Two students of the Yaba College of Technology in Lagos State have been killed in further incidents of cult violence, sources on the campus of the institution have told SaharaReporters.

Our student sources said the deaths occurred as rival cult gangs on the campus clashed over claims of seniority. On Wednesday, August 27, one student of the College identified as Peter Adetunji was reportedly shot dead by members of the Buccaneers cult, also called Alora. Eyewitnesses said the victim
was shot on the head in front of the Student Union Building on the campus. Mr. Adetunji died of severe
bleeding arising from the gunshot wound.

Our sources said that another student, who was identified by his alias of Burna Boy, was last Thursday killed in front of a First Bank Branch at Fadeyi bus stop near the WAEC headquarters. The location of the second killing is in the neighborhood of the college,
which is Nigeria's first major institution of higher learning.

Several students who spoke to SaharaReporters said they suspected that the latest victim, Burna Boy, was killed as a revenge attack for Mr. Adetunji's murder
on Wednesday.

Our sources said Peter Adetunji belonged to the Eiye Confraternity while Burna Boy was a member of the Buccaneers.

A part-time student at Yaba Tech said he and other students had avoided going to the school since the shooting attacks began in the middle of the week.

"We are supposed to commence our examination this weekend, but some of us are afraid that another violent clash may occur," said the source. He added:
"Right now, our prayer is that the authorities at the school shift the examination [schedule] to a time when peace has returned."

Yaba Tech has been dogged by violent cult clashes over its history.

Some students alleged that numerous college officials at Yaba College of Technology are top members, sponsors and financiers of some cult groups. They also accused school officials of victimizing, even sacking, students
who dare to protest or speak against the excesses of the cult gangs.

"What the gangs are doing now is score counting.

They are now on one-to-one count," said a student.

"We do not know at what score of deaths they will stop at," he added.

Several students said they had no hope of the cult violence abating unless the Federal Government
steps in to fire school administrators and lecturers who are patrons of various cult gangs.

Apart from pure hatred for the female condom, many Nigerian women are either ignorant of its existence or do not see it as pleasurable during sex.

Invented by a Danish Medical Doctor, Lassa Hessel, first manufactured in the U.S. by the Female Health Company and approved for use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 1993, the female condom is not only a device against sexually transmitted diseases, but was supposed to be a major contraceptive without side effects.

However, as huge as the population of women is in Nigeria, some medical experts and counsellors told our correspondents that very few women in the country had tried it.

"If you assess 100 women, don't be surprised that only two would tell you they had used it either once or twice. Again, those who have used it may just have experimented. So it is not like they are consistent in using it," Mrs. Titilayo Adebayo, said a marriage counsellor with one of the new generation churches in Lagos, western Nigeria.

Mrs. Adebayo explained that many of the women were not quite aware of the existence of female condoms and where some are aware, they may not have seen it.

It was learnt that this ignorance is not only common among the less literate, but cuts across.

The low awareness could also have resulted from the fact that unlike the male condom which can be bought anywhere, the female condom is not accessible and can mostly be found in hospitals and other health centres.

Tejumola Omolaja, a 32-year-old mother of two, said that she had only seen the female condom once and that was during the ante-natal
for her second child.

"That day, the female health worker taught us how to use it to
prevent pregnancies and how it could be used against contracting sexually transmitted diseases.

"But many of us were put off because the procedure is cumbersome. Unlike the male condom which you just fix when the man is ready, the woman passes through many 'festivities' trying to insert the female condom into her vagina," she said.

Dupe Okeowo, a computer operator, has only seen a photograph of the female condom on the internet. She has not seen it physically but disclosed that she could try it if she eventually finds one.

A female lawyer, who refused to disclose her name, said she would never use the female condom because it hinders the pleasure that comes with love-making.

The woman, who said she got a free condom during an enlightenment campaign by a non-governmental organisation last year, explained that it was not a palatable experience using it.

"I decided to experiment with it, but believe me, it was not enjoyable at all. That night was terrible. My husband waited endlessly for me to
insert it and when I finally did, there was no pleasure derived.

"At a time, I had to take it out so as not to frustrate my husband," she said.

She explained that the female condom has two rings at both ends. While one of the rings is inserted into the vagina, the other ring stays
outside the vagina during intercourse.

She said it is preferable for men to use condoms since the use of male condom does not stop the man or woman from reaching their points of excitement.

Nkechi Obi, a commercial sex worker in Lagos, confessed that she had never seen a female condom since she began her trade four years ago.

While speaking with our correspondent at the Agege area of the state, she maintained that commercial sex workers prefer the male condom.

"Many of those we work together have not seen or used the female condom before. Though I have heard of it, I have not seen or touched one.

"What we make use of is the male condom, it is cheap and affordable. Gold Circle is between N30 and N50. We all have packs. So when a
customer doesn't come with a condom, we give him one," she said.

