A Nigerian lady who hawked pepper and lived in a tiny room in Lagos in the past, took to social media to celebrate buying two houses in US and Canada alongside getting engaged to her heartthrob.

Recounting other challenges she faced before her breakthrough, Adeola Olubamiji stated that she has proven to those who said she should hide her success because men are scared of strong women and PhDs, wrong.

She wrote;

God Saved the Best For Last In This Decade - 2019, You Blew My Mind. #Read, #Share and #Celebrate With Me #HomeOwner #YourFavoriteScientistIsEngaged #34WasAGoal #YearOfYes #LongPost
I really wanted to buy a property in 2018 but I moved to the US, started a new job and focused on paying off my 50K debt. I tagged 2019, my year to DECODE 10X and I was on a mission to TAKE UP SPACE, EXPAND and BUILD on what was started in 2018 (Solving for X).
Goal #1 for decoding 10X was **buying an investment property in Canada.** Building on the strategies learned last year on how to pay off your loans, I started learning about wealth creation, cash flow, retirement plans (RRSP, 401K, IRA), stock market and so on. Also, I found a real estate coach and accountability partner. My multi-buildings owner real estate mogul friend Debby provided eye-opening real estate lessons and the first quarter, she reported that she bought her first home for the year. So, I knew I needed to buckle up. Lastly, my accountant friend, Funke, sent me a yearly intentional budgeting and planning excel sheet that enabled me plan my money and see how I am spending. Game on!
RESULT #1: purchased my first ever property in Ontario Canada! Closed the home in August and rented it out to students resuming back to school in September. Yes, the first one needed to be an investment property. Thanks to the learnings on wealth creation. I owe this to Debby for pushing me, explaining all processes and having the right crew (legal, mortgage specialist, house manager) ready to get this going stress-free.
RESULT #2: Debby was buying 3 properties this year and on one of our calls with the girls, she was closing her second property. In this country where people have just one property all their lives and pay for it for 30 years, look at Debby winning! Ha, so I asked “what is life without taking a risk or two”? I secured my motivation and decided to take a second risk: buy a home to take root in Indiana. She helped crunched the numbers and Mr Olu held my hand and said let’s go!
Couldn’t find a place with all I wanted, so my friend (Opeyemi) told me about building one and recommend a builder.. Huge task... long thing... Well, on the 23rd of December, closed the home built in Indiana USA! A 5 bedroom 3 baths house by the pond just a year after moving to the US. Picked the stones, kitchen granite, fireplace stones, cabinets and added a room downstairs for my parents (I was thinking of them visiting at some point) and all my wants for this house, was in it. This was the best Christmas gift anyone could ever ask for.
This is all so overwhelming and let me tell you why. As a kid, we lived in a face-me-I-face-you 3-bedroom slot in Mokola. My immediate elder brother took one of three rooms and turned it into a business Centre for graphics design and the last room was dedicated to my brothers who had several friends sleeping there. So, we were left with the middle room called “yara” to share by 5 people (my parents, my sister and I, and the money machine brother of mine who also need to sleep after working in the living room).
The room was small and so tight and ofcourse I had to share a bed with my sister. We had a black and white TV with no video, so we would go watch movies in our neighbor’s living room. They are family and so kind to us but whenever they had visitors, we had to bounce and watch from the window. Sometimes, up to 5 of us will fight for a small hole through the curtains to watch Aladdin, Pokahontas and so on. Ha, this life!
So, that same girl and the same one who hawked pepper, the same one who was a cleaner in Finland for 4.5 years, the same girl who was a sales girl at Sephora in Saskatoon, who just finished University 3 years ago, the same girl who was called jara child (extra), the same one who lived in a tiny room by a toilet in Ogba and the same one who went to Europe with 700 Euros is the one who built a house in America. And bought a house in Canada. I added 5 TVs because everywhere I turn to, I must see TV o. The same girl that used to peep from someone’s window to watch TV, Jesus!!
You probably are reading this and saying is she still single? Saying a prayer for me or pitying me or getting scared about me not finding a man. Worry no more because I AM ENGAGED! Olu asked me to marry him in October 2019 and I f**king said YES .  At every step of these decisions was this man and as much as we are not perfect, I have found a reason to have a family because of him. Shout outs to my sisters: Yvonne, Funmi and Busola for picking the ring. Dear internet family, your internet sister and most eligible spinster is getting married #Engaged
Dear boss girl, build your empire and don’t think about whoever will be scared to marry you. Do it because you have suffered enough in this life and deserve to live. The right man will be there just in time.
Dear University students, I was in school just 3 years ago. Make sure to strategize on what’s next while still in school. It will be up to you to use that advanced degree to break into your successes.
To those who say SCIENTISTS are POOR and want to follow the slayqueen of the world to do crazy things and those looking for rich husbands, tables are turning. The prayers men are praying now is let me find “Iyawo alalubarika”.
Dear parents and society, please stop telling women they can’t own houses and stop telling us to wait our lives away and squeeze into holes. To those who told me I can’t find a husband because I am strong, men are scared of PhDs and I should hide my success. You are wrong. God wins all the time. Young lady, don’t let them rush you! Wait and achieve your dreams. They don’t catch late comers in this marriage o.
Dear all, please let’s make conscious decision to learn about how money works. Nigerians are known as serious-minded professionals. But, we end up not becoming wealthy because our money doesn’t work for us when we sleep and we don’t know how to maximize our income and often have no side gigs. Also, start new and intentional friendships and surround yourself with the right crew! I cut off a long-standing friendship this year because she was jealous and just a never-seeing-good-in-me fella. But look at the new friends I gained? Lastly, I hope you will share this until every girl in your neighborhood pick up their books and fight for an education.
To all new immigrants in Canada and the US, and new University graduates with jobs, start saving for that first property in 2020 and stop using your money to travel the world and paying mortgage for someone else! It may take a while before you get to hike goal but ask for help so you it won’t take you too long. It took me 11 years to get here and I hope it won’t take you that long. Are you ready to take those RISKS in 2020? Let’s talk.
Now, we need money to pay off the mortgage and plan the wedding. So, please send me consulting gig and refer people to register for mentorship with Dr Addy because you too need a year like I have had.
Thank you Jesus for all you have done. Stay tuned for more about my 2019 journeys tagged decoding 10X and I hope you will agree with me that we have taken roots in America in 2019!
How was 2019 for you? Again, don’t forget to #share

