Even as the year 2013 runs to an end, I want to wish you all a Happy New Year in advance.
On the 3rd of March, 2013, JimCaddy's Blog was born, and I will say it has been by the Grace of God that we are able to run the blog up until this very moment.
Saying that things have been easy for us thus far will be an overstatement.
Going nine uninterrupted months, delivering juicy stories making the rounds haven't been easy, especially despite all the numerous challenges I have been facing.
Personally, I haven't been 100 percent impressed with JimCaddy's Blog, and I'm sure some of my readers won't be as well, even though I haven't gotten any negative report thus far.
I am someone who looks at the bigger picture, and I try not to allow so many negative things distract me.
The sole purpose of JimCaddy's Blog isn't to make money, though money comes into the thick of things.
Need I remind you that I outlined, in specific terms why I started JimCaddy's Blog in my first ever Personal Diary- How My Passion For Blogging Came To Be.
If it were solely for money, JimCaddy's Blog won't be in existence any more, because honestly speaking, I haven't made a dime from blogging thus far.
The high points of blogging for me are so numerous, but I will share some with you all.
Firstly, I have really improved my vocabulary skills as I learn new words everyday in the course of my writing and reading.
Secondly, I have met so many nice people especially in the world of blogging. I have made new friends with notable bloggers such as Linda Ikeji, Stella Dimoko Korkus, Laila Ijeoma, Emeh Achanga, Moji Delano, Adeola Awojobi, Kemi Filani (who we went to the same University), and several others.
Meeting them, relating with them, and sharing ideas have been so fabulous.
Thirdly, blogging has really opened my eyes to the world of professionalism, as I tend to be more professional in what I do.
Last, but not the least, the world of blogging has really made me to take a keen interest in something entirely different from what I studied in the University. I have learnt some skills in reportage and verbatim.
All these wouldn't have been possible without the birthing of JimCaddy's Blog.
As much as the high points have been great, I have also had so many low points, especially challenges managing and running this blog.
The very first and foremost challenge I have is the fact that I started this blog without having a personal computer to use.
My former laptop developed several faults, and the cost of overhauling was almost equal to getting a new one, so I had to dispose of it. That was three months before I started JimCaddy's Blog.
It may sound funny to you that a blogger doesn't have a laptop. When I tell this to people, they do not believe me. Their next question is 'How Do You Blog Then?
I make use of my mobile phone to post stories via Google's email to blog functionality.
That way, I tend to post breaking stories on the go without having to look for a computer to use.
This method is really quite easy, but it comes with so many challenges.
I can't modify my posts after posting them, I can't add links if I want to make reference to a particular story, I can't arrange pictures or caption pictures. I can't arrange the layout of my blog, and so many other technical things I can't do unless I make use of a computer, or have my good friend do it for me.
So what I do is to always go to a nearby cyber cafe and do those things I can't do on my phone. And that costs a lot of money at the expense of my privacy.
The second challenge I'm facing is the problem of comments.
I have really stressed this several times, and I have personally appealed to readers of JimCaddy's Blog to always endeavour to drop comments each time you read a story.
If not for anything, at least to continue to encourage me to keep doing what I'm doing.
Believe me, comments do matter, and it gives that first impression to anyone visiting my blog for the first time.
No comments turn people off instantly.
I can liken the situation to a teacher in the classroom teaching, and all his students just look at him and what he has said so far, and no one asks him a question or says anything to him. How stupid the teacher will look eventually.
The third challenge I faced was the issue of legal threats. Sometime this month, I had a US based Nigerian lawyer mail me and express his 'client's displeasure' over a particular gay scandal report which went viral a couple of months ago.
I remember I carried that story, culling it from other blogs, and quoting my reference.
As if that wasn't enough, the lawyer threatened to work in conjunction with Google to close down my blog if I did not remove the said posts within 10 days notice.
I had no choice but to duly respond and take down those posts, but not without me giving him a candid piece of my mind.