Findings show that while the male condom goes for between N30 and N200 and come in different brands and between four and 12 per pack, a pack of female condoms could go for between N1,000 and N1,500 depending on where it is being sold.

"This could also be one of the reasons women get discouraged about the female condom," a nurse who simply gave her name as Mrs. Toyin explained .

Explaining reasons why she would not use the female condom, a teacher, Josephine Jaiyeola, said the time it takes to get it fixed is a major discouraging factor.

"Moreover, for a woman to be able to successfully insert it, she must be fully lubricated. What then would happen if you find a man that is not patient enough for you?

"Some men would even take their reasoning beyond the ordinary when they see you wearing one during love-making. For me, it is a no no. I
can't use it," she said.

Surprisingly, however, some of the women who responded, said they do not like the use of condom even by men during intercourse.

"If my husband talks about using condoms, it simply means there is an issue with trust," Mrs. Justina Ini, a fashion designer, said.

"There are other ways we can prevent pregnancy and this includes family planning," she said.

Veronica Areola, Assistant Director for the Centre for Research on Women and Gender at the University of Illinois, Chicago, noted that apart from price, the female condom is not being used in the U.S. due to social stigma about the product and lack of education on how to use it.

"I don't know how many people know that these female condoms are available," she said in one of her published opinions.

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo joked that he would be sent to prison if he commented on FIFA's decision to hand rival Lionel Messi the Golden Ball at the World Cup.

Ronaldo, who won UEFA's European Player of the Year award on Thursday, refused to comment on the Argentina captain being named the star of the tournament in Brazil in the summer.

Messi helped his side to the World Cup final, where the South Americans were beaten 1-0 in the final, but Ronaldo hinted that he felt the Barcelona man was not a worthy winner of the award.

Ronaldo, speaking to Portuguese TV channel TVI, said on Messi: 'If I said everything that I think, I would be in prison.

'Everyone can see, make their own judgements, the people in the world of football are intelligent.

'It would be a very interesting question for him. I cannot be honest about it.

'Each one does his job, each one delivers his best.

Both want to be the best. For me, in my mind, I am the best.'

Messi scored four goals and claimed one assist during the World Cup and was electric during the group stage.

However, he faded and missed a great chance to put Argentina ahead in the final.

Three hotel attendants, who allegedly recorded a customer's sexual affair and demanded a ransom of N10 million, were on Thursday charged before an Ogudu Chief Magistrates' Court in Lagos.

The employees had used the hotel's CCTV to record the guest's sexual exploit with his girlfriend.

The accused: Sunday Okon, 23; Rita Emmanuel, 28; and Goodness Akpan, 24, whose addresses are unknown, are facing a four-count charge of fraud, demanding property with menace, conspiracy and indecent practices.

Prosecutor Uche Simon told the court that the accused had on 13 August at a hotel in Ogudu area of Lagos conspired to record a guest while sleeping with his girlfriend.

According to him, the accused produced a VCD on it which they circulated to residents of the area.

He alleged that they also demanded a N10 million ransom and threatened to post it on the social media platform, Facebook if the man failed to part with the money.

"The accused actually posted it on the Facebook between August 13 and 23."

Simon said the offences contravened Sections 136, 166 (d), 299 and 409 of Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

NAN reports that the accused may be sentenced to a minimum of three years each if convicted.

The trio however pleaded not guilty and were granted bail in the sum of N100, 000 each with two sureties each in like sum.

NAN also reports that the three attendants were taken to Kirikiri Prisons pending the fulfillment of their bail conditions.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs O. J. Awope, adjourned the case till 19 September for mention.

After months of speculation over the marriage crisis between Christ Embassy's Pastor, Chris Oyakhilome and wife, a new report claims the latter has now filed for a divorce in a London court.

In an exclusive report published by Cable News, the wife is seeking a divorce on the grounds of "unreasonable behaviour" and "adultery".

She allegedly outlined several allegations against the Pastor which cannot be published for legal reasons.

The divorce case, with Suit No FD14D01650, was filed on April 9, 2014 at Divorce Section A, Central
Family Court, First Avenue House, High Holborn, London, UK, on Anita's behalf by Attwaters Jameson Hill Solicitors, a full-service law firm with expertise in commercial law and a strong consumer focus in family, wills and estate, personal injury law and medical negligence.

According to the online portal, Pastor Chris had been making efforts to avoid divorce in the hope that the wife would eventually have a change of mind, however, Decree nissi was served on the charismatic pastor in his hotel room during a recent visit to the UK.

Decree nissi, in legal terms, is like a yellow card in a football match which is a precursor to a red card
("decree absolute") if no new evidence is provided to stall proceedings.

