They allegedly assaulted many hospital staffs on sight within the premises of the hospital, including Doctors, nurses and others.
An eye witness told DailyPost that many workers sustained serious injuries during the attack.
According to him, those unlucky staff caught by the soldiers were roughly handled and are currently receiving treatment at various hospitals.
The Chief Medical Director(CMD) and other Senior Staff of the hospital reportedly went into hiding for fear of being attacked .
According to the source, the soldiers allegedly embarked on the action in protest of the alleged rejection of the corpse of one of their colleagues who lost his life at a peace keeping mission in one of the Northern states by the management of the hospital.
The source explained that the soldiers brought the corpse on Tuesday evening with the intention of depositing it in the hospital's morgue but were disappointment when the hospital rejected the corpse.
The hospital management said the mortuary was already congested and there was no more space to keep the corpse.
One of the injured medical workers said "All efforts made by the soldiers to deposit the corpse were unsuccessful, so they went back with the corpse .
"On Wednesday morning, the next thing we saw was a handful of soldiers who came, fully armed as if they were going to war. They started beating anybody they met on the way, they disrupted the business activities of the day at the hospital, the doctors, nurses, and other medical staff were seriously beaten "
The State Police Spokesman, Wole Ogodo, said he was not aware of the incident.
The Army Public Relations(APR) unit of the 32 Brigade Command, Owena Barracks, Akure, could not be reached for comments.
A high ranking officer in the command, however denied the allegation saying, "the Nigerian Army of nowadays are more disciplined and civil to commit such crude acts.
He said it might be society miscreants who used army uniforms to perpetrate evils.