I could have remained defiant and take up the matter with a lawyer friend of mine in the UK, but I decided to take down the posts.
Then lastly, one of the challenges I'm facing is the financial running cost of maintaining JimCaddy's Blog. Like I earlier reiterated, I have had to spend hours in the cyber cafe when I need to sort out some technical aspects of my blog. Also I have had to squeeze out monthly data subscription just to enable me to continue to stay online and serving you guys the best of juicy stories. All these costs so much money, and not helped with the fact that I am not earning money yet.
If I was set to make money solely, JimCaddy's Blog would have passed on to the great beyond a long time ago.
Well I hope that all these challenges go along with 2013.
In 2014, I have huge plans for JimCaddy's Blog.
I want to turn the blog to a world class news blog.
I am thinking of the possibility of owning a domain.
I'm also trying so hard to get a laptop to make things a lot easier, but that is proving really difficult, as it has always proved. But I'm believing God to make a way for me.
I'm also planning on having exclusive contents on JimCaddy's Blog, that is why I'm trying to encourage participation from readers of my blog. If I can lay my hand on two to three exclusive stories monthly, the page views on my blog will multiply in leaps and bounds, and my blog will start becoming a force to reckon with.
Rome wasn't built in a day. Some of the popular bloggers in Nigeria didn't just start today, they started from the level I am now too.
Also, I will like to appeal to my dear readers, if you have suggestions on how to make JimCaddy's Blog improve in 2014, please feel free to contact me, and we'll discuss. If you want more features added on JimCaddy's Blog, send me an email.
I do not want to despise the days of humble beginnings, as I am willing to learn new ideas.
Together, we can make JimCaddy's Blog one of the best in Nigeria in 2014.

Happy New Year in advance once again!!
JimCaddy
It all started on a Sunday evening, I felt so big because I cannot lower my standards to start talking to some dead girls. I mean I'm a big girl, I should be found with bigger girls and bigger boys. Anyways that's aside. My roommates were not around so I decided to start tweeting. I didn't really have anything to tweet, I went through peoples tweet so i started stealing people's tweets. Most of my followers were retweetting it because it was really making sense.
My roommates got back but I ignored them because I was really having fun on twitter.
Around 1:00 am I got a DM from a guy, I almost ignored it but I checked it. It was just 'hi' from a guy. I checked his avi, OMG this guy is so handsome and on point plus he has over 5000 followers. Definitely, he must be a big boy and he should have cash, this attracted me to him and we started chatting; in my mind I have found new maga. He introduced himself and told me he is loving my tweets because they really inspire him. I told him they were all my thoughts.
He must have believed me because the next thing I knew he started telling me his life story. He told me how his girl friend broke his heart and all, he said he loved the girl so much and gave her everything she wanted; he gave her an I phone 4 and also got her a diamond ring he proposed to her with. All this got me thinking of when I would be getting my own diamond ring. Since he got her an Iphone 4 I might get the new Z10! Finally, someone to change my blackberry bold1. He also mentioned giving her the key to his house in Lekki when he was travelling to America to see his parents.
My eyes were wide opened that was how I knew that YES this guy is perfectly boxed up. I wasn't going to let him think I was the broke one, so I started forming for him too. I lied to him about how rich my parents were . I started consoling him and telling him that not all girls are the same. Not because I pity him but common this guy is young and rich and this kind of fresh fish cannot slip away from my hand NO! When he called me, I spoke with a black American accent I learned from watching TV.
Soon we started planning our first meeting. He asked me for how much I needed. I replied. No thanks, I don't need your money. He sensed I
was being modest and he asked me if 100 thousand naira will be adding that he would give it to me when I come over. I had to look good to impress this guy, my broke a*s had only two thousand naira. I went ahead to buy a Brazilian weave on credit. I also borrowed thirty five thousand naira from a friend. I made a good meal. I got new clothes and other stuffs. Nneka had warned me not to come back to school if I didn't get her money.