Church insiders said Oyakhilome had been hoping for rapprochement, but he was left with no option than to receive the papers when the lawyers cornered him at his hotel in London. The decree absolute, which will effectively end the marriage, is
expected to be issued soon while terms of the divorce will be worked out by the lawyers on both sides.

Anita recently wanted to go public with the details of her allegations against the husband but reached an informal agreement to sheathe her sword in the interest of the church.

Recall that some church members had sometime in May 10, 2014 launched a facebook campaign, asking: "Where is Rev. Anita Oyakhilome?"

They said Pastor Chris and Rev. Anita must unite "for the sake of the gospel, the church and their two beautiful daughters". They quoted Malachi 2:16 in the Message Bible: "I hate divorce, says the God of Israel."

The facebook page, which has over 3,300 "likes", was opened with a stated mission: "This is a Call to Prayer for all believers who understand God's heart concerning marriage and a Call to Action by Pst.
Chris. #DoWhatYouPreach".

Officials of the church quickly moved to deny any rift between the
pastor couple.

One official, Kenneth Achumasara,
told the media last June thus:

"I can tell you authoritatively that there is no issue between Pastor Chris and his wife, Anita… If you go to the UK now, you will see her along with the kids. She is still with him and there is no issue between them. I have been with him for 22 years and the Pastor Chris I know cannot even utter such words as reported. He will never address such a gathering. She will soon be in Nigeria for a programme and I will definitely invite you to have access to her."

Oyakhilome is the President of Believers' Love World Inc, the registered name of the Christian
ministry, while his wife is the Vice President.

They have two teenage daughters, Sharon and Charlyn.

Colombian pop star Shakira is expecting her second child with Spanish footballer Gerard Pique, she said in an interview published
Thursday.

"The truth is that yes, I'm pregnant," the multi-Grammy-winning singer told the Latin American edition of Cosmopolitan magazine.

The exclusive interview confirmed rumors that swirled after she performed at the closing ceremony of the World Cup last month with what some viewers said appeared to be a slight curve in her normally flat belly.

Shakira, 37, did not say how far into her pregnancy she was.

Her first son, Milan, is just over a year and a half old.

"Seeing myself in love is a constant state, and there are no questions, the answer is just there… you are the living answer," she told Cosmopolitan, which put her on the cover of its September issue and entitled the article "The perfect world of the Latin icon."

Shakira and Pique, 27, met at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and went public with their relationship in early 2011.

President Goodluck Jonathan has formally launched a national electronic identity card, which all Nigerians will have to have by 2019 if they want to vote.

He received the first biometric card, which can also be used to make electronic payments.

MasterCard is providing the prepaid payment element and it hopes millions of Nigerians without bank accounts will now gain access to
financial services.

An attempt to introduce national ID cards in Nigeria 10 years ago failed.

Analysts blame corruption for its failure, and say the same problems may stymie the new e-ID scheme.

"The card is not only a means of certifying your identity, but also a personal database repository and payment card, all in your pocket,"
President Jonathan said at the launch in the capital, Abuja.

"I have taken keen interest in this project, primarily because of the pervasive impact it can have on every facet of the socio-economic fabric of our dear nation," he said.

According to Nigeria's central bank, about 30 per cent of the country's 167 million inhabitants have access to bank accounts, Bloomberg news agency reports.

MasterCard said combining an identity card with a payment card for those aged 16 and over was a significant move.

"It breaks down one of the most significant barriers to financial inclusion – proof of identity,"
MasterCard's Daniel Monehin said in a statement.

The new cards show a person's photograph, name, age and unique ID number – and 10 fingerprints and an iris are scanned during enrolment.

These details are intended to ensure that there are no duplicates on the system.

During the pilot phase, which began registering names last October, 13 million MasterCard-branded ID cards will be issued.

There are enrolment centres in all 36 states and there is no fee to get the card, though people will be charged in the event that it needs to be replaced.

The Nigerian Identity Management Commission, which is behind the rollout, is trying to integrate several government databases including those for driving licences, voter registration, health insurance, taxes and pensions.

Joan Rivers has reportedly been rushed to hospital.

The 81-year-old star was reportedly undergoing an operation on her throat when she stopped breathing.

According to TMZ, Joan was having the surgery at a clinic and the procedure was on her vocal cords.

The site reports she stopped breathing, which is when she was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.

The comic star's daughter Melissa is said to be on her way to be with her mother.

At the moment no further information is available and the specifics of Joan's operation have not been released.

Joan is best known for her acerbic tongue, which she regularly shows off on TV show Fashion Police! in which she and a panel comment on stars' outfits. Just this week singer Jessie J appeared on the programme, with the group discussing the looks donned at the Emmy Awards in Los Angeles on Monday.

As well as passing comment on clothing, Joan often talks about other stars. Justin Bieber has come in for a tongue lashing in the past, although recently the comedian insisted she is generally misunderstood.

