Security To Be Beefed Up Ahead Of 27th Lagos International Trade Fair In November

The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry has said it has evolved anti-bomb and anti-terrorism measures as part of the general security strategy for the 27th Lagos International Trade Fair slated for November at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.

To this end, the chamber said it would collaborate with the Nigerian Police, especially the anti-bomb and anti-terrorism squads, while guaranteeing exhibitors and visitors of adequate security during the trade fair.

Making this known, the Trade Promotion Board led by the Vice-President, LCCI, Mr. Babatunde Ruwase, said the chamber had also engaged a private security consultant to coordinate all security activities during the trade fair.

"Adequate security is being guaranteed with collaborations with the Nigerian Police and its various arms, i.e. the bomb disposal squad and the anti-terrorism squad. This is in addition to the engagement of a private security consultant to oversee and coordinate all security activities and the deployment of 24-hour Close Circuit Television coverage of the entire fair ground," Ruwase said.

Ruwase, who also doubles as the Chairman of the Publicity Committee of LCCI, said the chamber was also partnering with various public sector organisations in key service and amenity areas to improve exhibitors and visitors' experience.
