Helen Ukpabio Deported From UK

The British Homeland Security has deported Mrs. Helen Ukpabio, the President and Founder of one of Nigeria's largest Pentecostal churches believed to be leading the spread of witch-hunting in the country. A United Kingdom based human right activist and charity worker, Ms. Modupe Debbie Ariyo announced this in a one paragraph sentence via her Facebook page on Friday, April 18, 2015. "Helen Ukpabio deported from UK...hurray!!!" Ariyo said.

Ariyo, who's the Executive Director of Africa Unite Against Child Abuse (AFRUCA) in furtherance of her terse release sent as a confirmatory note of the deportation, said that the British Home Secretary, Ms Theresa May was pressured by human right activists and the UK press to act. "Theresa May was under pressure from charities to act...the evidence was overwhelming too" she stated.

Ms Ariyo called on her Nigerian counterparts and the press to borrow a leaf from their action which led to the deportation of Ms Ukpabio.

"Now, it is up to our Nigerian colleagues to learn from our example. These people can be challenged. They are ordinary human beings like you and I." Ariyo maintained.

Ukpabio, who arrived London last week for a chain of three weeks deliverance service but barely held two of her services when the press and human right activist got wind of her presence and mission to the United Kingdom and invaded her deliverance service with placards. This was followed by protests and petition to the British Home Secretary.

In one of her books, 'Unveiling The Mysteries of Witchcraft' Apostle Helen Ukpabio states, 'If a child under the age of two screams in the night, cries and is always feverish with deteriorating health he or she is a servant of Satan." Human right activists have been very critical of this view and argued that Ms Ukpabio who is a trained nurse should know that, Nigeria, like other African countries is known for mosquitoes spread and poor health condition; as her view has compelled poor and ignorant parents to abandon such children or even kill them.

Ms Ukpabio who had equally churned out lots of music and films espousing which hunting of children, aged and weak people also owns a film industry. On July 3, 2009 Ms Ukpabio hired gun men to attack the Child's Right and Rehabilitation Network (CRARN) in Akwa Ibom State, the only children centre in Nigeria that takes care of witch branded children, apparently with the mission to hurt its Director, Mr. Sam Itauma. But when they could not get hold of Itauma who escaped through the roof of his house, they turned their anger on the protesting children of the centre, and beat them up.

Two of the children, eight and eleven years in age, where hit with gun's butt to a state of coma and were rushed to the government hospital.

Shocked by the news of the attack on the children, the Akwa Ibom State governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio paid unscheduled visit to the CRARN Centre in Eket to console with the children.

Ukpabio did not rest; she dragged CRARN to a federal high court in Uyo seeking $1.5 million from the organization. She also filed two other cases requesting the court to close down the witch stigmatized children centre.

Ms Ukpabio is also known to have reined terror on any dissenting voices of her views. In one of her madness, she reportedly unleashed terror on the Brotherhood of The Cross and Star, in Calabar, a church she broke away from and founded the Liberty Gospel Foundation. During the onslaught, more than two hundred her armed thugs attacked the Brotherhood church with loss of lives and property worth billions of Naira.
