Two former employees of Lacasera Company Nigeria Limited, Clinton Chinedu, 28, and Friday Bulus, 22, have been arraigned before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrate's Court for allegedly stealing 4,400 cartons of the drink.
The stolen drinks were estimated to cost N4.4m.
The two suspects were accused of diverting a fully-loaded truck of the Lacasera drinks from Aba where it was meant to be delivered to Onitsha.
The police alleged that the truck was loaded at Apapa-Oshodi Expressway in the Mile 2 area of Lagos.
While Chinedu allegedly drove the truck, Bulus was said to have served as his conductor.
Both suspects were reportedly arrested in Port Harcourt following a report of the theft to the police.
They were arraigned on Tuesday on two counts of stealing.
The charges read in part, "That you, Clinton Chinedu, and Friday Bulus, on September 8, 2013 at about 9.30am at No 36, Apap- Oshodi Expressway, Mile 2, Lagos in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire with others now at large with intent to commit felony to wit stealing."
The prosecutor, ASP Ettim Ekankuk, said the offences were contrary to Sections 409 and 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria 2011.