We met. While he drove me to the undisclosed place, I talked and laughed at his dry jokes. We got to lekki he stopped by one of the houses, he said he wanted to get something from his friend. Immediately he left, his phone rang but I didn't pick up, the fourth time the person called I picked up and the person said "I get your message say you don pick the girl, abeg wait for me before you start to dey knack am because I wan knack am too. We go do a before you ask for her ATM card and pin oo. Since you talk say na rich girl, he mean say she go get correct money. No f*ck up oo before she go no say you be broke guy, continue to dey form fonee u hear, helooo, hello, hello".
I took my things, entered the next cab I saw………. Haaaaa BAD MARKET. Wat will I tell Nneka!!!
Shekau, who has been dubbed a "global terrorist" by the U.S and twice been declared killed by the Nigerian military, claimed responsibility for a December 20 attack on a tank battalion barracks in Bama, Borno State.
"Brothers pulverised 21 armoured tanks. People were killed in their multitudes, bodies scattered all over," he said, adding that his forces "blew out the brains" of soldiers who tried to hide under their blankets.
"Had Allah allowed us to eat them we would have eaten them but we are not cannibals," he added, according to reports. "This is a victory from Allah."
The video showed the terrorist leader seated on a mat surrounded by masked fighters. It included footage ostensibly filmed of the attack, with burning buildings and fighter jets and armed, masked men walking around them.
The insurgents stormed the barracks by arriving in a convoy of trucks shortly before sunrise, opening fire on soldiers inside before torching the compound. Witnesses said they kidnapped soldiers along with women and children.
The military has not yet released a death toll from the attack but said that more than 50 insurgents were killed when ground forces backed by fighter jets pursued them after the raid. Locals claimed they also killed an unknown number of civilians and destroyed four villages.
Shekau threatened more mayhem in the video sent to AFP on Saturday whose authenticity has not been verified, although it is one in a series sent to the news agency in which he features.
"As for killing, we will kill because Allah says we should decapitate, we should amputate limbs, we should mutilate," he said.
He also shrugged off the bounties put on his head – $7 million by the U.S and $312,500 by the Nigerian government. "We do not worship money," he says. "You can't in any way harm me."
Akubiro is said to be the founder of Mountain of Breakthrough Church in the area. The incident was said to have occurred about 1.30am.
Neighbours, who requested anonymity, told our source that the gunmen arrived at Akubiro residence in three jeeps and a Toyota Tundra vehicle. The number plates of the vehicles were said to have been covered. The gunmen, who wore army camouflage, had allegedly gained entrance into the house with the aid of an iron cutter.
It was learnt that since the abduction, no one had heard from Akubiro and his six children.
The Community Developmen Association Chairman, Mr. Yinka Obasan, said he was alerted about the development about 2am.
"I got a call that night from a resident who was coming from a vigil. He told me that he noticed some military vehicles parked outside Akubiro's home. He said the vehicles belonged to a high ranking military official because the insignia was covered.
"I told the man to wait for me and together we went to Akubiro's home. When we got there, I greeted the men I met outside and introduced myself as the CDA chairman. I asked them if there was a problem. Instead of answering me, they turned on my companion and accused him of alerting me.
"After berating both of us for not minding our business, they forced us to sit on the ground and seized our phones. There was another resident sitting on the ground; they had detained him since 12am when they arrived. Then they started beating us."
It was learnt that inside the Akubiro residence six of Akubiro's children were in the sitting room watching a movie, when the men, said to be dressed in dark googles, black jeans and heavy bullet proof vests entered.
It was gathered that they told the terrified children that they were policemen and proceeded to drag their father, who was sleeping, from his bedroom into the sitting room. The six children, whose ages ranged between 30 and eight years, were beaten up.
One of them, an eight-year-old named Emeka, was allegedly tied to a tree in the compound. No reason was allegedly given by the gunmen for their actions.