According to Obama, 'from hip-hop to country to The Boss, here are my songs of the year. If you’re looking for something to keep you company on a long drive or help you turn up a workout, I hope there’s a track or two in here that does the trick'.

Burna Boy's 'Anybody' and Rema's 'Iron Man' made the list.

If you recall, some days ago, news making the rounds had it that a man was arrested alongside his mother for the murder of a Lagos State University female undergraduate, Favour Dayley-Oladele. It was alleged that late Oladele had her head smashed with a pestle and her heart ripped out and eaten for ritual purposes.
Now the ritualist who called himself a 'pastor' has finally been arrested for his role in the murder.

Read below:

A 42-year-old self-acclaimed pastor, Segun Philip, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly killing a final year Sociology student of the Lagos State University, Favour Daley-Oladele, for money ritual.

The cleric was arrested alongside a 23-year-old boy, Adeeko Owolabi, said to be the boyfriend of the deceased, who was reported to have left home to an unknown destination since December 8, and has not been seen since then.

She was subsequently reported missing by her parents at Mowe Police Station.

The Ogun police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the arrest on Sunday, said, based on the report, the Divisional Police Officer of Mowe Division, Marvis Jayeola, detailed his detectives to unravel the mystery behind the disappearance of the 22-year-old girl.

“The detectives went into full scale technical and forensic investigation of the case and their efforts paid off when the movement of the deceased was traced to a white garment church in faraway Ikoyi-Ile in Osun State being pastored by one Segun Philip.

