US Comic Actor Tracy Morgan In Critical Condition After Car Crash In New Jersey

Comedian Tracy Morgan is in critical condition after a multiple- vehicle accident in New Jersey that left one dead, according to media reports.

The former "30 Rock" and "Saturday Night Live" star was traveling with six others in a limo bus on the New Jersey Turnpike when the accident occurred at about 1 a.m. Saturday, Sgt. Gregory Williams of New Jersey State Police told the Associated Press.

A passenger on the bus, James McNair, 63, of New York, was killed when it overturned near Cranbury Township, state police said. At least four people, including Morgan, were taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J., NBC News said. The 45-year-old actor and three others were listed in critical condition. A fourth person was in fair condition, Williams told the AP. Two other bus passengers were not injured.

In addition to the limo bus, two tractor-trailers, an SUV and two cars were also involved in the accident, which closed the turnpike for more than five hours, AP said. It wasn't immediately clear what caused the crash.

Morgan performed standup at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino in Dover, Del., last night. His scheduled show at the Fillmore Charlotte in North Carolina tonight has been canceled, AP said.

The New York City native appeared on "SNL" for seven years before leaving for his own short-lived comedy, "The Tracy Morgan Show."

Morgan also starred as Tracy Jordan in NBC's
hit "30 Rock," which ended earlier this year.
