The Formula One legend was reportedly injured on Sunday morning in Meribel and transported from the slopes to hospital.
No further information is yet available as to the extent of the German's injuries.
Schumacher, a seven-time world champion, is widely regarded as one of the greatest drivers of all-time. He officially retired at the end of the 2012 season, having returned following a four-year break from the sport.
