to be human liver was found opposite a disused drainage in the area as it led to the discovery of the ritualist den .

The Commander, ACP Tunji Disu, deployed some men to check it for further investigations and they came up with more reports which instigated the deployment of scouts to keep surveillance on the area.

At around 3:00 p.m. distress calls on further discoveries were received at the RRS HQ compelling a full deployment of officers.

Further search of the environment lend credence to the suspicion with the sighting and subsequent arrest of an erstwhile mentally sick man with an iPhone.

Three other suspects were arrested after the search by senior police officers of all the underground drainage channels around the area.

Those arrested were taken to the closest police station to the area to prevent them from being lynched by the mob.

The large crowd, believing that some of the ritualists might be hiding in a warehouse around the area invaded the premises in attempt to ransack it . They were repelled by the police. Thereafter, a team of volunteers were allowed to search the building and brief those outside.

Some hoodlums, who wanted to cease the opportunity to loot the warehouse broke the wall into the warehouse.

Senior police officers at the scene included ACP - Ops, ACP Biodun Alamutu, Commander RRS, ACP Tunji Disu, Commander Area G and DPOs around the area.

TWO students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) have died in a midnight fire at a Lagos hotel.

Roli Odogwu, a 200-Level Mass Communication student, and Linda Elegeonye, a 300-Level Law student, died of burns, days after they were trapped in the hotel room where they were guests.

Until their death, the two students were residents of Fagunwa Hall.

CAMPUSLIFE gathered that the duo left the campus on Monday to attend an evening event off-campus. When it dawned on them that they could not return to the campus late in the night, they reportedly lodged in the hotel to pass the night.

The late Roli’s friend, who did not want to be named, said she spoke to her mother to inform her of her decision to pass the night in the hotel.

It was gathered that the victims were asleep when the inferno started from a faulty air conditioner. CAMPUSLIFE learnt that the victims were trapped for several minutes before they were rescued from the room. They sustained first-degree burns. They were rushed to Gbagada General Hospital.

Last Saturday, Roli died at 4am and was buried at Atan Cemetery in Yaba. On Sunday, news broke that Linda, who had been in coma for six days, had also died.

A friend, who pleaded for anonymity, said she was informed about the incident by a policeman who picked up the late Roli’s call on Tuesday.

She said: “The policeman told me that the owner of the phone (Roli) and her friend were involved in a fire accident and they were unconscious. I was told they had been moved to Trauma and Burns Unit of the Gbagada General Hospital. I informed other friends and we went to the hospital. When we got there, we were not allowed to see them immediately. Three hours after, we were allowed in with their parents and other family members.

“Roli was conscious and responding to treatment, but Linda was still in a coma. The burns were severe and we hoped both could make it. We are deeply hurt by their death.”

A report of an obscene picture displayed on the children targeted television channel has met widespread criticism.

DStv's Cartoon Network, in the face of criticism concerning an adult content reportedly aired on its channel, has released a statement to calm nerves.

Social media users, mostly parents and morally conscious persons shared reproachful comments following reports that the satellite television station displayed a photo that portrays nudity.

In its defense, the children targeted entertainment platform denied any use of obscene images on its channel, claiming that the picture attributed to it is fake.

A statement displayed earlier today on DStv's Facebook page reads:

"We are aware of the justified concern of some of our African viewers regarding what purportedly shows inappropriate content on Cartoon Network.

"We can confirm without hesitation that these images are not authentic and have never been broadcasted or shared on any official Cartoon Network platforms in Africa in any capacity.

"The fake images on social media were not produced by Cartoon Network, and are in no way representative of our goal to provide suitable, age-appropriate entertainment for African children and families

This development is similar to negative reactions received when Disney's "Star vs the Forces of Evil" aired its first gay scene.

The major concern is that children, who make up the main audience of the programme will be badly influenced by the content.

In an Africa where homosexual activities are strongly frowned against, such message is seen as a plot to derail kids from cultural values prescribed by their society.

There was confusion at the Ile Zik bus stop, along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway on Thursday after a suspected kidnappers’ den was uncovered around a drainage channel.