"Every day there's a regret, but I don't dwell on the past," she told the US edition of OK! magazine. "I know this sounds corny, but, in real life, I try to be as nice as I can be.

As I'm getting older I'm getting crankier, but I try to live up to that and that's all I can do."

Cameroon's 56-goal all-time leading scorer Samuel Eto'o has announced his retirement from international football.

The new Everton signing will not be going to the Africa Cup of Nations in January and will be available for the rest of the Premier League season.

Former Chelsea striker Eto'o joined Everton on a free transfer on Tuesday.

"I wish to inform you that I hereby put a definitive end to my international career," he said on his
Instagram page.

"On this occasion, I wish to thank all Africans in particular and all my fans around the world for their love and unconditional support."

The former Barcelona, Inter and Real Madrid player made his international debut in 1997 during a 5-0 defeat to Costa Rica.

He made his final appearance for the Indomitable Lions against Mexico during the 2014 Fifa World Cup.

A 33-year-old applicant, Chineye Chinwuba, has alleged that her attempt to terminate the love affair she had with the Chief Executive Officer of Chisco Transport Limited, Chidi Anyaegbu, was what led to her being charged before an Igbosere magistrate's court for threatening the transporter's life.

Vanguard reports that the defendant, who is facing a one-count charge preferred against her
by the police, was docked before Magistrate Nike Olagbende. The prosecutor, Superintendent of Police Agustine Onwuemene, told the court that the defendant committed the offence between November 2013 and August 20, 2014, at about 4pm, at 15 Ruxton road at Ikoyi area of Lagos.

He said that she sent a threat text message to one Chief Chidi Anyaegbu, Chief Executive Officer of Chisco Transport Limited, that she was going to eliminate him and his family and that they will go to hell fire for eternity. According to
the prosecutor, the offence is punishable under Section 230 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State
of Nigeria, 2011.

Earlier, the defendant had pleaded not guilty to the one count charge against her.

Her counsel, Amaka Nwafor, urged the court to grant the defendant bail in the most liberal term, adding that the matter is just an allegation
until the suspect is proven guilty.

The prosecutor said he was not going to oppose the bail application, adding that he has two witnesses in court, saying although the complainant was not in court, there was a representative from his company.

Nwafor, however, told the magistrate that the matter could not be conducted in proxy, that the
complaint has to be in court too.

The defendant also told the open court that it was Anyaegbu who brought her to Lagos from Onitsha in Anambra State on August 5, 2012.

She said Anyaegbu was her lover and that they started dating immediately she got to Lagos, adding that their initial agreement was for him to help her get a job which he promised but failed to do.

According to her, the two started having an affair in 2012, which made the Chisco boss to give her a two-room apartment in one of his houses in Lekki.

She said:

"I told him I was quitting the relationship and ever since then, he has been harassing me.

Last December, he took me to Tinubu magistrate's court, alleging that I stole his N1.5 million. He told me that the only way he could forget about the matter was for me to continue with the relationship. I only sent him an insulting text message, I never sent
him a death threat.

On March 15, he sent at least eight thugs to my house and they threw my things and my little boy out. The people in the compound were aware of the incident. He then said he had rented another apartment for me at Ikoyi, which is where I am currently living but I insisted the relationship could not continue.

Last Sunday, while I was at home, a Police Inspector came in to my apartment and told me that I was under arrest. The case at the Tinubu court is still ongoing.''

Magistrate Olagbende granted the defendant bail in the sum of N25,000 and one responsible surety in like sum.

She adjourned the matter till September 8, 2014 for trial.

He was Arsenal's Spanish goalkeeper and he almost ended up in goal for England, now Manuel Almunia has been forced to quit the game because of a heart problem.

The 37-year-old was hoping to prolong his career at Serie A side Cagliari but a cardiac problem was discovered during a club medical and confirmed after further tests at Padua.

Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini, speaking to the Italian press, said on Almunia: 'It was picked up in the first visits to Cagliari and confirmed after further tests in Padua (specialist heart hopsital).'

The former Arsenal keeper who also played for West Ham and Watford is understood to have been diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy a disease of the heart tissue that causes it to thicken and sometimes cause Sudden Cardiac Death in sportsmen.

The Igbo community in Lagos will tomorrow, Thursday, shutdown their businesses for four hours in honour of the late former Minister of Information and Communication, Prof Dora Akunyili.

She will be buried in Agulu, Anambra State same day.

Chairman, Schofield Media Consult, Chief Obi Okoli, has expressed gratitude to Anambra State indigenes and Nigerians in general for electing to celebrate Akunyili in death.

Rising from a dinner/interactive
session for Igbo market leaders and
stakeholders, on the platform
of 'Ndigboamaka' a non-governmental organisation of South East, Ndigbo Lagos in solidarity agreed that they would close down their businesses from 8am-12noon
tomorrow, as a mark of honour for the late Akunyili.

