Manchester City Lifts 2013/2014 Barclays Premier League Title

The 2013/2014 English Premier League has wrapped up this weekend with Manchester City lifting the Title by defeating West Ham United 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium.

It was a close call as Liverpool needed City to lose before they could lift the title, but it wasn't to be.

Chelsea, under Jose Mourinho finished third, while Arsenal finished fourth.

It was a season to forget for Manchester United fans as the disastrous season continued with a 1-1 draw with Southampton at St Mary's Stadium all but cemented the seventh position, meaning no European football for them until 2015 at least.

In other leagues, Bayern Munich lifted the German Bundesliga title for the second year running, while in the French Ligue 1, it was Paris Saint Germain who won the title for the second time running too.

In the Italian Serie A, it was Juventus who lifted it back to back.

The only league left is the Spanish La Liga, in which FC Barcelona are on the hot trail of surprise package, Atletico Madrid.

It promises to be a more interesting season next season.

With Arsenal due to play in the FA Cup final next weekend, would they finally break the 8-year trophyless drought? Only time would tell.
