M-Net To Screen Blockbuster Movies In Nigeria

Movie lovers in Nigeria are to have a first-hand glimpse at newly released Hollywood blockbuster movies before they are released to the Nigerian cinemas.

Tagged M-Net Movies Silver Screening, the exercise is initiated by M-Net Movies, in partnership with Filmhouse Cinemas and Silverbird Cinemas. It started from Thursday August 29, when movie goers received tickets to watch a new comedy, We're the Millers at the Filmhouse Cinemas, Surulere.

We're the Millers stars Jennifer Aniston as Rose, a night club stripper, who, along with Jason Sudeikis, Emma Roberts and Will Poulter, create the picture of a perfect family to help Sudeikis ferry marijuana across the Mexican border into America.  Realising that going through the security network as a single man would raise suspicions, David Clark (Sudeikis), a low level drug dealer, decides to constitute a bogus family of four — a wife, daughter and son.

Emma Roberts—Eric Roberts' daughter and Julia Roberts' niece — gives the interpretation of her role as Casey, a runaway teenage girl hired by Clark to pose as his daughter. David Clark has also hired Rose (Aniston) to pose as his wife and Kenny (Poultier) his 18-year old virgin nieghbour, as his son.

Unfortunately for him, however, the drug Lord, Chacon, who is the original owner of the cannabis, is hot on his trail while the weight of the drug causes the car to develop a mechanical fault, delaying their flight.

Silver screening is open to DStv subscribers on all bouquets, according to Pierre Cloete, Director of M-net and M-net Movies Channels. Cloete says, "We trust that these events will become monthly calendar highlights for fans of the movies. On the day of the screening, winners will only need to come with the email as evidence and the partner cinema house will provide complimentary popcorn and a drink.  M-Net Movies Silver Screenings will be held at least once a month depending on the number of big titles released in a particular month."
