Samuel Eto'o Retires From International Football

Cameroon's 56-goal all-time leading scorer Samuel Eto'o has announced his retirement from international football.

The new Everton signing will not be going to the Africa Cup of Nations in January and will be available for the rest of the Premier League season.

Former Chelsea striker Eto'o joined Everton on a free transfer on Tuesday.

"I wish to inform you that I hereby put a definitive end to my international career," he said on his
Instagram page.

"On this occasion, I wish to thank all Africans in particular and all my fans around the world for their love and unconditional support."

The former Barcelona, Inter and Real Madrid player made his international debut in 1997 during a 5-0 defeat to Costa Rica.

He made his final appearance for the Indomitable Lions against Mexico during the 2014 Fifa World Cup.
