 One of the largest hospitals in the country is chasing a bill of more than £500,000 from a Nigerian woman who gave birth to quadruplets.
The 43-year-old, named only as Priscilla, went into labour three months early shortly after landing at Heathrow airport in November.
She had intended to give birth to the babies in Chicago, in the US, where she has family – but was turned away by border officials upon arrival.

According to Mailonline ,they claimed that although she had a visa, she did not have required documents from a hospital stating that she had the money to pay for the birth.
Priscilla, a healthcare worker, said she was returning to Nigeria via London when she started having contractions.
She was taken to the Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital in west London, part of Imperial College Hospital, where she delivered the four babies.

One sadly died shortly after birth while another, a girl named Deborah, passed away on Saturday. The other two, Elijah and Esther, are still being treated on the hospital’s neonatal intensive care ward.
Staff estimate that the total bill for the highly complex birth and the care of the babies is already more than £500,000 about 90 million naira .
The cost of treating one baby in neonatal intensive care is £20,000 a week.Priscilla is currently staying at a hostel run by a charity and is unable to afford the bill.

Her husband is in Nigeria, and cannot come to Britain to help take care of her as he does not have enough money for a visa or the flight.

Priscilla underwent IVF treatment, which has a high risk of multiple births, as she was struggling to conceive naturally due to her age. 
She was told by her doctor to fly to the US to have her babies, as Nigerian hospitals do not have the ‘facilities to cater for the children’.
Her case is revealed tonight in the BBC 2 documentary Hospital, which exposes the pressures of health tourism on the trust. 

When first warned of the high treatment costs by overseas visitor manager Terry Facey, she says: 
‘I didn’t plan to come here.
‘It’s only money. Money can’t buy life. The last bill I had was £331,000 but – even if I worked every day – I would never earn that much money. My kids are priceless.’

 The police high command in Abuja yesterday, disclosed that it has apprehended two more suspects who took part in the kidnap of eight schoolgirls and staff of Nigeria Turkish International College, NTIC, Ogun State, last month, while the sum of N3 million was recovered from the latest suspects.

According to reliable police source, the suspects also confessed to the December 2016 killing of Aisha Ali-Balogun, a presenter of a popular comedy show, Stand Up Nigeria.

 When Vanguard interviewed the suspects, they confessed, saying they collected N2 million each from the ransom paid for the release of the victims. Super, also explained how his gang killed Alli-Balogun in 2016. Confessions of Super to Vanguard The 21-year-old Super told Vanguard that:
 “I am a native of Arogbo Town in Ondo State but I came to Lagos and joined the kidnapping gang in 2016. One of my friends, Austin, invited me to the gang and we worked with Stone, who is a commander of the camp who worked under Ossy, our overall boss. ‘’We also had 38 rifles in our  Ajegunle area of Ikorodu den, but our first operation was on the Ajegunle- Majidun Road and we were seven who carried out the operation. “We grouped ourselves in three, some were in front, others were in the middle, while the rest were behind. Although, we all shot indiscriminately but the people at the front were the ones that killed people. “My gang leader, American was the one who killed Alli-Balogun. 

He told us after the operation that when he stopped the woman’s car she was accompanied by  a man and two children, but when he stopped them the man ran out of the car with the children while the woman sped off with the car and that he shot her because she almost killed him with the car. That it was after killing the woman that he abducted her daughter.” “He explained that the woman almost killed him before he shot her. 
Stone, who was the leader of camp was not happy with the killing but he said he had no option. We kidnapped six persons, including the woman’s two year-old daughter and a ransom of N2million was paid before their release. Someone who claimed to be the woman’s husband paid us N500,000, before we released the two–year-old girl.” ‘
’The relations of the other victims paid us N1.5million and I got N45,000 as my share. That was because the people in the camp were many. ‘’

Three weeks ago, one of the leaders in our camp, Julius, brought the job of the kidnapping of the Turkish school girls and staff and when we kidnapped the girls, we didn’t maltreat them while we negotiated with their relations  because one of the students and the white woman among them assured us that the money we demanded will be paid by the  parents and the school authorities. ‘’We used to beat our victims and make them cry on the phones while talking to their relatives but we didn’t beat the Turkish students. ‘’I got N2million from the job and I was also monitoring the news, but I didn’t know that my colleagues had been arrested until I was nabbed.
 Ayeomi too confessed The other suspect, Ayeomi, told Vanguard that he was the house keeper in the camp. He said;
“ I am a  logger and I was invited to join this camp by my friends. They told me that they were expecting big money and my job was to cook for the kidnappers and their victims and also wash their cloths. When the money was paid I got N2million.’’

Gospel comedian, Akpororo went a little bit overboard with one of his jokes at the recent Edutainment fiesta in UNILAG.

While trying to tell the difference between a white stage performance and a Nigerian one the comedian dry humped a UNILAG girl live on stage.

The father of one held the young girl in a sexually suggestive manner and  started making sexual moves with his waist hitting hard against her body. Akpororo did not stop there but also bent the lady forward and continued his sexual moves.

The sexually suggestive moves left very little to the imagination leaving the lady embarrassed and the audience hyper active.

The Department of State Services has asked the General Overseer, Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman, to stop granting interviews.

Investigations by our correspondent also indicated that the cleric was directed to watch his tongue because of the importance attached to his messages by his followers.

A security source at the DSS told The PUNCH that Suleiman was equally told by security operatives to know that his followership cut across Christianity and Islam and should therefore mind the way he speaks.

The pastor was quizzed by the DSS on Monday in Abuja over his alleged sermon asking his followers to kill any herdsmen found within his church premises.

He had claimed that he was warned that unknown herdsmen were planning to either ambush him on the road or invade his church to cause havoc.