“On getting to the church, the self-acclaimed pastor was promptly arrested but he was quick to inform the detectives that the girl was brought to him by her boyfriend Adeeko Owolabi who was still within the vicinity of the church. The said boyfriend was traced and apprehended immediately.”

Mr Oyeyemi said, on interrogation, Adeeko Owolabi confessed to the police that the deceased was his girlfriend and that he lured her to Ikoyi-Ile where he had perfected plans with the cleric to use her for money-making ritual.

The police said the boyfriend stated further that while the girl was sleeping, the pastor gave him a pestle he used to smash the head of the girl. After this, the pastor quickly used a knife to cut off her neck, ripped open her chest and removed her heart which he used in preparing a concoction for him and his mother to eat, Mr Owolabi reportedly told the police.

Mr Owolabi’s mother was also arrested.

“When asked what pushed him to such devilish act, Owolabi explained that he decided to go into money ritual because things are not going well with his parents economically most especially his mother who used to be the breadwinner of the family; and when he sought for assistance from the pastor, he was asked to bring a human being for that purpose and the available person at that time was his girlfriend,” the police spokesman said.

The Commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrimson, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for proper investigation.

He vowed to ensure that all the suspects face the full wrath of the law.

Here is another story I culled from somewhere about a man who seems to be dragging his girlfriend with another man..

Read what he posted below:

Hello guys, I have been worried about this issue.
I just graduated recently and am at the peak of my career trying to shape up my life for the better future with my girlfriend, someone that I have been dating for the past 6 months.

We have so much in common and built our relationships with love and trust. The journey wasn't easy but we were able to settle our differences and understand each other.

Recently she met a childhood friend whom she had a crush on when growing up, but the guy never asked her asked to be his girlfriend never said anything to her cuz he saw her as a small girl then.

The guy is into business and has quite established himself. Last 2 months the guy asked her out and she told me about it cuz she needed my permission whether she should go or not and I said okay she can but it will only be first and last time she will go out with him.

To cut the story short, last night I called her line and she was on another call for more than 30 minutes. I confronted her about it and she started crying, was begging me that she was sorry and that the guy is really disturbing her, asking her to give him a chance, to the extent that she should leave me for him, he will give her anytime and even train in the university.

She told the guy she can't leave her boyfriend becuz she loves me so much. I was dumbfounded and I don't even know what to do about it cuz I don't have the resources (money) at this moment

Relationships gurus what do you think about my situation I need your opinion and suggestions cuz I love this girl so much and want to settle down with her cuz she suffered with me and I suffered with her.

The Joint border drill has confiscated more than 4800 bales of second hand clothings valued at three billion naira from Yaba market in Lagos.

The Customs Coordinator, Western Zone, Assistant Comptroller General, Bukar Amajan, explained that the seizure was made possible through intelligence report.

More than 4800 bales of second hand clothings impounded from a single location.

The Customs coordinator of the border drill says these were picked up from Yaba market where smugglers had stockpiled them.

Describing second hand clothings as absolutely prohibited items, he challenged the owners of the consignment to come forward with any document to prove these goods were brought into the country legitimately.

Government still maintains a ban on the importation of second hand clothings into Nigeria from either the seaports, airports or land borders and Customs insist it will continue to effect seizures wherever they are found.

A teacher at a private primary school in Lagos, Jacinta Igboke, is being held in police custody for the murder of her estranged lover, Arinze Ani.

Igboke reportedly stabbed Ani to death on Tuesday during an altercation at his shop on Old Ojo Road, Satellite Town area of the state.

City Round learnt that Ani, who traded in soap chemicals, was planning to get married to a woman on January 4, 2020 after his relationship with Igboke collapsed. The relationship produced a boy, who is now 18 months old.

It was gathered that what started as true love in 2016 went sour shortly after Igboke got pregnant.

The matter, however, came to a head on Tuesday when the teacher went to Ani’s shop to collect money for the upkeep of their child.

The encounter was said to have resulted in an argument during which Igboke knifed Ani in the chest.

