Emzor Pharmaceuticals is currently in hot water after one of its Sales Reps was caught selling bottles of Codeine illegally to undercover reporters.

The reporters who posed as drug dealers received the shock of their lives when the rep sold 60 bottles of the drug to them adding that anything he sold to them was fresh from the 'oven'.

The bust was part of a documentary carried out by BBC reporters on the codeine epidemic in Nigeria. The documentary revealed that in two Nigerian states alone, over 3 million bottles were consumed every day.

In an interview she granted Sunday Punch, controversial housemate and 1st runner-up at the just-concluded Big Brother Naija reality TV show, Cee-C revealed some intimate details about herself and all that happened in the house, among other interesting issues.

When did you decide to participate in Big Brother Naija?

A few weeks after I saw the advert on Instagram, I decided to attend the audition and I was successful.

Did you share your plans to participate in the reality show with your family?

No, I did not tell anybody.

How did they react when they found out you were going to be a housemate?

They know I have always wanted to be on TV, so they were not surprised about my decision. The fact that I made it into the house despite the large number of people that auditioned also impressed them.

What are some of the most important lessons you took away from the Big Brother House?

I learnt to live and let live. Also, adversities are opportunities for you to shine, so make the best of it.

If you were to go back into the house, what would you do differently?

I think I would be an older version of myself; this means I would be more mature.

Was your attitude part of your strategy to win the game?

I am always myself. Everything you saw in the house was real.

What do you regret doing while in the house?

I don’t have any regrets.

What’s the next stage for you?

This is a new environment, so I am trying to get used to it. I’m looking at the opportunities I have to know the ones to go for and make money. I hope to act and I’m also a music artiste.

Were you in a relationship before the competition?

No, I wasn’t and I never thought of finding love while in the house. I was there to play a game and I planned to do whatever it took to win.

If you could date one person in the house, who would it be?

Nobody. I wasn’t attracted to anybody in the house. As regards the kind of man I like, the God factor is very important. It also has to be someone who understands and loves me deeply.

A Nigerian man has been arrested in Thailand for deceiving women into transferring him money as a part of a romance scam.

The suspect identified as Light Chinezurum Mmaramigro was arrested on Friday morning, April 27, at his apartment in Bangkok after he posed as an online suitor, engaging in romantic relationships with Thai women before asking them to transfer him money.


According to the deputy commissioner of tourist police, Maj. Gen. Surachet Hakpal, Mmaramigro created a fake Facebook profile under the name Stanley George, with several pictures of a Caucasian man.

After chatting with Thai women for some time, he would trick them into transferring him money before deleting his Facebook account. Mmaramigro had made more than 130,000 baht this way.

Police seized a computer, mobile phone, ATM cards and bank books found in his room. They said Mmaramigo has previously entered the country 13 times.

The deputy commissioner has encouraged the victims to come front and report to police.

“Come forward. Don’t be shy. Cooperate with police,” Surachet said during a Friday press conference.

“This is a transnational crime. This is a cybercrime. The foreigners cannot do us harm if we see through their tricks"

A deadly and notorious cultist, Gbenga Ogunsanya, a. k. a. Spartacus, has been arrested by police operatives in Ogun state. Spartacus, a dreaded name in Ogun state, and goes by the title of 'butcher' in the Aye Confraternity, was arrested on April 12, 2018 in the Sabo area of the gateway state.

The 23-year old, who had been on the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) trail since January, made some stunning revelations to Crimepuzzle during an interview yesterday, Saturday, April 28.

According to him, no fewer than nine persons had falling victims of his no-mercy disposition, adding that whoever he marked to kill was never spared of his battle axe.

Among his numerous victims was one Lekan, a. k. a. Gobe, whom he killed at Lafenwa in Abeokuta in November, 2017.

Spartacus, who lives like a king among his group, told Crime Puzzle correspondent how he came about the the name he inscribed on his neck, saying: "Spartacus is the title of a horror film I have watched over and over, and was inspired by the major actor in the film, to the effect that anyone he felt like axing, nothing changed his decision.

He revealed that he always made surprise appearances with his members at carnivals, especially where musicians were on ground to entertain people. All they focused on, according to him, was to cause chaos; machete people and smash vehicle wind screens.

He mentioned the areas he operated to include Oke-Sokori (Ori-Omi), Isale-Ijeun, Kobiti, Adedotun, Enu-gada, Lafenwa and Sabo among others.

The last straw that broke the camel's back was the last cross-over night at Ori-Omi, where the state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, service Chiefs and who is who in the state were in attendance.

He said, "Immediately the governor and the big wigs departed the scene, we began our operations, machetting people".

Crimepuzzle gathered that on the strength of that wicked act, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, gave a matching order to the Officer-In-Charge of FSARS, DSP Uba Adams, to begin a manhunt for him and ensure he was arrested with his cohorts.

Consequently, virtually all the teams in the FSARS kits were mandated by Uba to go after him, the result of which was his arrest, alongside one Quam Olubodun, 20, at Sabo area of Lafenwa on April 12, 2018.

However, in a state of sobriety, Spartacus regretted every of his actions, saying "It has dawned on me that there is nothing to gain from being cultists, positing that if he had not been arrested he would have continued to live in the illusion that everything starts and ends in cultism.

A Nollywood actress who goes by the name Charity Nnaji has alleged that mot female housemates of the Big Brother Naija reality TV show make more money when they sleep with politicians.

After the Sunday finale of the 2018 Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) in South Africa, various social media platforms have been filled with news of the finalists on the reality TV show and nothing seems to be of greater importance than matters concerning the last 5 housemates of Miracle, Cee C, Tobi, Alex and Nina.

It has been a life of fairytale for the housemates as their pictures adorn Instagram and other social media platforms.

However, Abuja-based Charity Nnaji is not so impressed, because she believes the girls among them should seize the opportunity of the moment to make more money by sleeping with politicians like their predecessors are doing instead of glamourizing the social media for nothing.

“Welcome back to Nigeria,” she began in a chat with Potpourri

“ Please tell the housemates of Big Brother Naija, especially the girls to utilise this opportunity and platform to make more money by sleeping with politicians instead of taking selfies and uploading on Instagram,” she advised.

The actress who didnt seem to care about the gravity of her statement went further to say that she has her proof of how former housemates have made so much money sleeping with politicians across Nigeria.

She claimed she witnessed a particular incident where a former housemate on the show was on the phone with a politician and she charged him a million Naira per night to have fun with him.

