JimCaddy's Corner: My Verdict On Those Taking Shots At @Tokstarr (Toke Makinwa)

I just feel the need to address this issue and buttress Toni Payne's point as to the real reasons why people take shots at popular Rhythm 93.7 FM On Air Personality, Omotoke Makinwa.

I don't know where to actually start from, but I will start from somewhere.

I don't know why some people, will, just for the love of HATE, take shots at people for doing something right.

A wise saying goes thus; familiarity breeds contempt.

As a celebrity, you are familiar with a lot of people, hence the need to attract 'haters'.

If at all one wants to hate on anybody, not Toke Makinwa.

I have been an ardent listener of Rhythm 93.7 and Cool FM. I have been a frequent listener for over a decade now. I can count how many On Air Personalities have come and gone in the last decade or so.

I can boldly say, I knew when Toke joined Rhythm FM. But that's besides the point.

Ever since I started listening to Toke on the Morning Drive, it was like a whole new experience for me. Toke actually weaned me off other radio stations to Rhythm FM.

The way she handles the program makes me to wonder if she had a fore knowledge of radio anchoring.

Getting to know Toke had an entirely different profession other than radio anchoring made me to appreciate creativity at its best.

She is someone who knows what to do, coupled with intelligence and professionalism.

For such an individual, success becomes a must.

I do not personally know Toke Makinwa, but my perception of her is that she is an extrovert.

She is very jovial and kind hearted. Just a listen to the Morning Drive show will confirm all I'm saying.

I find it amusing and incomprehensible that some people will take shots at her and try to bring her down.

Ask yourself, why does Toke Makinwa attend so many events?

The answer is not far fetched. Toke is simply endearing to a lot people.

Besides, there is no crime in freedom of association.

I can also bet that almost all the events that Toke goes for, she gets invited. So what's the fuss?

I feel Toke has a personal manager of some sort, who plans her itinerary because I can imagine how busy her weekly/monthly itinerary will be.

But what strikes me about Toke is the way she handles her job professionally.

I have never ever heard Toke late on the Morning Drive. It has never happened. She is always on time and as early as 5.30am, she is at work.

Despite all the criticisms, Toke has never joined issues with anybody on the radio. She has the power behind the microphone, but she uses it with so much professionalism.

Even when the self acclaimed 'Fashion Police', Emmy Collins threw shots at Toke, I expected Toke to react the following day, but she broke my heart, and didn't.

Emmy Collins went very personal on Toke, I must admit. But as usual, she took it on the chin.

Also, so many things has been said in the media about Toke and her personal love life, but she has never for once addressed that issue.

The way she plays around with her fellow radio colleague, and co-anchor, Nanya Diali makes a lot of people to wonder which man is really in Toke Makinwa's life.

Toke leaves a lot of people guessing, hence the negative reports about her in the media.

But I trust Toke to handle them as she has always.

She is such an inspiration to young people. The way she gets so passionate about the plight of young people is very exemplary and highly commendable.

Her usual Wednesday Vlogs is a testament to how she educates young people to learn from probably her own experiences or those of others.

She is a huge asset to Rhythm 93.7 FM and a huge asset to her profession. She's got a huge fan base and she is a delight of so many Nigerians.

No need to hate on Toke Makinwa. Just appreciate her unique qualities and try to learn a thing or two from her.

I can only wish Toke Makinwa the best in her future endeavours.

Happy Sunday to y'all!!!