Another 18-year-old boy named Obiora was said to have been tortured with a taser. Akubiro's wife, Rita, was said to be away on a trip to South Africa at the time.
It was learnt that the gunmen later took Akubiro away along with Ada, his first daughter, Obiora, Oyinyenchi, Felicia,, Nonso and Kingsley. Three person were allegedly left behind – Emeka, Chidera and a baby.
Obasan said, "Around 2.45am, those who were inside came out with Akubiro and his children. They said they were going to the man's church to burn it down – Akubiro is the founder and head of the Mountain of Breakthrough Church on Breakthrough Street in this estate.
"They put their victims in their vehicles and zoomed off. Before leaving, they threw our phones at us."
Our source gathered that immediately the gunmen left, a report was lodged at the Owutu Police Division.
However, the DPO was said to have denied that the gunmen were policemen.
It was learnt that since the incident, no one had been able to establish contact with Akubiro and his children. His wife Rita, who returned from South Africa the following day, was said to have received no calls concerning their whereabouts.
There was no response from the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer DSP Ngozi Braide as she did not respond to calls and text message to her phone.

Happy New Year in advance once again!!

The incident was said to have happened in Surulere area of Lagos and in the school's premises.
Ibrahim, an indigene of Niger State, was said to have raped the six and seven year olds in the toilet during school hours.
It was learnt that the defendant had only been appointed to teach Primary three students Islamic studies in the muslim school in August 2013.
He was placed on a salary of N10,000 per month which he accepted to take.
However, on December 18, 2013 he allegedly told the victims (names withheld) to help him fetch water and put in the toilet.
He was said to have followed them there, undress them and have carnal knowledge of them.
The victims were said to have cried while the act was on, which attracted attention of other kids.
Ibrahim allegedly pushed them out and pretended as if nothing had happened.
The victims were said to have been invited and interrogated by another teacher, who then related their confession to the school management.
The defendant was subsequently arrested and he allegedly confessed to the crime.
The police arraigned him on Monday on two counts of rape.
The charge read, "That you, Mohammed Ibrahim, on December 18, 2013 at about 1100 hours at Al Adab Nursery and Primary School, Abalti Barracks Surulere, Lagos in the Lagos Magisterial District, did forcefully have unlawful sexual intercourse with a child named (name withheld) aged 6 years, which caused her harm.
"That you on the same date, time and place, did unlawfully have sexual intercourse with a child name (name withheld) aged 7 years, which caused her harm."
The prosecutor, Inspector Richard Odige, said the offence was punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria 2011.
Ibrahim said he was not guilty of the offence.
Odige announced the presence of the Investigating Police Officer, Inspector Matthew Ebe and the headmaster of the school who did not identify himself.
The affected kids were also in court with their parents.
The defence counsel, Melda Bambo, appealed to the court to grant Ibrahim bail in liberal terms.
The magistrate, Mrs Demi Ajayi admitted him to bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties each in like sum.
"The sureties must also be at least 40 years of age, resident in Lagos and gainfully employed. They must present evidence of tax payment and affidavit of means. Their address identities and means of livelihood should also be verified," she added.
The matter was adjourned till January 29, 2014.
The demand made known to journalists at a press conference by Academic Staff Union of Universities, LASU chapter, Dr. Adekunle Idris are implementation of the universities Act 2012 (in LASU); downward review of the universities school fees; abolition of "no vacancy, no promotion" policy; regularisation of appointment exercise for members on temporary appointment; full payment of 17-month salary arrears.
Others include restructuring of courses in LASU to follow the submissions of faculties; immediate payment of Accrued Earned Allowances; provision of suitable and befitting university environment at all times, including restoration of internet facilities; stoppage of the purported outstanding PAYE tax liabilities planned to be deducted from staff members' arrears of salaries; review of the deadline for the acquisition of PhD degree.
The union leader said, paying between N197,000 and N350,000 by students was against LASU Law 2004.
Part of the law read that the university was established to "provide access for citizens of Lagos State to higher education regardless of social status or income."
