Pandemonium on Sunday night, broke out in Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti, as students of the institution went on rampage destroying property worth millions of naira.
During the violent protest, whose cause is yet to be ascertained as at press time, the students broke into the two Cafeterias located at the Owolabi Hall, the Talents Discovery Building, and College of Engineering, causing damages.
The violent protest in the six-year-old university, which forced students and staff to scamper for safety, was said to have started at about 9.45 pm and lasted till 12.20 am.
This is even as anti-riot policemen were deployed by the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Etop James to quell the situation.
As at the time Journalists visited the campus, on Monday, police truck and several Hilux vans loaded with anti-riot policemen and men of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), were stationed on campus.