Charity Nnaji said:
“They can confirm from the first set that left the house. Some charge one million a night. One such incident happened right in my presence. One former housemate was telling a Senator on phone that if he could not pay one million naira for a night, he should forget about it”.

A Ghanaian woman has cried out on her current predicament, which is bringing her serious emotional pains anytime she thinks about it. According to her, she doesn’t understand why every man that sleeps with her dies and she is in dire need of sex.

The woman who shared her problem with controversial expert, David Papa Bondze-Mbir, even threatened that she will begin to tour Ghana and have sex with men who seem  attractive to her.

“I will be 38 years in July, 2017. And, I have been married, Three (3) times. I have Two (2) kids, with two different late husbands, whom I dearly loved.
“This is my story: when I was 18 years, I dated this gentleman, who was then, a Third-year, University Student, at Legon. I was in my final year at Senior Secondary School (SSS). He was my first love, and we had dated for just Five (5) months. We had so many dreams together – for our future.He mysteriously died.
“I dated a married man, at age, 20, for just, Four (4) weeks. The first time we had sex at a hotel, he died in his home, the very next day.
“I didn’t date for a while, due to fear – until a friend at Church, proposed to me, four years later. I was 25 years old, when I first got married. Two (2) years into our marriage, he died one dawn, after making love to me. We had no kids.
“I moved to Canada, to further my education. I met this Nigerian Army guy, who showed interest in me. He married me, when I was 30 years old. He died when I was, Seven (7) months pregnant, with our first child.
“When I was 34, my third husband, a White Canadian Man, also married me. We had an argument one day, when I was Three months pregnant with our daughter. He was getting involved with his Ex wife, and apparently, they had had sex. He confessed to me, about sleeping with his Ex, and was asking for my forgiveness.
 “Dave, I loved my husband very much, so I willingly forgave him that afternoon, and made passionate love to him, that very moment. He died in his sleep that afternoon.
“Since relocating to Ghana, two years ago, I decided never to date or marry again, however, I was getting Hot a few times, so I hooked up with a colleague at work, for just a one night ‘something’. He died in the house of his girlfriend, a day after sleeping with me.
“As I write this letter to you, I am in Takoradi. I had to move from Accra, to a different City. I couldn’t stand the horror of my life. A Nigerian woman and member of a yet to be identified Facebook group shared her dilemma with other members after she caught her husband sexually assaulting her 11 year old sister.

The group which is undoubtedly full of some women who are illiterates advised the woman to 'save her marriage' rather than confront the man WHILE a woman asked her to beat her sister as she doesn't feel her husband forced her to bed and she may be the one that initiated it when she's Horny.

The girl is 11, a minor, the man should be arrested and jailed.

The Lagos State Police Command is investigating a case of child abuse reported by Chosen Child Orphanage Home, located at Gastya Estate, Ijora-Badia on behalf of Aishat Sheriff, a 16-year-old girl child whose upper and lower right limbs were allegedly burnt by her biological mother, one Ayo Sheriff, 30 years old, by means of electric pressing iron over minor misunderstanding.

What led to the abuse was that the victim, who is a student of a secondary school and also a part time student nurse in auxiliary capacity, was given the sum of five hundred Naira by her boss with an instruction to hand two hundred Naira to someone on her way home, use fifty Naira as transport fare and return the balance of two hundred and fifty to her boss the next day.

However, on the day she was supposed to return the balance of the money to her boss, the victim defaulted. She told her boss that the money was with her mother. The boss called her mother on the phone and she denied knowledge of the money.

When the victim returned home from work, her mother who was already waiting for her, plugged an electric iron and waited until it was red hot. At this stage, she used the red hot iron to welcome her daughter home, accusing her of being a disgrace to the family.

PoliticsNGR learnt that The CP Lagos was miffed at the sight of of the horrible wounds inflicted on a child by her mother. He therefore called on parents to correct their children in love. He said the rate at which cases of domestic violence is increasing is now a source of concern to the Command.

The Gender Section of the Command, headed by SP(Mrs) Adejoke Cole, had concluded investigation into the case and would charge the suspect to Ikeja Magistrate Court tomorrow 30th April, 2018.

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Saturday leave Abuja on an official working visit to the United States of America, on the invitation of President Donald Trump.

According to a statement on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, the President will hold a bilateral meeting with Trump and a working lunch on Monday.

According to the statement, the meeting between the two leaders would discuss ways to enhance the strategic partnership between the two countries and to advance shared priorities, such as: promoting economic growth, fighting terrorism and other threats to peace and security.

“The meeting will further deepen the US-Nigeria relationship as the United States considers Nigeria’s economic growth, security and leadership in Africa to be critical aspects of their strategic partnership,” the statement read.

Adesina added that Buhari would later in the day meet with a group of business persons in agriculture and agro-processing, dairy and animal husbandry.

He said ahead of the visit, meetings have been scheduled on April 26 and 27 27 between senior Nigerian government officials and executives of major US companies in the areas of agriculture, aviation and transportation.

The statement added, “In the area of aviation, the Nigerian officials will be meeting with Boeing, the largest aircraft manufacturer in the world, on the National Carrier Project.

“On agriculture, they will meet with large equipment manufacturers with focus on harvesting and post harvesting equipment.

“In the area of transportation, the officials will meet with the GE-led consortium for the implementation of the interim phase of the narrow gauge rail concession.

“In the interim phase, a substantive concession agreement will be negotiated and finalized to provide the consortium the opportunity to invest an estimated $2bn, to modernize the rail line from Lagos to Kano (Western Line) and from Port Harcourt to Maiduguri (Eastern Line). During the meeting, the concession framework and the interim phase framework agreements are expected to be signed.

“The Nigerian officials will also meet with US-EXIM Bank and the US Overseas Private Investment Corporation to explore competitive financing arrangements.”

Adesina added that that in 2017, Nigeria’s Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment and the United States Department of Commerce signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote and encourage commercial and investment ties between Nigeria and the US, with initial focus on infrastructure, agriculture, digital economy, investment and regulatory reforms.

The operatives of Rapid Response Squad have arrested four suspects in Ondo, Edo and Osun States for retailing leaked WASSCE May/June, 2018 Examination question papers on websites and whatsapps platforms.