The 29-year-old native of Ebonyi State narrated the chain of events leading to the incident to our correspondent shortly before she was arrested by the police from the Satellite Division led by CSP Chike Oti, the Divisional Police Officer.

She said Ani’s parents were allegedly not in support of their relationship because she was older than him and he was supposed to marry a woman from his village in Enugu State.

She stated, “I am a primary school teacher. Arinze (Ani) and I got into a relationship in 2016. I got pregnant for him in the process but his parents said we cannot marry each other because I was older than him and that he must marry somebody from his village. He was born on November 19, 1990 while I was born on 29 October, 1990. They said they would only accept the baby.”

Igboke explained that she reported Arinze at the human rights section of the Satellite Police Station and he was invited for dialogue.

She said at the meeting, it was resolved that she should live with him at his Ijegun residence, adding that their coexistence was fraught with quarrels.

She recalled, “His brother and sister lived with us, but the sister later left after she got married. Six months after I gave birth, I went out one day but when I came back, I found out that they had packed out.

“I went back to the police station in July 2019 and they invited him. He said he didn’t want to marry me. The police told him he must take care of the baby and instructed him to give me N10,000, one carton of noodles and rice every month for his upkeep.

“Since then, he never bought any foodstuff for the baby and he didn’t pay the N10,000. All he did was to send N2,000 or N3,000 into my account. Most times, I had to go to his shop to ask for the money.”

The woman said she went to Ani’s shop last Thursday and requested the feeding money for November and December.

She claimed to have told Ani that she needed to buy clothes and some other items for the child to celebrate Yuletide.

She stated, “I also reminded him that the house rent had expired since March and asked him when he would renew it. He beat me up and I left. On Saturday, his uncle called me on the phone and we met somewhere close to my house. He advised me to stop fighting him (Ani) and that I should not take the case to the police again.

“He promised to settle the whole issue. I showed him alerts of what Arinze sent to me monthly. I told him there would not be any problem as long as he performed his duty. I called the uncle on Monday morning and asked if he had talked to Arinze. He said I should not worry and promised to call me back in 30 minutes.

“He later called and promised to bring something for us in the evening. I told him there was nothing for the child to eat. I got angry and told him that Arinze claimed he didn’t have money, yet he was planning to wed on January 4, 2020. He said I shouldn’t think like that; and that it could be that someone was footing the wedding expenses. I told him there was no way Arinze would not spend money to organise the wedding.”

Igboke told City Round that Ani’s uncle didn’t show up in the evening as promised, adding that when she called him on Tuesday morning, he said he was in traffic.

“I told him I would go to Arinze’s shop but he warned me not to go. I went there the first time but he was not around. I then went to a market to buy some clothes for my child. I went back to the shop and showed him the clothes. I asked him to give me money so I could buy shoes and some other things the boy needed. He pushed me away and a bike almost hit me.

“I entered his shop again angrily and he pushed me. I fell on a pavement and hit my head on the ground. I then picked up a knife in self-defence. I didn’t know when I stabbed him,” she added.

Sounding remorseful and down, Igboke demanded that her child should be in custody of her family.

“I learnt my child is with Arinze’s relation but I want him to be taken to an orphanage until my family comes to carry him. I know I may not see my son again and I don’t even deserve to live. Arinze’s family may maltreat him because of their hatred for me,” she added.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, said the suspect would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.

He said, “We received a distress call that the woman allegedly stabbed her boyfriend on the right side of the chest, killing him in the process. A police team mobilised to the location where the suspect was rescued from a mob and the body of the victim recovered.

“The body of the victim was taken to the mortuary for autopsy. The suspect and the victim were lovers and between them is a male child of about one and half years whose upkeep is believed to be the source of their constant quarrels.”

Tragedy struck in Abuja on Christmas Day as a family of five died in a lone accident on Kubwa-Zuba expressway, Abuja.

A 2005 Toyota SUV, with registration number, KUJ 615 TU, driven by one Samson Alowe, 42, crashed and burst into flames killing all the occupants, including his wife, Opeyemi, 40; daughter, Angel, 12; and two sons, Prosper, 10; and Fortune, 8.