It was learnt that two “mentally-ill” persons and two others found around the spot were picked up by the police.

Decomposed human intestines, a kidney, as well as items such as a cutlass, pairs of slippers, underwear, clothes, condoms, among others, were allegedly discovered in some black spots linking the drains.

The discovery came barely 48 hours after a similar den was uncovered at Obadeyi bus stop along the same expressway.

PUNCH Metro learnt that residents had seen some persons in tattered clothes at about 1pm hovering around a spot, where a bag covered with black nylon was kept.

It was gathered that the “mad man” took to his heels as the residents confronted his female counterparts with enquiries on their mission in the area.

A resident, who gave his name only as Joshua, said the fleeing suspect confirmed their suspicion and made them to search the spots around the drains, during which the items were uncovered.

He said, “We saw a woman who dressed like a mad person loitering around the drains and we challenged her. At a spot, we saw a bag covered with black nylon. We found some plastic bottles in the bag. While we were emptying the bag and questioning the woman, we saw another ‘mad man’ close to the area. He tried to run away, but people gave him a chase and arrested him.

“While questioning and beating them, policemen came and took them away. We discovered something wrapped in nylon inside the bag. When we opened it, we saw a human kidney and intestines. They were later set ablaze.”

Another witness, Bayo George, said the ‘mad woman’ was popularly called Iya Ibadan and had been staying around the area for long, adding that residents had been monitoring her movement since the Obadeyi incident.
“Yesterday (Wednesday), people challenged her and while talking to her, they discovered a lot of new items in one of the bags she covered with tyres. The other man usually sits around this area too.

“Today (Thursday), we approached her again to ask her some questions and in the process, she ran into hiding in a bush along the drains. We brought her out with some nylons.
“When we emptied the contents of the nylons, we saw new and old female items like pants, bra, toothbrush, lip sticks, bags, a small Bible, comb, cosmetics, a sachet tomato, keys, pairs of shoes, cigarette, glass cup, drinks, and other items.”

One Gbenga Folawiyo said two receipts of drug prescriptions bearing the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital,Ikeja, for a five-year-old, were recovered from her.

He said, “The registration number on one of the receipts is 062181. The two drug descriptions were dated June 28 and July 3, 2017 with N4,800 and N9,600 written on the two receipts respectively.

“N11,500 was boldly written on a paper and placed on the top of the nylon that contained the human parts. Three other persons were also arrested and taken to the Isokoko Police Station. Criminal activities have been on in this area for many years.”

A lady, who did not disclose her name, said she narrowly escaped from some suspected kidnappers at the bus stop two weeks ago.

“I boarded a bus at Ikeja and a few minutes later, I discovered that a lot of people inside the bus had slept off as we were about to reach Ile Zik. I started shouting and the conductor was surprised that I was not asleep.

“When they noticed that a car was coming behind us, they turned back at Ile-Zik and went to stop the car at National bus stop. Immediately they stopped the car, the passengers woke up. I gave testimony in church last week to appreciate God,” she said.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, said the police would investigate the incident.

He said, “We swung into action to protect some people from jungle justice. Most of these people are destitute; they live anywhere. It is unfair; let us investigate and come up with our findings. If truly they found human parts, what was the essence of setting them ablaze?”

Twenty-nine born again Christians have returned their certificates to the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) for engaging in examination malpractice when they sat for the exams.
The examination body in a statement released after its 62nd National Examination Committee meeting recently, said that among the 29 certificates that were returned by the born again Christians, includes one that was issued 33 years ago (1984) and another one that was issued 32 years ago (1985).

A breakdown showed that four certificates each were returned by born again Christians who on their own confessed that they cheated while sitting for their exams between 2011 and 2013.

Others include three that sat for the examinations in 2000, 2004, 2008, two each in 1992 and 2003 while one certificate each was returned by born again Christians who sat for the examination in 1984, 1985, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006 and 2012.

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested a fake corps member at the NYSC orientation camp in Nsit Atai LGA. The suspect, Justice Orlu Ordu, is an indigene of Ikwere in Rivers State.