The suspects namely; Samuel Kayode, 28-year-old from Ondo State, Adebayo Ifeoluwa, 17-year-old from Osun State, Alayande Ahmed and Elusode Festus, 20 years from Edo State were all arrested in their respective states. Samuel Kayode, a part time teacher in two secondary schools based in Ilesa, disclosed that he also taught Physics and Mathematics in a private tutorial class where he assisted candidates who are planning to write the WASSCE examination with questions and already prepared answers for the candidates.

According to Samuel, after working as a tutorial teacher for seven years, he got a part-time employment in two private schools in Ilesa, Osun State, where he also helped students preparing for WASSCE with leaked questions and prepared answers, adding that he did this to make a living.

“I got a part-time teaching job when I couldn’t secure a Government teaching job after graduating for NCE and couldn’t settle for the little salary I’m been paid by my employers, so I decided to help myself with what I have been doing as a tutorial teacher by helping lazy students source for WASSCE examination question and answer via some online platforms that deal in the illegal business.

After registering candidates in their various centers, I then liaise with some anonymous people who we call ‘Web Masters’. The Web Masters have insiders in various examination boards in the country with leaked questions paper and buy such from them”, he explained.

“There are many websites operated by the Web Masters, where leaked WASSCE questions and prepared answers are sold to subscribing candidates. Some of these websites include; www.examloaded.com, www.guruscamp.com, www. ceebook.net, www. Solutionclass.com and www.expotab.com.

They also hawk NECO, GCE and JAMB examinations papers with answers”, he stated.

He explained further, “the contact person on Web master is called ‘Dan’ who doesn’t pick calls but only deal on text messages and WhatsApp messages. Mr. Dan usually sell answers via WhatsApp or issues a quick login password that can be issued on the website and immediately redirect the user to the page where the already prepared answers are.

I then retail the answers have bought from Mr. Dan to candidate customers who I coordinate carefully on a WhatsApp platform named ‘WAEC VIP’ where candidates waits patiently to receive the answers to the question after sending to me a #400 recharge cards of any network.

I demand for N400 recharge card from candidate for general subject while I charge N800 for Mathematics and English language”

In his own confession, Adebayo Ifeoluwa, 17 years and 200 level Accounting student of the Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA said he sold leaked WASSCE examination questions and answers to a group on WhatsApp called ‘MCC’ where candidates payed a recharge card of N400 to get examination questions and answers.

“Sometime this year, just before the on-going WASSCE examination, I belong to a sports betting WhatsApp group where we forecast for games. One of the member therein sent a broadcast about how to get WASSCE questions and left a WhatsApp link which I joined before thinking of creating my own ‘MCC’ after a thoughtful assumption of how profitable the venture looks”.

Also, Elusode Festus from Ekpoma in Edo State failed school certificate examination before becoming an apprentice at a Welding and metal fabrication shop, also chose the retailing of leaked WASSCE question and answer as a side hustle.

The 22 year Elusode said he got to know about the deal on a website where he downloaded songs before a pop asking if you want to receive exam result, click here which he did and dully registered so as to start the retailing of the answers among candidates in the area.

On his own part, Alayande Ahmad, said “I got to know about WASSCE questions and answers racketeering on a website after dropping out of secondary at SS2 due to lack of funds but I promised to assist my friends who were preparing to sit for WASSCE at all cost.

I contacted an admin on a WhatsApp group where answers were being sold to candidates who registered with him after sending to him a N400 recharge card. The subscribers receive questions and answers few hours before their examination”.

Parading the suspect, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Imohimi Edgal advised parents to monitor their wards preparation for examination instead of indulging them in examination malpractices.

The suspects have been transferred to the State CID for further investigations.

Actress Ibinabo Fiberesima took to her Instagram page to share her side of the story and also plead for forgiveness in the accident which she was involved in that claimed the life of a medical doctor 12 years ago.

In the very lengthy post, Ibinabo said she is not a killer and didn't drive under the influence of alcohol on the unfortunate day of the accident.

Ms Ibinabo also revealed she was depressed and had suicidal thoughts but is currently receiving treatments.

This post was prompted by the backlash she got after she revealed she is interested in running for political office. Read what she wrote below

My dearest friends and followers, I greet you this blessed Friday. Most of you may have heard about my sad story of accident that caused the life of a beautiful and amazing human, Dr. Suraj Giwa. For 12 years, I have remained silent; internally mourning, grieving and praying that time would heal his family and mine. Through those years of my silence, stories were manufactured in the mainstream and social media about the accident. There were so many stories. My character was assassinated. I did not tell my story. Nobody heard from me, until now. Please take few moments to read the next posts as I share my story of what really happened and seek forgiveness, peace for both families. I finally got the courage to tell my story to Azuka Jebose. It was a burden lifted off my soul. As you read, please continue to pray for the soul of Late Giwa, his family and my family. MY STORY

DEAR NIGERIA, I AM SORRY.” “ Dear Azuka,
I greet you. Thank you for allowing me to respond to your recent post here about my political ambition and the fatal accident of 2006. I need to tell my story. I stayed silent for so long and watched as my life, character and person were being ruined in published reports, including social media. This is my story, told for the first time on social media platform.

My heart has never stopped aching. It will not. An accident took the life of someone. I am forever in mourning because of this. Two families’ lives have been changed forever with this unfortunate fatal accident. It was an accident. Dr. Suraj Giwa didn’t have to die. I wished I could bring him back. I am sorry for the pains caused. I have also been maligned and disparaged in the media: I am a monster. I am a killer and a murderer, I am a drunk... No. Azuka. I am none of these.
I am just another human being that was in a deadly accident and the accident caused the death of Dr. Suraj Giwa.



It’s been 12 years of heartache, pain and depression for me. My eyes are rivers of tears.
Some days I feel like killing myself. Life has no meaning to me.
I think about Dr. Giwa every day. I pray for his soul and I pray and seek forgiveness from his family for the pain and agony. I am very sorry.
It didn’t have to happen. I wished I knew it would happen that unfortunate day, I would not have travelled that road. I was not drunk that day.

Azuka, I was driving along Lekki road, returning home after picking up a friend’s daughter from a church Fellowship. Suddenly, a red car overtook the SUV in front of me. The SUV was travelling slowly, so I shifted to its front, too. The red vehicle was being driven by a young man and had his friends with him…I drove past the red car. I think that might have angered the young chap because he swiftly sped from behind, drove past me and made a sudden stop in my front.

