A 27-year-old final year undergraduate of the University of Calabar, Lydia Ezong, has been remanded in prison following an alleged murder of a Lagos co-tenant, Mr. Salaudeen Musa.
Lydia, who was staying with her parents on Cemetery Road in the Amukoko area of Lagos because of the just rested ASUU strike, allegedly pushed the deceased to the ground during an argument, which led to his death.
It was learnt that the deceased's brother and Lydia had had a misunderstanding, which the suspect reported at the police station.
The deceased's brother was said to have been arrested and detained in the cell.
The late Musa after learning that his brother was in police detention, was said to have applied for his bail, but was asked to go and get the complainant.
It was learnt that the 45-year-old, instead of going to Lydia, decided to take up the matter with her father.
Lydia was said to have interrupted in the discussion, which led to an argument.
The police claimed that Lydia pushed Musa, who slumped and died.