According to Idris, the union had held several meetings with top management officers of the university including the Chancellor, Dr. Molade Okoya-Thomas, board of trustees of LASU Alumni and Ad-hoc committee of the Lagos State Executive Council on the demands.
He could not ascertain the level of achievement of the demands, saying there was no documentary evidence of the meeting held on November 29, with the Lagos ad-hoc committee.
The ASUU chief noted that the union's had in its last congress meeting in August 7, agreed to embark on a local industrial strike if dialogue failed.
While reading the congress decisions, he said, "The congress mandates the ASUU-LASU executive committee to continue to explore possible avenues and platforms to sustain the dialogue aimed at resolving all contending local issues. The committee is mandated to inform ASUU national of developments in LASU including the possibility of declaring an industrial action in LASU, in case the dialogue being undertaken fails.
"Where the dialogue fails, ASUU-LASU executive committee is mandated to put in motion the due process for commencement of a local industrial action in LASU. Early January 2014, congress will reconvene to review what has been achieved out of our demands and take decisions on the next lines if action with respect to those yet to be achieved."
He appealed to Lagos State Government, LASU governing council and management to "look into the burning issues in LASU comprehensively now and forestall the looming crisis in the university,"
However, since the time ASUU was on a national strike, LASU's Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and Non Academic Staff Union of Universities have been on strike at different times.
While NASU-LASU commenced its strike action on September 29 and suspended it on December 3; SSANU-LASU strike, which started on September 30 is still on.

Prince William will learn about issues facing the UK's rural communities and farming industry during the 10-week bespoke course.
The studies are expected to give him a foundation for when he takes over the Duchy of Cornwall from Prince Charles.
It is thought the duke will live in Cambridge for part of the time.
A Kensington Palace spokesman said the prince was "very much looking forward" to the course, which runs until mid-March.
The course is run by the Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership (CPSL), an institution within Cambridge University's School of Technology, which has William's father, Prince Charles, as its patron.
The palace spokesman said: "The executive education programme of seminars, lectures and meetings will draw on the strengths of academics across the university.
"The course has been designed to help provide the duke with an understanding of contemporary issues affecting agricultural business and rural communities in the UK."
The Duchy of Cornwall is a portfolio of land, property and investments which the prince will inherit from his father when Charles becomes king.
Prince William, who is second-in-line to the throne, will have 18 to 20 hours of lectures, seminars and meetings a week, as well as essays to complete and field trips to attend.
The cost of the course is being met privately.
The duke graduated from the University of St Andrews in 2005 with a class 2:1 degree in geography, and it was as an undergraduate that he met his future wife Kate Middleton.
He then spent more than seven years in the military, most recently working as an RAF search and rescue pilot based in Anglesey, north Wales.
Over the next year he is expected to focus on royal duties and charity work with his wife, now the Duchess of Cambridge - as well as his studies.
In April, the couple are set to visit New Zealand and Australia, most likely accompanied by their baby son, Prince George.

See full list below..
'Limpopo' – KCEE
This is the song that gave KCEE the final breakthrough; written by Harrysong and produced by Del B, the Pop tune propelled KCEE into the limelight and literally changed the course of his career. 'Limpopo' is so much of a party hard tune that we didn't bother doing that shameless 'two-finger- KCEE dance.
'Sho Lee' – Sean Tizzle
How about having this for a first single? Sean Tizzle who had just left Sound Sultan's Najia Ninjas crew took along a couple of his former boss' written songs and met up with budding talented hit maker DeeTunes (who had just parted ways with Iyanya). The result was 'Sho lee', an infectious high-tempo club song that had everybody asking if she/he/it was 'tough enough' or not.
'Skelewu' – Davido
Usual collaborators Pop singer Davido and producer Shizzi stunned us all with this unusual syrupy tune called 'Skelewu', which instantly became a fan favourite when it dropped in August. Don't act like you never stretched your hand out and swerved your shoulders as you attempted to do 'Skelewu' the dance better than the originator.