I tried to avoid hitting those boys in the red car. I swerved and lost control in that moment, the impact dived my vehicle into inbound lane.. Dr. Giwa was inbound, thus he drove into my car and both cars collided. I collapsed and passed out.. Three days later, I WOKE UP IN A HOSPITAL bed to learn what had happened. I was weak, sore and in pains. I could not move my legs. I had been sedated for three days. Doctors said they had to sedate me to numb my pain. Meanwhile, the police had been informed that I was in that hospital. The Lagos State Police came to the hospital to take my statement of what happened. After I gave them my statement, I was arrested at the hospital and charged to court.

At my court appearance for hearing, the judge noticed how sick, weak, incoherent an disoriented I was: he also saw my injuries. He ordered that I should be sent back to the hospital for further treatment until I was well enough to stand trial. I could not walk then.

Later at the hospital, I woke up from coma and to reality. I was afraid and shocked. I could not believe I was involved in an accident that had taken a life. I was like: Wow!..Someone died in that accident. Oh my God!. I didn’t know the family. While I was in the hospital my family contacted the family of Late dr. Giwa who died in the accident. My family was there for the funeral and did everything during the mourning season. I was afraid. But I met them in court and tried to approach them. I understood the anger and pain I had caused them, so I accepted their anger toward me….his sister was really angry at me… I wanted to talk to her… it was hard for me to get close to her… I understood all these: the pain and distress they felt as a result of the accident. I felt their pain. I wanted to tell them how sorry and remorseful I was… It was an accident. I did not intend to wake up that morning, went out and had a fatal collision.

I know the pain is tough, so I understood their anger but I kept begging. I am sorry. I had gone to so many good people and friends to assist me in pleading for forgiveness from the family. One of such friends is late Iyalode of Lagos. She assisted me in begging the Giwa family: when I became well and able to walk, she took me to The former Imam of Lagos and the Present Oba of Lagos: these traditional and religious leaders begged on my behalf, pleading with the family for forgiveness and showed how sorry and remorseful I was that the accident happened. I never ran away from the scene of the accident.
I was unconscious.
How could an unconscious accident victim remove plate license and registration papers from the vehicle as reported in the media? Why would I do a thing like that? How could I have done a thing like that?

I became a monster in the eyes of everyone. So I thought suicide was the best option to end all these and find peace for my family and Dr. Giwa’s family. I lost myself.
I was no longer Ibinabo.
I didn’t know who I was.
I became a stranger to myself and my family, afraid of life and living, scarred by and scared of human beings.
I withdrew and became clinically depressed.

I could not take care of my children. I was dying.
Azuka, I was dying. Life had no meaning to me. I became a lonely zombie: a mother that could not care for her children, distressed, disturbed and severely depressed.

I was sent to Kirikiri female Prison. I wanted to die there. I accepted to end it.
But one preacher came to the prison and preached to us. It was like he was talking to me. During his sermon, I fainted… I was revived by prisoners that attended the service. When I woke up, I was soaked in water and the prisoners gathered around me… I asked what happened and they told me I had Passed out during the service.. That opened my eyes. I asked myself then: Ibinabo, do you really want to die?. I said no. I must turn my life to purpose driven, to rescue the weak and helped those that society had turned against.. I held onto God. I told Him it was up to Him. I didn’t want to see any lawyer again, I had no money. My family bailed me out after three months and three days…. I came out to pursue the appeal…
I was living my simple life…I engaged in works with youths in my village. I enjoy spending time in my town. They know me there. They love me there… I was on my way to a funeral when my lawyer called me.. Earlier the previous day, I called to inform him I would be out of town and hoped the appeal date would not be scheduled while I was out of town.
He said no. I told him I didn’t want the court to think I jumped bail… He called me on my way to the funeral, the next day and said the court date was actually that morning. I had to hurry back to court.
I lost the appeal. I was shocked.

My lawyer did not understand what was going on. That day, I was taken back to Kirikiri maximum security prison… that was 2016…

While at Kirikiri, I discovered I had a lump in my breast. I had to do surgery… when I was released, I went to the village so that I would not breakdown and collapse into depression again…
Yes I want to serve my people.. I want to be positive and impact people’s lives. And yes, Azuka, I remember that this sad situation is still here…
I do not know who else to talk to…

I do not know what else to do. I need help…
The family sued me for N200Million in a civil case…
Where will I get that money from?. So we have been negotiating to see where we can get to, so I can begin making payment by installment.

We have agreed to settle out of court… we are not there yet. It’s a process… Though I have appealed this case to the Supreme Court, what is important to me now is making peace with the family: that is more important because it will heal me… his family and I would have peace.

Azuka I am not a bad person. I do not know what else to do. People think I am a murderer. I am not. I am not. Azuka, free me….Free me… It was an unfortunate accident. I didn’t do it intentionally. That’s all I have been begging…
I have begged…I do not know what to do…I am truly sorry it happened…

I am not running for any political office. My people wanted me. A group of youths from my place asked me to run for office, I said no. They went and printed poster and placed it on social media. So I endorsed it.

Eventually, I must live. I have to do things to my fulfillment, to what God wants me to do; to be able to help youths help people generally… Life in Okrika is not easy… I need to help the youths believe in themselves… they are aching.. In my region, simple things of life are a struggle to get. I need to change their mindset that there is alternative way to Life… I have become a seeker of peace for my people… Life hasn’t been a bed of roses… But I must deal with this issue. I seek forgiveness from the family and peace of mind. I need to find closure and peace.… I am not a killer… I care too much… I am a caring person. I put myself in the shoes of Giwa’s family and I can understand their pains. I am very sorry for the loss of life of Dr. Giwa. I am. I am not arrogant.

I never, ever said to his family that I would not offer public apology.
I was offered to do a public service announcement across country with regards to Driving While Impaired. I said if I did that, it then meant I accepted I was drunk when I drove my car. I wasn’t drunk. I would do anything but that. I wasn’t drunk… they assumed because I owned a night club in the past, so I must be an alcoholic.

This is exactly the truth. It’s not fair to admit that I was drunk.
The police did not arrest me for drunk driving.. The court never charged me with drunk driving.. There were reckless and dangerous driving charges.
Those were what I was charged by the court…. I was not charged with manslaughter.
Not murder…

My pains through the years include: Bouts of depression Attempted suicide I Had surgeries in my breast to remove lumps. I cannot do a lot. This unfortunate experience has affected my job prospects. I am unemployable I have stopped acting for a while. I just do charity works.. I am not flamboyant.. Dear Nigeria, I am sorry. I will forever regret what happened.
Giwa was a father, husband and son. He was the sole and soul provider of his family. I feel terrible he died during an accident which I was involved. I feel really bad. I am sorry. I need prayers. Please pray for me and the soul of Giwa and his family.

