N130m Fraud: Accused Ex-Lagos State Deputy Governor Sinatu Ojikutu Still At Large

A Federal High Court, Lagos, has adjourned indefinitely the arraignment of former Lagos State Deputy Governor, Alhaja Sinatu Ojikutu, and her son, Sampson, for alleged N130m fraud.

Justice Mohammed Yunusa on Friday adjourned the matter indefinitely after the police told the court that they had not been able to arrest the accused persons.

The accused were charged with three counts of conspiracy, fraud and stealing.

On Friday, the prosecutor, Mr Bukola Durojaiye, informed the court that the accused were absent due to the inability of the police to arrest them.

Durojaiye, however, assured the court that the Special Fraud Unit of the police in Lagos was not relenting in its efforts to produce them before the court.

He urged the court to adjourn the case sine die (indefinitely) for the police to have time to arrest the accused.

Yinusa said, "The application of prosecution is hereby granted, and the case is hereby adjourned sine die, to enable the prosecution to make necessary arrangement for the arraignment of the accused."

The accused were alleged to have committed the offence in September 2011.