'Gobe' – Davido
Before 'Skelewu' dropped, Davido hooked up with song writer Password and producer Shizzi for his first post-debut album smash hit 'Gobe'. The huge Pop tune cemented his place on the A-list sheet and in the clubs.
'Caro' – StarBoy feat Wizkid, L.A.X
Wizkid dropped a couple of singles in 2013 but it was his collaborative effort with his StarBoy label rookie L.A.X and in-house producers Legendury Beatz that made the highest end of the charts. Many have sang about this lady 'Caro' but Wizzy's description over that Afrobeat tune stands out.
'Rotate' – Wande Coal
Before their childish fight on Twitter Wande Coal and Don Jazzy were an item. Having released a previous collaboration in 2013 ('The Kick'), the pair worked on another, this becoming an instant monster jam.
'Yes/No' – Banky W
Not only did the Cobhams-produced 'Yes/no' performed by Banky W turn out to be his biggest hit tune from his R&BW album, the mid-tempo RnB tune got him millions of wedding performances around the country. This was a big song for the lovers in 2013.
'S3xy Mama' – Iyanya feat Wizkid
This is what you get from two Pop giants who decided to talk about African women on a DeeTunes produced track. The great thing about the song is the way Iyanya and Wizkid's verses were weaved into each other. The song was so pacey, you'd have to hit the repeat button at least twice to have a full dose.
'Eminado' – Tiwa Savage feat Don Jazzy
We once described this song as 'totally horrible, unimaginably boring and a complete waste of time'. We still think it is but who are we compared to the millions of Nigerians that think otherwise? To the millions blasting this from their mobile phones to the other millions dancing to it in the clubs?
'Durosoke' – Olamide
Probably his biggest hit ever, Olamide's casual delivery on this Mr Pheelz produced number blew his career beyond boarders.
'Ada Ada' – Flavour
We won't deny, we all wanted to get married when we heard this song. Definitely hyped by the wedding themed video, Flavour's 'Ada ada' became at a point the number one song in the east and number one song at every wedding in the country.
'Personally' – Psquare
Peter and Paul Okoye had a brilliant year – without the release of an album, they maintained their high ranks with the aid of the Pop tune Pidgin English delivered 'Personally'. Whether we will ever get to know the meaning of 'habatically' is a topic for another day…
"The most disappointing one for me is D'banj because he passed through my hands, he was trained under my tutelage. That is offensive. I don't care if you're with Kanye West, you can't forget your root. I won't call anybody else's name but I will call his because it hurts. His own hurts very deep. And he never tried to reach out to me. It's not like we parted on fighting terms. He told me he had to go to London and he went. And when he came back it was Don Jazzy, and I said OK, that's fine. And what he did worked and I'm very proud of him, the love, that's why it hurts more. He should have come out to say no, I don't know why you people are saying all this, I didn't give OJB N7million, maybe a part of him felt embarrassed because at the end of the day, really, are you not supposed to do something?" OJB says during the interview.
He also talked about how people used his fund raiser as competition and once again addresses the bounced cheques.
"When P-Square gave me N5million cheque, everybody started treating as a competition. They were like, they brought N5m, I want to show that I can do more, or equal it. So they will come to my house, some will drop N2m, N1m, you say thank you, they take pictures and go away. Then you drop the cheque in your account and you see that almost N4/5million is being returned back to you that it didn't clear. You call them and tell them and they tell you they are coming but they haven't picked the cheques till now.
"The shocking ones are not even the bounced cheques. It's the ones that when they are coming to meet you in the house to give you money, they come with a whole camera crew. Then they will say I'm donating one million naira to you and the cameras start recording and maybe the guy's tape stops, and he says let's take that again (Laughs).
"There were people in my dialysis that I gave N100k each to pay for their dialysis, we didn't publicise it, we didn't take photos with them, because I felt that was unnecessary."
