There was bomb scare Thursday morning on Tom Jones, near the ever busy Idumota market, Lagos Island, Lagos State, western Nigeria when three bags containing objects suspected to be bombs were discovered by traders.
An eye witness informed our correspondent that when the traders saw the three bags, they immediately informed the Divisional Police Officer, DPO in charge of Ebute-Ero Division, SP Barrister John Otahumele who responded immediately and took the bags away.
The eye witness added that if not for the prompt response of Policemen from Ebute-Ero Division that commercial activities would have been paralysed because they thought the three bags contained bombs.
Although the objects were yet to be confirmed as bombs at the time of writing this report, a police source said the objects in the bags have been taken to the bomb disposal unit in Ikeja for further analysis.