A few days after the alleged directive, he was said to have told members of his congregation at a religious crusade in Ekiti State recently to defend themselves if they were attacked by herdsmen.

The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, was alleged to have stopped the DSS operatives from arresting the cleric on January 25, thus provoking controversy on the issue.

During his interrogation by the DSS, on Monday night, however, Suleiman, who was accompanied by a former governor, was said to have been told that some unsuspecting Nigerians could cash in on his messages to cause havoc in the country.

The source stated, “We asked him why he made such a provocative statement and he defended himself.

“He (Suleiman) said he made the statement based on available information that some herdsmen were planning to attack him and that he merely asked his church members to defend him and the church property.

“While we didn’t argue with him, we asked him to note that his followership cuts across the two dominant religions, which are Christianity and Islam.

“We also asked him to note that the Federal Government was doing its best to curtail the activities of the herdsmen and also fight crime generally.

“He said he knew, but added that the government needed to do much more and that he was not out to cause religious crisis but was merely expressing his anger at the refusal of government to take actions that he said could reasonably convince Nigerians that it (the government) is not partial.”

The source, who spoke on “strict confidence”, said both parties also agreed not to speak with the media on the outcome of the interrogation.

“None of us would speak on the issue. We need to douse tension in the country. That’s our agreement,” the source added.

In order to avoid further controversies, he explained that this was one of the reasons why the DSS asked Suleman to postpone his coming for interrogation from 10am to 8pm.

“We needed to manage the crisis and the crowd. That was one of the reasons we agreed that his coming should be devoid of any razzmatazz and long convoy,” the source added.

Reacting to his visit, Suleiman, who refused to speak on whether he was banned from speaking during his interrogation, commended the DSS operatives.

He said they exhibited what he described as professionalism in their work.

Suleman’s spokesperson, Mr. Prank Shuaib, who spoke with one of our correspondents on behalf of his boss, said the cleric was happy with the outcome of the interrogation.

He said, “It was a friendly interview that was devoid of any rancour. We need to commend the DSS operatives because they exhibited the highest degree of professionalism during the interview.”

A source added that though the cleric spent about three hours with the security operatives, the discussion between the two parties was less than one hour.

“Apostle Suleman spent about three hours in DSS but his discussion with the DG (Director-General, DSS) about his preaching was 55 minutes. It was a very friendly and cordial meeting between Apostle Suleman and the DG of DSS.

The source confirmed that the cleric was told to be cautious of his words because he had a large audience, including both Christians and Muslims, who watched his satellite channel, Celebration TV.

“The DSS categorically told him that there is the tendency for his followers to misinterpret him while mischief makers could, at the same time, capitalise on it to cause crisis in the country,” he added.

A 30- year- old woman , Oluchukwu Ezemaduka, is currently battling with a damaged jaw at a private hospital, West Care Specialist Hospital in Akowonjo , Lagos , after she was allegedly battered by a riot policeman , Idiahgbe Iyobosa.

Iyobosa, who is attached to a bank in the FESTAC Town, was said to have repeatedly hit the woman in the jaw with his service boots until blood gushed out.

Oluchukwu is the friend and roommate of Iyobosa’ s girlfriend, Maryjane Anyagwa . The friends live on Awoyemi Street, off Coker Road, Ejigbo .

PUNCH Metro learnt that Iyobosa had visited his girlfriend in Ejigbo on Saturday, January 21, at about 9pm, with a view to passing the night at her place , but met only Oluchukwu at home.

He was said to have got enraged and resorted to the assault as the victim told him that she didn ’ t know Anyagwa ’ s whereabouts.

Oluchukwu, who managed to speak to our correspondent from her sick bed , said the policeman ransacked the apartment , looking for his girlfriend.

“ I was not in the room when he came . As I was about to enter the room , I felt that somebody was there ; I got a torch from a neighbour and shone it in the room . That was when I knew it was him . He had scattered everywhere.

“ He asked me where his girlfriend was , I didn ’ t answer him . He asked me the second time and I told him that I didn ’ t know her whereabouts . He kicked me several times with his boots, breaking my jaw. He brought out a dagger and chased me outside . It was people, who saved me.

“ The pain is too much for me . The doctor said I would undergo surgeries this week. ”

Her friend , Anyagwa , stated that her relationship with Iyobosa was marred with threats and harassment, saying she was no longer interested in the relationship.

She said , “ I was not around that day . When I came back the next morning , my neighbours told me that my boyfriend came to beat up my friend because he was looking for me . He thought she deliberately refused to disclose where I was.

“ He usually assault me too . Most times , he would not notify me that he would pass the night in my place . He would threaten to deal with me if I report him to the authorities or quit the relationship. I was afraid.

“ We started dating each other about a year ago . I later knew that he is married with two kids . The wife had warned me to stay away from her husband . ”

An eyewitness and neighbour , Henry Okafor , said Iyobosa also attacked him that day when he cautioned him.

“ He just came from nowhere and started beating the lady . He also attacked me. I didn ’ t fight him because he was in uniform, ” he added.

Oluchukwu’ s father , Mike Ezemaduka, who is based in Abuja , said he was shocked on seeing the condition of his daughter at the hospital
He said , “ It was a serious injury and she will undergo two surgeries , according to her doctor.

The doctor said she needed to recuperate a little bit before he could carry out the surgeries. The lower jaw was broken . We were told that she would no longer be able to chew if she didn't undergo the surgeries, which will cost about N 700, 000. The policeman ’ s relatives have promised to pay the bill.

“ My daughter is not his girlfriend; she has nothing to do with him at all . Why should he beat someone , whose room he barged into ?”
It was gathered that the case was reported at the Ejigbo Police Station and Iyobosa was arrested.

The acting Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Olarinde Famous -Cole, in a text message , said , “ The incident was reported at the division for discreet investigation. ”