Findings indicated that the five family members were burnt to death.

The Federal Road Safety Corps Education Officer, Commander Bisi Kazeem, attributed the crash to loss of control.

A preliminary report showed the crash occurred around 10.04 pm, adding that the FRSC officials got to the scene within five minutes while fire service personnel extinguished the flames.

The charred bodies of the victims were later removed from the vehicle by the FRSC operatives and evacuated to the Kubwa General Hospital mortuary.

Our correspondent learnt their remains were buried on Friday.

Families and friends of the Alowes have taken to the social media, mourning the victims.

In a post on Facebook, Stevemonu Idowu described Samson, who was the Chief Executive Officer of Profosan Project Ltd., as an actor, influencer and successful entrepreneur.

He wrote, “If I was not there when you were buried today (Friday), I will never believe you have gone. Some people knew you as a nice brother but some of us knew you to be a man of God, a prophet indeed.

“What you have taught us, especially me, I will never forget. You left the world as a young man but you impacted your generation like a successful 70-year-old man.”

A Nigerian woman identified as Funmilayo Samson, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police command for allegedly subjecting her step-children to abuses and turning some of them into sex slaves.

Funmilayo, said to be a resident of No 22 Ebuwawa Road, Agbede, Baba-Alagbo Junction after baba welder bustop in Ikorodu, was reportedly brought in as a househelp to take care of the kids but ended up marrying their father after their mother died.

She was accused of "beating the kids, locking them inside the toilet, locking them outside the house in hot sun and under the rain, piercing their body with blade at slight provocation, putting pepper (dry or cooked) inside their eyes, leaving marks and bruises all over their body, starving and denying them of food, fighting and taking those who give the children food or money as enemies".

The lady was also accused of bringing in commercial motorcyclists to have sex with the kids when their father is not at home.

Abdulmumin Suleiman who shared the story, wrote;

The residence is at No 22, Ebuwawa Road, Agbede, Baba-Alagbo Junction after baba welder bustop, the second plot after the left junction at Baba alagbo, the flats behind the two uncompleted buildings in- between a Fufu Seller kiosk and Gas/ Business center shop by the left side of Ebuwawa Road, Ikorodu, Lagos. The right hand flat on entering from in between the two uncompleted buidings. The woman known name is *Aloore* Funmilayo Samson. The formal address is 22, Ebuwawa Road, Agbede, Ikorodu, Lagos.

My people, what can we call this wicked step mother whose face is showing in the photo maltreating her step children (12, 9 & 3) whose their biological mother is now late? - Beating, locking inside toilet, locking outside the house, locking in the house inside intense heat, locking them outside in hot sun and rain, piercing their body with blade at slight provocation, putting pepper (dry or cooked) inside their eyes, leaving marks and bruises all over their body, starving and denying them of foods and fighting and taking as enemies people that give these children some food or money and all sort of maltreatments, bringing okada men home to have se**x with them whenever the husband is away on the island during work-days, fighting with neibours and street residents, cursing everyone that comes on her way, disturbing the peace of the neibourhood with curses-packed prayers with disturbing bell ringing, fighting the neibours threatening them with the death of their children, calling their name and raise curses and the most disturbing thing is that she has turned the husband to a mumu (fool) that only just agrees with what she says rather than seeing the plight of the children and she boast that there is nothing anyone can do because she brags she know people. It was gathered that the first husband sent her packing from Ibadan because of her wicked attitude.

The children are crying for help from the hand of this wicked step mother.

Many could be heard from the children as attached. Her attitude has made the land lord to give them quit notice starting from Jan 01 to end of March 2020. These children are crying for help before they pack out of the environment.

Her case has been reported to the police and the Lagos State neibourhood also knows of this without anything being done about it. She claim she beat her husband's children and that does not concern anyone.

Please share these post to get to any organisation that can get justice for these innocent children whose we believe their mother should be crying in the grave now because people that knew them when the mother was alive say that the children were very well fed and beautiful before
