The police in Ogun state has rescued a 10-year-old girl, Promise who was allegedly chained by the woman she was living with, Chiamaka Okafor at a house in the Saraki, Adigbe area of Abeokuta, Ogun State.
According to PUNCH, she was chained for two days (Wednesday and Thursday) before she was rescued by the Police at 7PM (Thursday).
Promise told police that her boss (who is her aunt, according to the report), chained her for allegedly stealing N4,000.
According to Abimbola Oyeyemi, the police spokesperson in the state:
We had an information that the girl was chained to a burglarproof window at an uncompleted building at Adigbe area and this led our men to the scene.
The girl told us that it was her aunt who chained her on the allegation that she stole a sum of N4,000. The woman is now on the run, while her husband, who is an accomplice, has been arrested and he is helping us in our investigation.
Oyeyemi said Chiamaka fled the house on sighting the police, leaving behind her four children, including a 6-month old baby.
Omotoyosi Odu, a tenant at the house said:
At a point, when the girl was chained to the window in the kitchen, she was crying out to me that I should please give her food. Other neighbours too heard her cry.
Then the landlords had left home for their shop at Pansheke Market. Later, the girl was moved to the boys’ quarters and chained again. Some of us tried to intervene but she warned us to steer clear, because it was none of our business.
Oyeyemi added that the Commissioner of Police, IIiyasu Ahmed, has ordered a manhunt for the fleeing woman in order to bring her to justice, so as to serve as deterrent to others.
“The matter is under investigation and the police is after Chiamaka Okafor. As soon as we complete the investigation, they will be charged to court,” Oyeyemi added.
Promise has been moved to the welfare home, Stella Obasanjo Children’s Home, Ibara GRA, Abeokuta.

Life is not and can't be all about money. Don't rubbish yourself and your family all because you are in a hurry to make big money. Like I always say, 5 years is all you need to change your life through sincere hardwork. I really pity the families of these guys - Osmane, Ejike and Titus-Igweh.

Three of them were executed yesterday, along with an Indonesian, by firing squad for drug trafficking in the country. Below are more photos, just before they were killed...

May the good Lord have mercy on their souls.

President Muhammadu Buhari in an exclusive interview with The Interview Magazine reveals why he was ousted from power in 1985  by General Ibrahim Babangida (rtd).
Buhari was reacting to a previous statement by Babangida in the December 2015 edition of the same magazine. Babangida said that Buhari’s removal was not because he (Buhari) had planned to remove the then Chief of Intelligence,General Aliyu Gusau (rtd) over a N100,000 fraud.
“I learnt that Aliyu Gusau, who was in charge of intelligence, took import licence from the ministry of commerce which was in charge of supplies and gave it to Alhaji Mai Deribe.
It was worth N100,000, a lot of money at that time. I confronted them and took the case to the Army council in a memo…I wanted Gusau punished,” the magazine quoted President Buhari as saying.
Buhari who was and is known for his anti-corruption war said that after the discovery, he made the move to punish Gusau, adding that if he didn’t take the step, it will create a “North versus South, Muslim versus Christian” problem.
According to him, Babangida did not like the idea, hence he organised some officers to remove him.
“Let him (Babangida) repeat his own story. Ali Gusau is still alive,” President Buhari said.

A beautiful lady stunned residents and passersby of Opebi Road in Ikeja on Thursday night as she, in her right sense, took off her clothes by herself and started walking confidently on the street unclad. Those who saw her could not believe their eyes. See the full photo below...

A source said she is a 'crazy' runs girl who probably made a bet with her friends that she could walk around in the manner to win a certain amount from them.

The man behind the web’s biggest piracy network has been arrested and charged with criminal copyright infringement and money laundering.
According to CNN Money, 30-year-old Ukranian Artem Vaulin, the alleged owner of the world’s largest torrent site Kickass Torrents, was arrested by the United States Government in Poland, where they had requested his extradition.
The Kickass Torrents is a commercial website that enables users to illegally reproduce and distribute hundreds of millions of copyrighted motion pictures, video games, television programs, musical recordings and other electronic media and has being in existence since 2008.
With millions of unique visitors per day, it is now one of the most-used BitTorrent portals online – even bigger than ‘The Pirate Bay’.
Alongside the arrest of the alleged site owner in Poland, a federal court in Chicago has ordered the seizure of Kickass Torrent domain names, in an attempt to close the site down.
In a criminal complaint filed in US District Court in Chicago , Vaulin has been charged with conspiracy to commit criminal copyright infringement, conspiracy to commit money laundering, and two counts of criminal copyright infringement.
The Federal Prosecutor in charge of the case, Zachary T. Fardon said:
“Copyright infringement exacts a large toll, a very human one, on the artists and businesses whose livelihood hinges on their creative inventions.”
Online piracy — essentially copying a digital file and sharing it — sucks revenue out of media publishing companies, which pay fees to the artists who create the work.
The U.S. government will ask the Polish government to extradite Vaulin to the United States, where he will be prosecuted. He’s accused of operating a website that allowed people to share movies, video games, television shows and music worth more than $1 billion.

There have been rumors that he left PDP and re-joined APC, a party of which he was a founding member. He has just released a statement confirming the rumors. Read his statement below
I have finally heeded the calls on me to return to the All Progressives Congress (APC), a party of which I was a founding member. I re-registered as a member of the APC on Thursday through the party’s online portal. After that, the leadership of the party in my Bako ward of Yola South Local Government Area visited me in my Yola residence to welcome me back to their fold.
My decision to return to the APC was triggered by my believe that all politics are local. Almost everyone around me, and with whom we started my political journey believed the time had come for us to make sacrifices and make concessions. That is in addition to the unbelievable love that my friends in the APC have showered on me in the past months. They demonstrated in words and action that they wanted me back home. I also did a deep and long reassessment of the circumstances that warranted my exit from the APC in the first place. I left the APC in 2014 owing to fundamental disagreements with the ways the chapter of the party in my state was run after it fell into some hands. Some colleagues and I tried hard to save the then APC administration from an orchestrated impeachment plot which was unfortunately carried out with active collaboration of some ranking APC members in the state. However, events in the last 15 months have addressed many of the issues and healed some of the wounds. More so, with the genuine and sincere invitations I received since last year to retrace my steps into the party, I decided to return after consulting family and political associates at all levels. I would like to appreciate all those members of the party who privately and publicly prodded me to return to the party. My appreciation also goes to the leadership of our party, from my ward in Bako to the national leadership, for the enthusiasm they showed in having me back. NR
