After a splendid trip in 2013 where they rose African champions, played in the Fifa Confederations Cup and fixed a spot at the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil, Nigeria will be looking to start the New Year on an extraordinary note when they face Mexico at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.

Besides serving as an instrument for team selection process, Stephen Keshi's side will be gunning for their first win against El Tri having pushed them to a 2-2 draw in their last two games in 2007 and 2013.

Keshi invites back captain Joseph Yobo to his team since his last presence at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations. He has welcomed three new players – former junior international Ramon Azeez, and Belgium-based strikers Imoh Ezekiel and Michael Uchebo.

Nigeria's backline will need to watch out for Tigers forward Alan Pulido who denoted his first international game for Mexico with a hat trick a month ago against Korea Republic.