National coordinator of South East Ndigbo Lagos, Nze Basil Osuokwu stated in Lagos that the market
leaders agreed not to do business for four hours to show that they and Ndigbo, in general, recognised the invaluable achievements of Akunyili.

He also added that the market leaders were happy with what Akunyili did as director general of the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and as minister of information.

He stated that Ndigbo were immeasurably proud of Akunyili, and urged other Nigerians in public service to imitate her honesty, dedication, hard work and integrity.

Chief Okoli, while thanking Nigerians for resolving to celebrate Akunyili in death, stated that the late minister did show "extraordinary ability of inner beauty and courage", which, he said, "illuminated our universe all through her life. She left an indelible mark on every task she handled, both within and outside the state".

He stated that Akunyili had united the world in grief, a thing he said,
"will forever remain in the annals of the Nigerian history".

Okoli encouraged Anambra women to emulate Akunyili's track record and continue from where she stopped in making the state "a pacesetter in good virtues and positive leadership."

He advised women to use the forum of the annual August meeting to immortalise the former NAFDAC
boss in their own way as well as remain good ambassadors of Anambra's positive virtues.

He thanked Governor Willie Obiano's wife, Mrs. Ebelechukwu
Obiano, for putting every necessary
arrangement in place "in ensuring that our dear women honoured Professor Akunyili in her last journey home".

The patient, whose name is yet to be made public, was said to have returned from Lagos and tested positive to the virus while on admission at a Private hospital in D-line area of the state capital.

Reports from the Rivers Government House indicated that Governor Amaechi has cancelled his proposed tour of Obio-Akpor Local
government area.

In the meantime, the state Ministry of health has called for a media briefing possibly with regard to the current development.

Embattled President of the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, Aminu Maigari has reportedly been arrested by the State Security Service agent in Abuja.

Mr Maigari is said to have been arrested today August 26th alongside Musa Amadu the NFF
Secretary General and Chris Green, a board member, as proceedings for the General meeting of the NFF began at Chida Hotel in Abuja.

Reason for their arrest has not yet been disclosed.

Embattled Maigari was recently reinstated as Chairman of the NFF by FIFA after being impeached by the NFF Board members in July.

As football politicians continue to jostle for who controls the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the Federal Fire Service yesterday said the report of its investigation of last week's fire incident that gutted the secretariat of the football house will be ready next week.

Assistant Controller General, Toyo Peter Adeoye who made the assurance in a chat with journalists in Abuja after he led a team of fire officers to inspect the scene said that his department would not leave
any stone unturned in its quest to unravel the remote and immediate causes of the fire.

He said that despite the fact that not much has been heard since the incident, his agency has continued to carry out series of investigations since then.

Adeoye added that notwithstanding the hasty hiring of an industrial cleaning outfit by the leadership of
the NFF to clean up the place, their investigations will not in any way be hampered. He advised members of
the public to be patient with the investigators.

"We are still investigating and we cannot come out with any statement for now. There are a lot of factors
involved, but I cannot tell you what the factors are for now because we are still investigating".

He equally revealed that they have been inviting members of staff and the security men on ground on the fateful day to testify. He assured the report would be made public in due course.

"Let them wipe away whatever they like, we will still ask questions. We were here on the first and second day and we are still here today just to make sure we get everything right. We are writing our report
already and we will complete it by the end of this week" he assured.

Recall that the wing of the secretariat housing the offices of the chief accountant, the general secretary, the ICT unit and parts of the marketing department were completely razed by the fire which started after members of staff had reported to duty.

Barring any change in decision, Stephen Keshi will return as Nigeria coach for the September 6 Africa Nations Cup qualifier against Congo in Calabar.

Keshi, whose contract ended with the 2014 World Cup, said on a television interview monitored in Lagos that he was returning "on patriotic grounds."

"I want to respect the wishes of Nigerians and the appeal by the sports minister to handle the team at least for the two games.

"The need to answer the patriotic call and respect the wishes of Nigerians informed my coming for the key games. We worked so hard
to win the Nations Cup in South Africa, I think we should do all that we can to defend it in Morocco next year," he added on AIT's SportsExtra on Monday.

Only last week Keshi had said that he was moving on having got tired of waiting for the Nigeria Football Federation. He said he lost several opportunities while waiting for the NFF but was now pushing other available opening's outside the country.

Keshi's contract talk with the NFF has suffered delay due to the wrangling at the football governing body and the differences with the
coach in the details of the proposed contract.

The federation is offering to maintain the N5m-a-month deal they had with him during his first
tenure while Keshi is reportedly asking for N15m to renew the contract. The PUNCH also learnt that Keshi wants just a year contract with the option to renew, while the NFF members want him sign a four-year deal.

