A 19-year-old boy, Nathaniel Adedeji, who allegedly stole some cartons of wine and herbal medicine (Alomo Bitters) worth N110, 000, was on Thursday brought before an Ojo Magistrates' Court, Lagos.
Adedeji, a salesclerk, whose address is unknown, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and theft.
The prosecutor, ASP Godwin Eze, had told the court that the accused committed the offences on Feb. 16 at Suite 22, Melcon Company, Trade Fair Complex, Ojo, Lagos.
He alleged that Adedeji stole 25 cartons of Alomo Bitters and one carton of red wine, property of U.J International Ltd.
"The accused was, however, arrested by the police following a tipoff.''
Eze said the offences contravened Sections 285 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Adedeji, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the accused may be sentenced to three years imprisonment on conviction.
The Magistrate, Mr Taslimi Shomade, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned to March 14 for mention.
