Two buses conveying Madonna University students from Jalingo to the Southeastern part of Nigeria were involved in a fatal accident that left three students burnt to death.

The students boarded the TSTC buses to take them to school. However, on getting to Abakiliki, Ebonyi state, the buses were involved in an accident. One of the buses went up in flames, burning 3 students, on Friday October 3.

The names of the dead students have been revealed but as we are not sure if their families have been informed, they will not be published here.

Injured students were rushed to the hospital while those who survived took to Facebook to narrate the incident.

A student who survived wrote on Facebook:

One of my buses we chattered from Taraba state, containing only Madonna students (we chartered 2 buses) had an accident today around 6:PM, the bus somersaulted and caught fire immediately, the bus burnt beyond recognition, student were burnt inside the bus alive. 3 students were burnt to death beyond recognition (2 girls, 1 boy), 3 students managed to come out, but 1 broke her leg and head.

They were immediately rushed to the hospital (and they are all unconscious).

The buses contained 12 students (6 students in each bus, containing the driver, 7 people). It all happened in Ebonyi State, Abakiliki. (I don’t know the state of the driver, whether he survived or not.).

Currently I am in one police station in Abakalili, can’t travel again this night, I was actually in the bus in the beginning but later I changed to the other bus. (Thank God.) 5 girls and I’m the only boy in the second bus. We are all madonna students).

Men of the Edo State Police Command have arrested a 21-year old man, Samuel Emobor Oghenekporboro, for allegedly killing his mother and making love to her corpse several times for money ritual.

His 58 years old mother identified as Mrs Christiana Ighoyivwi was said to have been strangulated at their residence at 8B, Market road, Ologbo Community along Benin- Sapele road in Ikpoba-Okha local government area.

It was gathered that an herbalist had told the suspect that money would fall from heaven while making love with his mother’s corpse.

Sources said it was a grandmother of the suspect, Mrs Maria Gabriel, that caught him having sex with the corpse.

She was at the residence at about 6am to invite her late daughter to a nearby church for morning prayers when she caught the suspect.

The old woman was said to have knocked repeatedly on her daughter’s (victim) door but nobody responded and raised an alarm after peeing through the door.

The suspects who opened the door and attempted to escape was held by neighbours who handed him over to the police.

Sources said semen-stained pants belonging to the suspect and his late mother were recovered from the room as exhibits by the police.

It was gathered that the suspect told interrogators that he thought money would rain from heaven after killing his mother and making love to her.

Spokesman for Edo Police Command, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor, said investigation was ongoing saying the suspect would be arraigned soon.

In her new vlog, media personality/author/businesswoman, Toke Makinwa, spoke on long term relationships. According to her, dating the same guy for over 5 years and above is just a waste of time.

Toke who is divorced from ex-husband, Maje Ayide, said she is talking from experience as she has also being in a long term relationship. She stated that having a long term relationship does not translate to a happy married life when the couple decide to tie the knot.


''I do not understand why you should date someone for more than two and a half years. That is my take. I feel like if you meet someone, two years is decent, two and half years is decent, By three years, its like 'what again are your trying to find out'. What didn't you find out in the first and second year. I feel like 5 years is taking the piece and for seven years, you are absolutely having a laugh. By 10 years, it's like ''are you the lord of the rings? I can say this because I have been in a long term relationship so I can tell you how I feel about it. My answer is no because I feel like often times, long courtships do not translate to a happy marriage. Sometimes you find people who date forever and when they get married, they don't make it past that year or two or three years. You find people who get married in a year and a half and 10 years down the line, they are still together. When people show you who they are, you have to believe them.

If you find yourself in a five year, seven years 10 years relationship, it is enough for you to sit back and ask the guy what is going on and where are we going to? Why would you want to date someone for seven years. In that seven years, some people have gotten together, gotten married, had children, divorced and you are still this person's girlfriend. There is nothing that you would not find out in three years that you want to find out in eight years.



On the recent breakup between Cassie and Diddy, Toke said



Cassie and Diddy everyone is talking about. They dated for eleven years. She was a baby when they met. This was a girl who came out, had an amazing single, very stunning young lady, all of a sudden she started dating Diddy. A lot of people asked questions because we have all known Diddy as a guy who has found it had to commit. He has had babymamas, he was engaged for a very long time. He has never hidden the fact that he is not the commitment type of guy. I have always often wondered why Cassie stayed that long. This is a girl that could have done so much more in the last eleven years than traveling with Diddy, kissing him on Instalive and just being his girlfriend. If you are stuck in a relationship with someone who can empower you and all they would rather see you as is a hand bag, girl you should walk away. It semed like she was more into the relationship than her own self development. I don't kno her and this is not judgement against her because people do whatever it is that makes them happy but I feel that a lot of people tend to date for a long time, hoping that it would either lead to marriage and sometimes it's often not the case. And now Diddy is dating a younger girl. I almost cried when I heard it. A 26 year old girl.

Cassie if you ever watch the video, you have to upgrade. You have to go and find a Russian billionaire. You know the type if you don't like to work, they would keep you in Gucci and Gold for the rest of your life. Then just hire Diddy to perform at your wedding. Just hire him because you feel like paying him some coins. That is the best revenge you can give to a guy like that.

