The All Progressives Congress Presidential candidate, Major General Muhammadu Buhari is expected to campaign in Lagos today

Buhari and his campaign team are expected at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere. According to APC chairman in Lagos state, Chief Henry Ajomale, the rally will begin at 10 a.m.
With expected volume of human and vehicular movement expected in Lagos on Friday, 30th January, 2015 for the presidential rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Teslim Balogun Stadium (TBS), Surulere, the Lagos State Government has announced plans to ensure free flow of traffic for the event.
The state Commissioner for Transport, Comrade Kayode Opeifa, while announcing the plan on Thursday, 29th January, 2015, stated that the ministry has deployed 500 personnel of the state Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) to the area to ensure free flow of traffic.
According to Opeifa, the early morning traffic will not be affected by the plan as vehicular and human movement towards the venue of the rally will be controlled by the LASTMA men on ground.
However, P.M. NEWS reliably gathered that as from 9:00 a.m., there will be traffic diversion of vehicles not connected with the rally from the Funsho Williams Avenue at Ojuelegba towards Itire to link Ogunlana Drive to connect Eko Bridge via Bode Thomas, Eric Moore and Adelabu.
From Eko Bridge, traffic will be diverted to Ojuelegba, Agege Motor Road and Ikorodu Road via Constain, Eric Moore, Bode Thomas, Adelabu, Ogunlana Drive, Itire Road, Mabo, Fashoro and Bishop Streets all in Surulere.
In the alternative to this, motorists are also advised to make use of the Third Mainland Bridge.
Opeifa also announced that there will be traffic situation broadcast every 15 minutes on the state Traffic Radio 96.1FM.
The commissioner appealed to all motorists and pedestrians to be cautious and cooperate with traffic officials and also obey traffic rules and regulations to ensure free flow of traffic during the rally period.
