Cosby suffered yet another
consequence of his alleged rape scandal last week when his alma mater, The University of Massachusetts Amherst, severed its ties with him.
According to the
Boston Globe, Cosby, who received a master's and a doctorate in education from the college, was an honorary co-chairman of the school's on-going $300 million fund-raising campaign. He and his wife, Camille, donated several hundred thousand dollars to the school and he was frequently cited in the past as one of the university's most notable alumni.
But last Wednesday, the school asked Bill Cosby to step down from the capital campaign due to the rape allegations. And Cosby agreed to do so. The university's spokesman Edward Blaguszewski later said in a statement:
"Bill Cosby no longer has any affiliation with the campaign nor does he serve in any capacity for the university."