I know I have found God through this experience. But I still need help. I am receiving therapy for my depression and suicidal thoughts… I am able to share these with you.. I am healing… one moment at a time..I am not a killer. I am not a murderer. I am not an alcoholic. I did not drive while intoxicated. I was involved in an accident that resulted in death and for that I am very sorry. I have had periods of feeling miserable in the last 12years as a result of this accident. I need to find peace. A Nigerian woman identified as Princess has made some shocking revelations as to how she met her husband of 13years in one of the most bizzare incidences.

Princess, a beautiful mother of one while speaking on Australia’s SBS Dateline revealed that she met her husband when she was a sex slave in Italy.

According to her, in her search for greener pastures, she had been lured to Italy under the false pretense of receiving a well-paid job and better life but was forced to sleep with five to fifteen men daily.

Upon being trapped by smugglers and pimps, forced to repay a crippling debt after fleeing from her home in Nigeria, and ending up living on the streets in Asti, she was forced to perform MouthAction on men for $6 and as little as $19 for intercourse, noting that her hopes of getting freed one day was nearly impossible.


Speaking on her first time on the street, she said;

“It was terrible and dangerous work because most of the time, I met people that were bad people that they will kill us, you know? They kill girls for fun.

The first night was a nightmare and I was so afraid of entering people’s cars, I was crying throughout the night.”

Princess further disclosed that her life took a major turn 18 years ago after she met a client, Alberto, who after their first meeting, started dating her secretly and saving money to settle her debts and free her from slavery and later became her husband

Princess has rescued over 250 girls so far and is now taking on the Nigerian mafia in a bid to help other victims of trafficking.


Speaking also, Princess’ husband, Alberto, disagreed that most of the girls are not aware of what they are coming to do in Europe and insisted that most of them know they are coming to be a prostitute but mistakenly glamorise it.

The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, May 1, 2018, as a public holiday to celebrate the 2018 Workers’ Day.

The Minister of Interior, Lt Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd.), who disclosed this in Abuja on Friday, congratulated Nigerian workers on their loyalty, the strength of character, hard work, sacrifice and dedication to building a greater Nigeria.

The minister in a statement by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Dr. M. Umar, appreciated “the central role workers play in government activities and decisions, and for keeping faith with the present administration in its resolve to build a better Nigeria.
” Dambazau solicited the continuous support of Nigerian workers in government’ s effort to re- position the economy and uphold the shared legacy of all Nigerians. “The minister wishes all Nigerian workers a successful May Day celebration,” the statement said.

Yesterday a young lady allegedly ran mad in one of the popular Owerri streets, Ikenegbu to be precise. It was alleged that some men used her for rituals and dropped her at the street along Kilimanjaro fast food and restaurant.

She was however seen roaming on the streets utterly Unclad, as people were taking pictures and videos of her.

This happened around 9:00pm, nobody was there to help or identify her. She was later but identified bysome members of Salvation Ministries Ikenegbu, Owerri, who came to her aide.

Mr. Chiuba Obinani is among several parents, who have lost millions of naira to thieves parading a particular Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) gallery point at the Ejigbo area of Lagos State.

Like other parents, he had never felt that sending youngsters to ATM gallery to get money was a big deal, until some of the kids started losing the ATM cards to thieves.

Obinani, like other affected parents, described the situation as weird, even alleging the use of spell on their children.

On April 11, when a stranger attempted to collect an ATM card from a 13-year-old boy called Peter, the boy raised the alarm. The stranger was caught and almost lynched.

The stranger, who introduced himself as Mr Echefu Aku, 28, a journalist, formerly working with Silverbird Television, denied being a thief.

Sadly, Aku’s situation worsens after an 11-year-old boy, who had earlier lost his father’s ATM card through similar drama, identified him.

Obinani told our correspondent that he lost a whooping sum of N1.5 million in March through thieves like Aku, who hangs around ATM gallery points, looking for young kids to prey on.

Obinani said: “I’m still in shock over what happened to me last month. I sent my 11-year-old son to withdraw money for me from the ATM.

That wouldn’t be the first time. But last month, someone collected my ATM card from him. The person also collected the N10,000 he had already withdrawn.

My son also disclosed my Personal Identification Number (PIN) to the thief. I’m sure my son was hypnotised. He’s a brilliant boy.”

Obinani said that he was still waiting for his son to return with the N10, 000 when he started receiving several withdrawal alerts. He quickly made a beeline for his bank.

He recollected: “Before I was through with my complaint at the bank, N1.5 million had left my account.

The bankers blamed me for giving my son the ATM card. They said that several people had been coming to complain that someone collected ATM cards from their children and used it to empty their accounts.”

He said that on that fateful day that Aku was caught, he was preparing to leave for his office, when he heard that the man, who specialised in stealing cards from children at ATM points, had been caught.

He said: “I immediately went there with my son; he identified Aku as the person that collected my ATM card from him in March.”

Aku was alleged to have been caught red-handed, attempting to steal an ATM card from Peter.

The incident occurred at the Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB), by Forte Oil Filling Station, Egbe-Ikotun road, Iyana Ejigbo, Lagos State. Aku was alleged to have tried to convince Peter to allow him to change his ATM card with an old one.

When Aku was searched, four ATM cards were found in his pocket. He couldn’t give account on how he got the cards. An angry mob pounced, beating him black and blue. If not for the intervention of GTB security guards, Aku would have been lynched.

Peter explained that while using the ATM dispenser, he was distracted by the suspect, who spoke to him and later collected his father’s ATM card from him. As the suspect ran, Peter screamed, calling for help. The screams of Peter alerted people, who immediately chased Aku.

Peter explained that Aku lighted from a tricycle and approached him at the ATM gallery.

He narrated: “He collected my father’s ATM card from me and gave me an old one, which I rejected. He jumped into the parked tricycle and I shouted for help. People close by were fast enough to catch him.”

The boy said that his father gave him the ATM card to go and withdrew N5000.

The money was meant for his brother, who was about leaving home to write an examination.

Peter’s father, Pastor Austin Obinezie, who rushed to the scene, said that he was holding Morning Prayer Session when he sent Peter to the ATM gallery.