Meanwhile, Congo, who replaced Rwanda for the match, have submitted a letter to the Confederation of African Football requesting for the relocation of their Group A opener of the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2015 qualifier against Nigeria, scheduled for in Calabar.

The 'Diables Rouges' are concerned with the recent Ebola outbreak in Nigeria.

"I think that would be difficult and risky to play in this area. As a matter of fact, neighbouring Cameroon have closed their borders," Congo coach Claude Leroy explained in a report carried by Africanfootball.com.

The spread of the deadly virus in West Africa has already led CAF to ask for the relocation of Guinea versus Togo and Sierra-Leone versus DR Congo, while some question marks have been raised about Côte d'Ivoire versus Sierra Leone game.

Congo booked their spot in the qualifiers of the continental showpiece after the Rwandans were
barred from taking part for fielding ineligible striker Dady Birori.

Some 480 Nigerian soldiers have fled into Cameroon following fierce
fighting with Boko Haram militants,
Cameroon's army has said.

Army spokesman Lt Col Didier Badjek said the soldiers had been disarmed and were now being accommodated in schools.

Clashes are said to be continuing in the border town of Gamboru Ngala.

Boko Haram on Sunday released a video in which it said it had established an Islamic state in the towns and villages it controls in north-eastern Nigeria.

Another social media love tragedy has occurred in Lagos after a homosexual allegedly murdered the male sex partner he met on Facebook in a hotel room in Lagos.

A similiar incident happened in Festac in 2012 when Cynthia Osokogu's facebook lovers lured her to Lagos and allegedly murdered her in a hotel room in Festac Town, Lagos.

In the latest incident, the police at State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti Yaba, arrested
the 24-year old suspected murderer, Michael Okorocha, and the manager of the popular hotel at Oke Afa area of Lagos State, western Nigeria, over the murder of the 20-year old youth identified as Okere Chinedu John.

Okorocha allegedly used a jack knife and sliced John's throat in the hotel room and he bled to death.

P.M.NEWS learnt that Okorocha and the late John suspected to be homosexuals, met on social media and became friends.

According to police sources, Okorocha, who resides at Mafon Area in Ogun State, allegedly lured John who resides in Lekki-Ajah area of Lagos State to the hotel to have sex with him.

The police sources said that while they were inside the room, John resisted Okorocha's attempt to have sex with him and in anger, Okorocha used a knife and sliced John's throat and he bled to death.

After the incident, Okorocha reportedly lied to the hotel staff on duty that he wanted to buy something outside the hotel and escaped.

The following when the management went on routine check in the rooms at the hotel, they discovered the naked body of John with blood all over the room.

The matter was reported at Ejigbo police Station and the manager was arrested. The police later tracked down Okorocha through the help of his parents in Mafon area.

The matter was transferred to SCID, Panti, Yaba for further investigation.

Okorocha reportedly confessed to the police that he murdered John in anger.

He said after paying to lodge in the executive suite, John refused to satisfy him sexually, so he had to kill him.

When our reporter visited the hotel at the weekend, the hotel was still shut by the police.

A staff of the hotel who confirmed the incident declined to speak further on the matter.

The police have charged Okorocha before Ebute Meta Magistrates' court with murder.

He was remanded in prison custody at Ikoyi Prison pending the advice of the Directorate of Public Prosecution, DDP.

In 2012, four suspects were arrested in connection with the murder of the daughter of a retired Major, Cynthia Osokogu.

The suspects are Okwumo Echezona Nwabufor, 33, Ezike Ilechukwu Olisaeloka, 23, Orji Osita, 32, and Maduakor Chukwunonso, 25.

They were slammed with an eight-count charge of murder, armed robbery, administering the late Cynthia with obnoxious substance known as Rohyenol via Ribena fruit drink, among others.

According to the charge, the suspects also had unlawful sexual intercourse with the victim without her consent.

Cynthia Osokogu, the only daughter of retired Major Frank Osokogu, was a post graduate student and boutique owner based in Nassarawa State.

She met the undergraduates, who later murdered her, through social networking site Facebook.

The principal suspects allegedly confessed to the police that they lured her to Lagos from her base in Nassarawa State under the pretext that they are also into clothing business.

After receiving her at the Murtala Muhammed airport in Lagos, they took her to a hotel in Festac Town.

Eloka said they later put Rohyenol tablet in her Ribena drink and slept with her for about 12 hours.

After discovering that Cynthia did not have a lot of money on her as they earlier presumed, they raped her for 12 hours and later strangled her.

Following the arrest and subsequent parade of Olisaeloka and his cousin, Nwabufor, over the murder of Cynthia, three more ladies came forward, saying they were once victims of the alleged murderers.

The three women reportedly went to Festac Police Command to write a statement about how they were drugged, raped and robbed by the
suspects now facing trial.

Germany has won the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup for a record-equalling third time after a hard-fought 1-0 win over Nigeria at Montreal's Olympic Stadium, Canada.

