Just hours after the dastardly bombings in Nyanya area of Abuja for the second time in two weeks, a concerned Nigerian has tweeted his experience at travelling on the road and he saw a police van without proper number plates and that van was allowed to pass the checkpoint without any form of interrogation.
He wondered what if it was the Boko Haram sect transporting arms and ammunition. No checks, the vehicle was allowed to pass based on mere assumption it was the police.
This brings to question the porous state of our security. There seems to be lapses. These suicide bombers are so smart. It seems like it's a battle of the mind to see who outwits the other.
Security seems to be beefed up only when there is a disaster or when a VIP is in town.
I feel as a people, we need to assist the military and the security agencies with information.
The safety of Nigerians shouldn't be left in the hands of the security agencies alone.