An 18-year-old housemaid, identified simply as Queen, is currently on the run after she allegedly stole her boss property reportedly worth N500,000.

It was gathered that the boss identified as Omowunmi Odejide had returned home from a birthday party around 8pm on the day of the incident to see her two children wandering in the compound.

Odejide said she asked of Queen from her neighbours who told her that she went out to buy something around 7pm and had yet to return.

The Osun State indigene, who noted that she was reluctant to go for the party, said Queen encouraged her to go.

The 37-year-old added that Queen went away with one box containing the goods she packed from her shop.

She further said Queen went away with her children’s clothes, designer wristwatches and sunshades.

She said:

“On Friday, October 19, I went out for a birthday party of one of my friends who turned 40. I did not want to go because I was not in a good mood, but Queen encouraged me to; I did not know that she had something up her sleeve.

“I left home around 12.48pm for Agege where the party held. I came back home around 8pm and met my neighbours and my children in the compound. I asked of my housemaid and one of my neighbours said she went to buy something.

“Before the incident, I had a boutique that I run but due to some issues, I could not continue with it again; so I packed my goods home. When I entered the house on the day of the incident, I noticed that one box containing my goods and my children’s clothes were missing.

“This lady is someone I took in like my daughter because she told me that she lost her mother at a tender age; she looked innocent. I don’t lock the rooms when I go out.

“She went away with the stew I prepared, Rolex wristwatches, expensive sunshade that I sell and the one I used, female and male jeans, long towels, three male wristwatch and 10 female wristwatch, pendants- all worth N500,000.”

Odejide who noted that the suspect might have accomplices said she could not carry all the stolen items alone.

The matter had been reported at the Sagamu Road Police Division.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Chike Oti, who confirmed the incident, said the suspect would be apprehended.

He said:

“The matter was reported to us at Sagamu Road Police Division and we hope that with the clues available to us, we will soon apprehend her.

“However, the CP, Lagos State has advised employers of domestic helps to ensure that they are profiled to avoid an incident of this nature.”

Report has it that a little girl simply identified as Favour was yesterday, 30/10/2018 night, sexually assaulted by a dismissed soldier, named Okenna Emma who resides in Mpape Asokoro Extension, Abuja.

According to reports, Favour is 3 years old girl from Anambra State, who resides with her mother in an uncompleted building in the same area.

It was gathered that the dismissed soldier was caught in the act by one Ruth Ani as he has allegedly been threatening the girl's mother that if she contacts the police, he will kill her and her daughter..

It was gathered that this morning as the little girl kept bleeding, the mother was forced to confront the man again and he ended up beating her mercilessly.

The little girl and her mother are currently hiding with a good Samaritan due to the threats made by the dismissed soldier.

The Chairman of Credit Switch Technology , Chief Ope Badamosi , has allegedly been murdered by a cook , he just hired.

According to THISDAY Badamosi was murdered early on Wednesday, at his Onikoyi Lane, Parkview Estate .

A neighbour of the deceased , who didn’ t want to be named said , “ I heard a scream from the wife , so I ran outside to their flat and saw her screaming outside with people holding her as she said that her husband had been murdered. When we got inside , we saw the man in a pool of blood with the volume of music increased to the highest level .

“ Already we had called the attention of the estate police before going in and they arrived just on time . According to the wife , she said she left her husband very early this morning to do some transactions in the bank . On her way back , she called her husband and couldn't hear what he was saying as his words were barely cohesive , and was just muttering words before the call dropped.

“ She attempted to call him back but he wasn ’ t picking up his phone . On getting home , the security was still asleep and couldn ’ t even respond to her car horns till she got down from her car , to bang on the security ’ s window ; that was when the security eventually woke up to open the gate for her . But unfortunately, on entering , she met her husband lying in a pool of his own blood and couldn’ t find the cook who just resumed work on Sunday anywhere.

“ That was when she screamed out for help and sent the security to help her run to see if he can still apprehend the cook . Perhaps because of fear, the security who was just employed on Sunday as well , also took to his heels upon the news that his new boss had been murdered. ”

A former security guard at the apartment, who pleaded not to be named , spoke with THISDAY.

He said he was sacked from his job after working for just a month with no reasons given to him and was paid off by the deceased on the eve of the incident .

He said his sack may not be unconnected with the security measures he took to ensure that proper records of visitors to the apartment were kept . He said prior to his employment , there were no records of visitors to the apartment.

“ I just returned from police questioning. I was the one guiding that house before.

That oga is a very nice man. When I resumed work, I realised that there wasn't a manifest where security can keep record of any visitor that comes around . So I developed that , ” he said , adding that he realised that immediately he started doing that, he began to have problem in the house , consequently leading to his sack.

He said it was on Sunday, “ I realised that they have employed new cook and security man when I went there to carry my fan. And yesterday ( Tuesday) evening , Oga (the deceased ) called me to come and collect my salary , which I went and I saw him . He was hale and hearty . ”

The Divisional Police Officer of Ikoyi Division , Ikoyi - Lagos , SP Mustapha Tijani , in a brief chat with THISDAY , said an official statement would be issued by the police as soon as they were done with the investigation , “but right now , efforts have been intensified towards tracking down the cook who is at large.

Before leaving the venue , the newly employed security man , came back to the crime scene , accompanied by his guarantor for the job . Both of them were later whisked away by some police officers.
