Jennifer Lopez is primed for a U-turn and will now perform at the World Cup opening ceremony, according to reports.
The global music superstar pulled out of the event at the weekend, but the backlash has been so intense, the 44-year-old singer has now decided to step up and do the gig, a Tuesday
report from RadarOnline claims.
Lopez is thought to have needed a break after her split from 27- year-old choreographer Casper Smart, which was announced Friday.
But the site maintains that is not why she cancelled her appearance: instead, she was haggling over money with the World Cup organisers and wanted her entire entourage flown in style to Brazil.
'The backlash was so significant that she decided that she needed to attend,' a source inside the World Cup organizing committee told Radar.
Jennifer's representative did not return calls to MailOnline. The big issue was over travel expenses.
'She had wanted them to cover everything for her, from private transportation, to her hotel and the costs associated for her entire entourage,' said the source.
The singer dropped out when the committee didn't cough up the money. But because she has an album to promote - A.K.A. is out next week - her record label told her to make it happen.
Lopez is expected to sing the official song for World Cup, which she made with Pitbull.
'It's the world stage. It would have been foolish for her not to exploit the World Cup for the publicity factor alone,' added the insider.