On interrogation, he admitted of being a fake corps member who forged NYSC call-up letter claiming to have graduated from University of Uyo’s Department of Architecture. He will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.

Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has said that the Federal government re-arresting him would quicken the actualization of the Republic of Biafra.

Kanu also said that nobody can restrict his movement in any part of the country and that he is free to go to any part of Nigeria, including Lagos, if he so wishes. According to the IPOB leader who spoke in Umuahia, nobody can stop him from visiting Lagos State if he wants to visit there, saying he was not bothered by threats by some elements that his safety would not be guaranteed in Lagos.

“If you arrest me, Biafra will come even quicker than we anticipate. I am not afraid of being arrested. I have been there before and if need be, I will also be there again. “I will be very happy if they re-arrest me. If we are hoping for 90% compliance with the boycott of Anambra State Governorship election, my arrest will make the compliance 100 %.

“But why will I be re-arrested and nobody is going to arrest Tanko Yakassai or Ango Abdulahi because of what they have been saying? Is it because they are Fulani? They own Nigeria? They are immuned to arrest? Is arrest only meant for Biafrans and not for Fulani? “Who will arrest Lawal Daura of DSS for flouting court order to release Bright Chimezie Isinwa of IPOB? The Fulanis say whatever they like and go free and nobody holds them accountable because they own Nigeria”, Kanu said. According to him, “I go to anywhere I want to go. I don’t listen to threats. They motivate me rather than dampen my spirit.

That thing people say I cannot do is what I love to do. When the time comes, I will go to Lagos if I have to go to Lagos”. “I have friends with connections in Lagos, Fani Fayode is my friend and he is in Lagos. If I try to visit him in Yoruba land, then I must see him in Lagos”.

Kanu also denied promoting hate speech as being accused of by his critics, saying that condemnation of the injustices in Nigeria or the agitation for self- rule does not in any way amount to hate speech.

“I completely disagree with them. They are the pioneers of hate speech. Go through the text of speeches made by Ango Abdulahim, Tanko Yakassia or the ones made by one Abubarkar. Are those ones not hate speeches? Unfortunately, I blame the deplorable state of education in Nigeria because they don’t know what hate speech is all about. “Does asking for self determination amount to hate speech? Or asking for referendum hate speech? Where did they go to school? I think they need to invest more in education because self determination is no way equal to war or hate speech”, Kanu said.

Relationship blogger and psychologist Joro Olumofin has advised Nigerian men not to start with spending money or projecting wealth to any lady they are interested in.

Read his piece below....

Based on Psychological principles such as "Primacy rule", & "Learning Theories", the first stimulus you present in an experiment if pleasurable must be repeated or continued if you want to keep your test subjects interests remaining intact. I.e if you start with something; that's what you will be remembered for and also you must continue it because that's the basis Or foundation of your relationship. This being said, a lot of men today are guilty of throwing money, gifts, iPhone, bags, shoes, perfumes first at women before even forming any " intellectual or mind connection" with their love interest.

These same men later complain that ladies ask them for money too much, these ladies present them with a reservoir of requests & when there's no money or gifts there's nothing to talk about. FRIENDSHIP SHOULD COME FIRST BEFORE SPENDING MONEY. The major problem with our generation regarding relationships is that " sex " is now synonymous with "money". Men believe that if they don't spend money or show off their assets, house, cars ladies won't pay them any attention which is TRUE and also ladies because of peer pressure, unavailability of jobs, recession mentality, hardships believe that money shows love & caring. Being broke to some ladies is a crime which warrants insults or derogatory names.

As a result, you see ladies make references like I just met this guy " he drives a benz, he bought me an iPad, he lives In Asokoro Abuja OMG! He's a nice guy. How do you know he's a nice guy??? when you never properly courted him. Materialism and Money have take over in our generation in relationships.

Fellas, don't spend 1 kobo on her first, take her on dates, play snake and ladder, play ludo with her, take her to have drinks or movies. Don't start with materialistic things. Let's put a stop to Money before Love. Love should come before money.