Lena Petermann scored the title-winning goal eight minutes into extra time to settle a match that, like the semi-final against France, had seen the Germans outplayed for long stretches. For the second match in succession, though, the
Europeans' will to win shone through, as did the quality of goalkeeper Meike Kamper – again
named player of the match.

Nigeria, who had given so much to the match, proved unable to respond. Germany saw out the
remaining minutes with a degree of comfort and can now savour the familiar feeling of being crowned champions of the world.

In a 52 minute video made available to AFP, the leader of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau, declared the creation of an Islamic caliphate in
Gwoza town in Borno state seized by the sect early this month.

According to AFP, Shekau declared that Gwoza now has 'nothing to do with Nigeria'.

"Thanks be to Allah who gave victory to our brethren in (the town of) Gwoza and made it part of the Islamic caliphate. By the grace of
Allah we will not leave the town. We have come to stay," said Shekau

Find the excerpts of the transcribed speech by Shekau after the cut. Meanwhile the Nigerian Military has reacted to Shekau's claims, saying the claim is empty. The military says appropriate military operations to secure Gwoza from activities of the bandits is still ongoing.

Excerpts of the transcribed speech by Mr. Shekau below... "I chose to deliver this message in order to refute the lies being spread by the government, about the operations we had in recent times.

"We warn the vigilantes called civilian JTF to back off; if not, there will be no place for them to hide. We have evidence of how you
killed some of our brethren whom you would ask if they were Boko Haram members before you killed them. We know how you humiliated them by asking them if they had ever carried guns or killed someone…We know everything about the evil you committed against our brethren.

"We still have the magnanimity of asking you to repent because you will never succeed in this way by the grace of Allah. And I swear by
Allah that we will never stop killing you, because Allah commanded us to kill people like you. If we pity you and spare you, one day you will become infidels. So, to us, having pity on you is an act of disbelief.

You can continue to run or hide your identities in women's attire, but we will get to you and remove the women's clothing off of you.

Then, while you are shouting for mercy, we will strike, smash your heads and kill you all.

Even if you don't do anything to us we will kill you...We would do it even to avenge our brethren. You killed our brethren in large numbers.

"We don't joke with religion (quoting from the Koran). There is no hypocrisy in this religion. It is only the truth.

"We are not proud of our strength, nor with our weapons nor with anything we have but we are only proud of victory from Allah the
exalted. Victory is only from God.

Who is America in the sight of Allah? Who is America in the sight of Allah? Who is Israel in the sight of Allah? Who is France in the sight of Allah?"

Manchester United have concluded negotiations with Real Madrid and will pay a British record £63.9million for winger Angel di Maria, according to Sky sources.

The 26-year-old Argentina international is expected to fly into Manchester on Monday to hold talks with United next week with the hope of being ready to face Burnley at Turf moor next Saturday.

When the transfer is finalised, the fee will be a record in Britain, eclipsing the £50m Chelsea paid for
Fernando Torres three years ago.

According to Sky Sports' Spanish football expert Guillem Balague, United initially offered €60m and
Madrid wanted €90m, with the two clubs eventually agreeing on €80m (£63.9m).

After watching United stumble to a 1-1 draw at Sunderland on Sunday afternoon, Gary Neville told Sky Sports: "It's good business. United have lost their negotiation strength but they just need to get the right players. This one is.

"He'll get pace into the game and get from box to box. He's the right signing. You could argue they need
other players in other areas but they definitely need a wide player."

United manager Louis van Gaal refused to confirm or deny a deal had been agreed for the Argentine in his post-match interview with Sky Sports.

"The club has to announce it," he. said. "When we are thinking it is the right time for a transfer, then we come to you and say 'OK, we have that player or the other player'. But at this time we cannot say anything."

When asked if Di Maria is a player he would like to sign, Van Gaal confirmed he is but added: "I like
Messi also and I like Vidal also so we have a lot of players in this world that I like but they cannot come always to Manchester United."

Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti confirmed on Sunday the player had come to the club's training base to bid farewell to his team-mates and the club's staff.

"Di Maria has not trained with us and he came in to say goodbye to the players and people at the club,"
Ancelotti said.

"We are thankful for what he has done at this club.

There is nothing official yet but it is being sorted out."

Despite winning man of the match in Real's Champions League final triumph over city rivals Atletico last season, Di Maria was deemed
expendable by club president Florentino Perez following the arrival of World Cup top-scorer James Rodriguez from Monaco.

That put Di Maria's place in Ancelotti's starting 11 in jeopardy and, when contract talks between the player and club stalled, with Di Maria feeling club officials were failing to recognise his value and contribution to the team, the decision was made to sell.

The Real manager maintains the decision to leave was made by the player and hinted the Spanish giants will be looking for a replacement before the window closes.

