Two candidates who sat for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), yesterday, lost their lives in a multiple road crash along Owo-Ikare road in Ondo State.
It was learnt that the auto crash involved a tipper, a Nissan car and a Peugeot J5 vehicle.
Eyewitnesses said two out of the vehicles were coming from Offa in Kwara State when the crash occurred.
It was learnt that the tipper overtook the Peugeot J5 vehicle while trying to negotiate a bend before ramming into the Nissan car conveying the candidates.
The Head of Operations of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ikare Akoko, Mr. Samuel Ibitoye, confirmed the death of the candidates.
Ibitoye said three other sustained various degrees of injuries and were on admission at Ikare Specialist Hospital.
He added that the corpses of the two candidates were deposited at the hospital mortuary.
Ibitoye pointed out that the deceased candidates could not be identified.