Obinezie said: “I shocked when I received a call that a thief collected my ATM card from my son. I left my church programme and quickly rushed down to see what was going on. I saw people beating the thief.”

Aku told our correspondent that he was innocent of the accusation levelled against him.

Aku further explained: “I lodged at a hotel close to the filling station. This morning, I came to make a withdrawal. I don’t know what the boy was saying.”

Then Aku asked our correspondent: “Are you a journalist? I’m a journalist too; I worked with Silverbird Television in Port Harcourt before coming to Lagos. My friend please assists me.

I’m not a thief! They should go to the hotel and find out if I lodged there or not.”

Mr. Chinedun Nwagbo, one of the people, who invited the police to the scene, said that on September 22, 2017, he lost over N100, 000 in his bank account.

Nwagbo said: “I sent my boy to this particular ATM to get money for me. Some body stopped him and sent him to buy biscuit.

I still don’t understand what really happened, because my boy gave the thief my ATM card. He left to buy the biscuit. When he came back, he couldn’t find the man.

The boy said he didn’t give the stranger my PIN. I don’t know how they got my PIN and withdrew money.”

He said that when the boy got home and narrated his encounter with the stranger, he had immediately dashed to his bank to block his account. Unfortunately, N100, 000 had disappeared.

The organised labour on Thursday in Lagos asked for a new minimum wage of N66,500 for all workers in the country.

The organised labour made the demand at the ‘Public Hearing on National Minimum Wage for Nigerian Workers,’ organised by the Tripartite Committee on the National Minimum Wage for the South-West zone in Alausa, Ikeja.

Presenting the memoranda of the Nigerian Labour Congress, and the Trade Union Congress, Agnes Sessi, the chairman, Political Committee, NLC, Lagos State, said the current wage structure could not sustain any worker.

According to her, the two labour bodies had agreed that there should be an upward review of the minimum wage to meet the current economic realities.

She said, “Based on the current realities, the two labour unions want a new monthly national minimum wage of N66,500, which is approximately the average of the implied minimum wages derived under three approaches.”

“The approaches are: Comparative analysis based on minimum wages in some African countries, an estimate of the monthly minimum cost of providing basic needs to a family of six and two dependants, as well as an analysis based on rising cost of living over time.”

The Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, Lagos branch, aligned with the NLC and TUC in asking for N66,500 new minimum wage.

The spokesperson for the association, Akeem Kazeem, said the upward review of the national minimum wage was long overdue.

In his address, the Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, represented by the state Head of Service, Folasade Adesoye, said there was the need for workers to be reasonably remunerated.

“The issue, however, which I believe is more peculiar to the public sector, is striking a balance between what goes into recurrent expenditure — of which salaries and allowances are a major component — and the ability of government to fulfil its obligations to the larger society.”

He said stakeholders should be flexible in their demands in the overall interest of everyone.

Earlier, the Chairman, Tripartite Committee on the National Minimum Wage and the Governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Col. Samaila Dabai (retd.), said the tripartite committee would still organise more public hearings.

A 100-level student at the Cross River University of Technology, Calabar, Ogolo Eke, has died after a kerosene explosion in her house in the Eight Miles area of Calabar.

The 21-year-old student of the Department of Microbiology was reportedly burnt beyond recognition by the fire, which was suspected to have been  caused by adulterated kerosene.

PUNCH Metro learnt on Thursday that Ogolo was among the 5,500 freshmen that participated in CRUTECH’s matriculation on April 9.

A witness, Mr. Ekere Kelvin, said Ogolo was trying to refill a lantern with kerosene around 7.45pm on Wednesday when the incident occurred.

He said the victim was rushed to a private hospital in Calabar in critical condition, but she could not survive the severe burns.

Kelvin said, “We heard a sound from her room. Before we got there, the smoke had already covered the room. We tried to help her, but her face and chest had been burnt. She died on Thursday. She was badly burnt by the fire.”

A family member, Felix Eke, said Ogolo’s death dealt a big blow to the family.

“We feel very sad and my parents have been devastated. She had been searching for this admission for over four years, but could not get it. She just got this one and matriculated two weeks ago. She died in a mysterious circumstance. We are grieving,” he said.

Meanwhile, it was learnt that there was another kerosene explosion in a house around the Eight Mile area.

A witness, Ignatius Agbama, who also knew about Ogolo’s case, said a teacher was injured in that incident.

“The female teacher is my neighbour.  She was injured in the explosion. That explosion occurred a few hours after Ogolo’s room was gutted by fire. This is the sixth incident this year alone and we have stopped patronising black marketers for kerosene. We now buy directly from the filling stations.

“There is something wrong with the supply system because a lot of people have died. Recently, a mother of three and her two children were burnt to death. The Department of Petroleum Resources need to do something urgently about this ugly trend,” he said.

The state Chairman of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Mr. Lawrence Agim, expressed sadness over incessant kerosene explosions in the state.

Agim, who vowed to ensure that the circulation of adulterated kerosene was checked, explained that many families had been affected by explosions in recent time.

The Lagos State Police Command has launched a manhunt for some website operators who threatened to deal with a PUNCH reporter, Samson Folarin, for his report exposing examination malpractice in the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination.

This followed a petition from our correspondent alleging threats to his life and family which was delivered to the office of the state Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi.

PUNCH Metro had reported about how some pupils sitting the WASSCE being administered by the West African Examination Council cheated by subscribing to answer-peddling websites.

The websites, which boasted of getting questions prior to the time of the exams, advertised various rates for different subjects and urged pupils to subscribe in bulk to get discounts.

Testimonials of candidates who got excellent results after using the services of the operators were displayed on the sites.

Our correspondent had subscribed to five different websites for answers to the Commerce exam which was done on Tuesday.

The websites are examcrown.com, examsort.com, naijaclass.com, waecexpo.com and guruslodge.com.

The operators of the sites demanded that MTN recharge cards be sent to their phone numbers, which are 09069072051, 07063609771, 08167593558, 07032581573 and 08154766482.

They demanded N400 for a link to the answer websites and N800 for direct SMS of the answers to candidates’ phones.

While examcrown and examsort later resorted to Internet bulk SMS, using their codenames, EXAMCROWN and EXAMSORT, to update our correspondent, others used telephone numbers, including 08101038699 and 07068088239.

True to their words, the websites delivered answers to both the objective and theory questions through text messages and their portals.

Shortly after the findings of PUNCH Metro were published on Wednesday, one of the website operators threatened to deal with our correspondent for writing the report.