"The decision is his and the club has done what it could to keep him here but he thought differently and so good luck to him," Ancelotti said.

"I am very happy with the work that he has done for Madrid but we have the chance to replace him well."

The fiancé of a nurse who died of Ebola has been discharged from the Ebola treatment center in Lagos after his third test came out negative.

Dennis, who was late Justina Obi Ejelonu's fiancé had been quarantined and later admitted into treatment after two tests confirmed that he was positive. However, yesterday evening Dennis was discharged from the treatment center with a certificate of clearance. He walked off the center in good health according top doctors who spoke anonymously with Saharareporters.

Dennis story is a powerful one, he refused to  abandon his fiancé despite her being diagnosed with
Ebola. He told Saharareporters that Justina lost a two-month pregnancy, vomited severally on him while she collapsed and had to be carried to hospital by him. After, Justina was admitted he hung around the hospital , occasionally going into the Ebola ward to cater for her as nurses and doctors abandoned the nurse to her fate at the treatment center.

Fourteen days after Justina died, Dennis had high temperature, instead of panicking he turned himself in to the treatment center for observation. An initial test led the center to quarantine him, and a second test came positive leading the center to admit him to treatment but yesterday evening he was fully discharged after a third test carried out by international affiliates of the center came out negative.

A second spouse of a deceased doctor who had primary contact with Liberian -American Thomas Sawyer who was admitted yesterday with Dennis remains hospitalized at the center, currently undergoing treatment.

The Nigerian Medical Association,
NMA, has suspended its over two-
month old strike.

Its President, Kayode Obembe, who
disclosed the development to newsmen, said the association's delegates resolved to suspend the industrial action in the interest of the ongoing public health issues in
the country.

Mr. Obembe said the delegates also resolved among others that the Federal Government recall all suspended resident doctors without punitive measures.

He therefore directed all Nigerian
doctors to report to work on Monday.

The Doctors had been sharply divided over whether or not to suspend the strike in the face of outbreak of the Ebola virus in Nigeria.

Cameroonian Albert Ebosse has died after being hit by an object thrown by spectators following a game in Algeria.

Ebosse, who was 24, was declared dead after being taken to hospital in Tizi Ouzou, east of the capital
Algiers.

The JS Kabylie striker, who had scored in a 2-1 home defeat by USM Alger, was hit when fans started throwing objects from the stands as the teams returned to their changing rooms after the game.

The Algerian interior ministry has ordered an investigation.

Ebosse was the leading scorer in the Algerian league in the 2013-14 season, with 17 goals.

A statement from Ebosse's club said he had "succumbed to a head injury" after being struck at the end of the match.

Opponents USM Alger described the news of Ebosse's death as a "bombshell" and said it was "terrible" and "saddening".

It added: "In these painful circumstances, USM Alger and its members send their deepest condolences to the family of the deceased and to JS Kabylie. May
Albert Ebosse rest in peace."

further to pursue his passion for football abroad," wrote Hayatou.

He added: "African football cannot be the breeding ground for hooliganism whatsoever. We expect
exemplary sanctions to be taken against this grave act of violence."

Manchester United have made a breakthrough in their pursuit of Angel Di Maria with the Real Madrid
star having decided he wants to join Louis van Gaal's side, Goal understands.

The 26-year-old has emerged as the club's top transfer target and United are ready to pay in excess
of £45 million to get their man.

Goal revealed back in July that an agreement between the Premier League club and Real Madrid was close and now Di Maria's desire to link up with Van Gaal should push the deal over the line.

The former Benfica star's Madrid career is all but over, with boss Carlo Ancelotti revealing on Thursday that Di Maria had asked to leave the club having rejected a new deal to prolong his stay at the
Bernabeu .

The summer arrivals of James Rodriguez and Toni Kroos have nudged Di Maria down the Los Blancos pecking order, with the Argentine being left of the squad for the Supercopa de Espana defeat to Atletico Madrid on Friday.

Paris Saint-Germain have long been linked with a summer move for Di Maria, although they pulled out of the race to sign the winger at the beginning of August, leaving the path clear for United .

Goal understands that United are still to agree a fee with Madrid although with Di Maria now set on a
move to Old Trafford, Van Gaal's side hold the aces in negotiations with the Liga giants.

United kicked off their Premier League campaign in disastrous fashion with a 2-1 home defeat to
Swansea City on the opening weekend of the season.

Argentina international defender Marcos Rojo has since arrived in a £16 million deal, with Nani heading
to Sporting Lisbon on loan as part of the deal, as Van Gaal looks to improve his squad prior to the summer window closing.

But it is the signing of Di Maria, a player of the quality that Van Gaal openly admitted his side are missing, that would make the biggest statement as the Dutch
coach looks to get United back on track in the hunt for the top-four and potentially a Premier League title push.
