Vice President Namadi Sambo Loses Younger Brother In Car Crash Today

These are sad times for Vice President, Namadi Sambo as his brother, captain Sabo Sambo has passed away.

Confirming the news, former FCT Minister, Nasir el Rufai wrote on his Facebook wall.

"On behalf of the El-Rufai family, I join other Nigerians to commiserate with VP, Namadi Sambo, Mrs. Jummai Sambo and their family on the sudden death of Captain Sabo Sambo today.

"May his gentle, generous and humble soul rest in peace in Aljannah Firdaus.

"May the Almighty God give the family, friends and associates the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.

At the time of filing this report, the family was yet to issue any statement on the incident.





Captain Sabo was reportedly on his way to the airport to catch a flight when he crashed into a tree and his car burst into flames.


The accident occurred around Bill Clinton Drive, Airport Road, Abuja.


Until his death, Captain Sabo was a pilot who worked with the defunct Nigerian Airways and the Presidential Air Fleet, before retiring to be on his own.


He was 58 years old and he is survived by his wife, three daughters, ten brothers and sisters.


He has since been buried at the Apo Cemetery according to Islamic rites.