“Hello dear,

You have done your part. Nice investigation. Now, its (sic) my turn to do my thing. Mind people you step into (sic)… you are in Nigeria, not USA. Expect us. Thank you,” the message, sent by one CRACK MIND, said.

Our correspondent, in the petition addressed to the CP, called for the arrest and prosecution of the suspect and his collaborators.

The petition read in part, “On Wednesday, April 25, 2018, around 1pm, I received a threat text message on my phone from a sender coded as CRACK MIND.

“I believe this message came from a syndicate running websites where answers to the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination are displayed for pupils to copy from.

“Since I don’t know how far they can go to execute their threat, I think it is safe to report it so you can use your good offices to apprehend the suspects and bring them to book.”

The petition was approved by the Commissioner of Police on Thursday, who ordered that it be referred to the Special Investigations Bureau.

Our correspondent was further asked to make a statement at the SIB, as the police promised to get to the roots of the case.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chike Oti, said investigation had commenced into the case.

He noted that it was wrong for anyone to intimidate journalists in the performance of their lawful duties.

“The command has commenced investigation into the case. Our investigation is directed at unravelling those behind the dubious websites with the aim of arresting and prosecuting them.

“The CP has ordered crack detectives and the command’s undercover officers to go after them. They may run, but they can not hide,” he added.

The Defence Headquarters, Abuja, said on Thursday that the fresh rounds of killings in Benue State were being sponsored.

It added that the military would, however, soon apprehend both the killer herdsmen and their sponsors.

The Director, Defence Information, Brig. Gen. John Agim, stated this in an interview with one of our correspondents on Thursday, insisting that the military would not support any side in the violence that had been going on in Benue State.

Recalled that herdsmen, who blocked Gbeji-Anyinn Road in the Logo Local Government Area of Benue State, killed a soldier and a passerby on Monday.

On Tuesday, suspected herdsmen invaded a church in Mbalon in Gwer-East Local Area of the state and killed two Catholic priests and 17 other worshippers.

On Wednesday, there was a report that 22 people were killed when herdsmen attacked Daudu, in the Guma area of the state.

Also, on Thursday, herdsmen invaded Africa Church in Mbamondo clan of Ukemberagya Gaambe-Tiev, in the Logo Local Government Area, and killed seven internally displaced persons.

Since the killings had become a daily affair, The PUNCH asked the Defence spokesman if  troops in Benue State were  overwhelmed and whether the military  would deploy additional troops in the state.

Agim said, “The military is strategising on how to go after the herdsmen and their sponsors. We will get both the herdsmen and their sponsors.

“We want to say this to the killers and their sponsors that the military is coming for them. We are going to get both the killers and their sponsors very soon.

“The military is continuing with all its operations in the areas. Nigerians will soon see a change of approach in our operations.”

The Defence’s spokesman said the military had been recovering guns and other weapons from herdsmen and locals in several areas of Benue and Taraba states, adding that the military would not take sides.

Agim said, “Some of the weapons we recovered were seized from the herdsmen. Others are not from the herdsmen. The Dane guns we seized were not from the herdsmen. The military cannot go into an environment to support any side.

“We seized weapons from everyone who had weapons. Some of the weapons were also obtained during engagements with these criminals.

The PUNCH gathered that the IDPs, who were killed on Thursday morning, took refuge in the African Church in Mbamondo clan of Ukemberagya Gaambe-Tiev.

One of our correspondents gathered that some herdsmen invaded the area and attacked those who slept inside the church.

Seven people were reportedly killed, while several others were injured in the attack.

A community leader and a former Special Assistant to a former governor of  the state, Joseph Anawah, said, “The terrorists arrived at the area about 12.22am and started shooting continuously at refugees, who were sleeping in the church and primary school buildings.

“By the time they left, many buildings had been  burnt down while scores sustained gunshot and machete injuries.”

“The marauders after they killed the people, proceeded to Zaki Biam-Wukari Road, mounted roadblocks and began to collect motorcycles and other valuables from travellers,” Anawah said.

The Chairman of the Logo Local Government Area, Richard Nyajor, confirmed the attack by the herdsmen on the Mbamondo clan.

He said, “The casualties may be high, but we have recovered about seven corpses so far and we are searching for more. These killers have taken over our areas and now we are now living at the mercy of God.

“The Federal Government should intensify efforts and bring these mindless killings to an end.”

Efforts to get the Benue State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, on the telephone proved abortive as the calls rang out.

Amidst growing concerns about the recent killings by suspected Fulani herdsmen in the country, including two Catholic priests and 15 other worshippers in Benue State, the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to resign.

The CBCN urged President Buhari to stop presiding “over the killing fields and mass graveyard” that the country had allegedly become and choose the part of honour by considering “stepping aside to save the nation from total collapse.”

The CBCN made the call in a communique signed by its President, Most Rev. Augustine Akubeze, and Secretary, Most Rev. Camillus Umoh, and made available to The PUNCH on Thursday evening.

The bishops, in the communique titled, “When will this barbarism end?” condemned the increasing attacks by the suspected herdsmen, whom they said had turned the country into a massive graveyard.

They also described the killing of the priests and 15 parishioners in the Gwer East Local Government Area of Benue State on Tuesday as a dastardly act that was “carefully planned.”

The communique read in part, “That our two priests, Fr. Joseph Gor and Fr. Felix Tyolaha, along with their parishioners were waylaid in the course of the celebration of the Holy Mass early in the morning, suggests very clearly that their murder was carefully planned. This wicked act  cannot be said to be a revenge attack (as is often claimed).

“Whom have these priests attacked? Indeed, we have just discovered that on January 3, this year, Fr. Gor tweeted, ‘We are living in fear. The Fulani are still around here in Mbalom (where they (priests) were killed). They refuse to go. They still go grazing around. No weapons to defend ourselves.’

“Their desperate cries for security and help went unheeded by those who should have heard them. They could have fled but, true to their vocation, they remained to continue to serve their God unto death.”

The communique continued, “We are sad. We are angry. We feel totally exposed and most vulnerable. Faced with these dark clouds of fear and anxiety, our people are daily being told by some to defend themselves.

“But defend themselves with what? The Federal Government, whose primary responsibility it is to protect lives, for its part alleges that those who ask the people to defend themselves are inciting them to take the laws into their own hands. But how can the Federal Government stand back while its security agencies deliberately turn a blind eye to the cries and waillings of helpless and harmless citizens who remain sitting ducks in their homes, farms, highway and now, even in sacred places of worship?”

