Chelsea Midfielder, John Mikel Obi Joins #BringBackOurGirls Campaign

Nigerian international and Chelsea Football Club of London midfielder, Mikel Obi, has joined the league of those mounting pressure on the Federal Government to expedite actions on the safe return of abducted 234 female pupils of the Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State.

A photograph posted on the official Twitter account of Chelsea FC showed Mikel dressed in a suit, carrying a banner with the globally trending hashtag inscription, #BringBackourGirls.

The club, in a tweet accompanying the picture, said the player supported all efforts aimed at ensuring the prompt and safe release of the pupils.

"Nigerian international John Mikel Obi has lent his support to the bring back our girls campaign," the club stated.

Mikel's show of support to the campaign came amid the disappointment of many Nigerians over the Federal Government's inability to rescue the girls, 30 days after their abduction from their school by Boko Haram members.
