FORMER Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala of Oyo State made good his threat as he got the governorship ticket of Labour Party.
Akala, who until Wednesday was a chieftain of the PDP had complained bitterly about handling of  the PDP  primaries that produced  former Senate leader, Teslim Folarin.

The five aspirants that withdrew for Akala’s emergence include Mr. Sarafadeen Alli, former Chairman, Odu’a Investment Limited, Nurudeen Akinyo, Kazeem Adedeji, Comrade Olu Abiala and Olatunji Sadiq.
The motion to adopt Akala as party’s flag bearer was subsequently moved by Lowo Obisesan, a former Commissioner under Governor Abiola Ajimobi and seconded by Popoola Igbeti.
In his acceptance speech, Akala described his emergence as the beginning of victory over darkness.
He told the crowd at the gathering that the recent events led to “this very bold step. A step that has put stop to rumours, gist and speculation within the political circuit in Oyo State and Nigeria at large”.
“No politician or group of people have ever being a monopoly of winning formula for all elections till date. The indices keep on changing every season even while our generalisimo late Chief Lamidi Ariyibi Adedibu was alive”.
“This year, against all expectations, something unique and historical happened. That has always been the peculiarity of political algebra in Oyo state and this has continually gone beyond any human ability or permutation”.
