The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 5 internet fraudsters in Enugu State.
According to the EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwajaren, the five-man gang whose names were given as: Uche Nwakor, 27; Ejikeme Oluchukwu, 30; Ifeanyi Ejikeme, 28; Nnamani Ikechukwu, 30; and Ibe Kodili.
They were said to have defrauded several victims. Some of the items recovered from them include a cash sum of Eight Thousand, Two Hundred and Twenty Seven United States Dollars ($8,227); Seventy Three Thousand Naira (N73,000); eight cars; nine laptops; twenty one mobile phones; two internet modems; one currency counter; and one Sony camera.
Other items found on the suspects include four drivers' license bearing different names with the same photograph, five flash drives, two external hard drives, bank cheques, ATM and Master cards, one HP printer, a black travelling bag with 12 different identity cards, a company metal seal, two international passports belonging to the same person.
Mr Uwajaren said that all the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations conclude.