The Catholic bishops lamented that in spite of several calls on the President in the last two years to reconfigure his security apparatus and strategy, “which the President has deliberately placed in the hands of the adherents of only one religion,” and the lack of confidence expressed by the CBCN in the security agencies, the bloodletting and destruction of homes and farmlands had increased “with intensity and brutality.”


They also noted that the rate of insecurity in Nigeria had become an embarrassment in the international community, as the Catholic body found it difficult to continue to give excuses about the continuous killings in the country, where “a nation’s landscape is littered with the bodies of its own citizens.

“We are sad and fear that the clock is ticking. The bomb must be defused quickly before it explodes,” the statement added.

It continued, “Since the President, who appointed the heads of the nation’s  security agencies has refused to caution them even in the face of the chaos and barbarity into which our country has been plunged, we are left with no choice but to conclude that they are acting a script that he approves of. If the President cannot keep our country safe, then he automatically loses the trust of the citizens.

“He should no longer continue to preside over the killing fields and mass graveyard that our country has become. Repeated calls from us and many other Nigerians on the President to take very drastic and urgent steps to reverse this ugly tragedy that threatens the foundation of our collective existence and unity as a nation have fallen on deaf ears.

“It is clear to the nation that he has failed in his primary duty of protecting the lives of the Nigerian citizens. Whether this failure is due to inability to perform or lack of political will, it is time for him to choose the part of honour and consider stepping aside to save the nation from total collapse.”

The bishops further advised Nigerians to be courageous and stand for their fundamental rights to life and security, even as it faulted the recent mop-up exercise by the Nigeria Police, “since those we pay to protect us have failed to do their duty.”

The statement added, “Government should encourage and empower citizens to secure themselves and their environments. This is not the time to disarm people with legally procured weapons of self defence.

“These are not normal times, since those we pay to protect us have failed to do their duty. Nigeria can return to normal times, if we put our heads together with sincerity.”

A woman, Patience Isua, has lost custody of her three-year-old twin boys for allegedly videoing them while making love.

She was said to have sent the video recording to the twins father, Emmanuel Ikanta, who took the clip to the police.

The children were taken from their mother’s 2, Olugbemiga Ladipo, Ado in Ajah, Lagos home, on Tuesday night by Police Commissioner Imohimi Edgal and some officials of the Ministry of Women Affairs.

According to Isua, she recorded and sent the clip to her estranged husband so that he would take her seriously.

She said she usually told him the kids behaved strangely whenever they returned from his place. Their father, she claimed, would hang up on her after saying “and so?”

Isua said Ikanta left her last year, adding that he is co-habiting with a woman, who she alleged is corrupting her kids.

Asked by Edgal who made the video, she said:

“Yes, I took the video myself. He was not around when I sent it to him. My children stay with me and they stay with him as well. He comes to pick the children to wherever he is staying.

“We have been living apart since last year that he took me to a human rights organisation. It was agreed that he should have 12 hours with the kids at weekends but he did not stick to the agreement. Sometimes, he took them with him for many days and when they came back, they usually exhibited strange behaviours.

“I am aware that he lives with an older woman. So, he takes them there and whenever they are there, I get worried because I do not know what my children are going through in the hands of the woman.

“Somebody trained my boys to practice such devilish act. This is an abuse. I do not know who trained them to be like this. Before I saw them and videoed it, I had told their father that whenever they came back from his house they usually complained of pain.

She continued,

“There were signs before it got to this stage. I don’t know where he takes them to and what they are fed. Most times they come back stooling blood or complaining of pains in their anus. I called his attention to it but he didn’t listen. This is what has been killing me silently.

“There was a day they went to school from his house and their auntie (teacher) called me to complain that my children were stooling blood. I told her to report to their father because they came to school from his house. Then I called him the following day to ask if their auntie complained to him and he said ‘yes’. When I asked what they ate, he hung up.

“Another time, one of my sons while pooing, said his anus was paining him. I took him out of the toilet and I saw fresh wounds. Again I called to find out where he usually took the kids, because I did not understand what was happening.

“I told him his children would come back from where he takes them to and they would sit on the chair and start saying mummy, daddy kiss.

“So, when I saw them that day, I had to video and send to him so that he would see the damage he was causing to our kids. He now turned the whole thing around and wants to blame me, whereas, I told him to stop taking my kids where he usually took them.

“I know they picked up the habit where he usually took them to, because in my house, they do not have access to television and they do not go out. I only take them to school and church. I live with my sister, who goes to work and comes back late. So, it is certainly not in my house that they saw such devilish act.”

Asked the action she took after she saw her kids practicing homosexuality, Isua said she took them for deliverance and also told her pastor, who prayed for them.

She said she never went to hospital when they were stooling blood nor did report the matter to the police.

Isua said:

“I also trained them. I told my kids to shout and tell their daddy should anyone try to touch their private parts. I told them to scream ‘Satan!’”

Ikanta denied the allegations, saying she neither told him nor showed him anything until the day she sent the video.

“I was really surprised when she sent me that video. I never imagined such a thing would happen. So, you took your time to video this without you shouting at them to stop and you said you wanted to send it to me?” he queried.

Addressing the couple, Edgal said:

“This is a very serious act and as a mother you see your children and your response was to video it? Now apart from you videoing this what other actions did you take? Who did you report to?

“It is not only the police that are concerned. You can see we have a Child Protection Unit from the Ministry of Youth and Social Development.

“People are concerned. You would agree with me that these children are supposed to be under strict parental care and guidance. From this video, you will agree that it doesn’t show good example of parental care.

“Having discussed it with experts and also officials from the Ministry of Youth and Social Development, we are of the opinion that there is need to find out more as to what is going on regarding the welfare of the children. As such, we are also of the opinion that we cannot entrust these children to your care for now, until we understand exactly what is going on.

“We would entrust the children to the ministry. That is why they are here. They have shelters that are approved by the government and these shelters are purposely built for purposes such as this to ensure that children are protected by the state when the need arises.

“There is going to be a joint investigation between the police gender unit and the ministry. We want to be sure that nobody is abusing these children. We want to know where they picked up this kind of elaborate homosexual act.

“Anyone who sees this would be worried especially because of the tenderness of the children. They are too young.

“We cannot entrust them to any of you. We intend to take this matter to a law court to determine the suitability of both of you for parenthood.”
