Lagos State Police Command Now Has A New PRO

Lagos State Police Command now has a new Public Relations Officer? He is ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole.
He was appointed on February 15th 2017. He has assumed duty at the Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja, until his appointment, he served as the Deputy PPRO of Lagos State Police Command. He obtained his academic qualifications with a Bachelors degree in Sociology and a Masters in Criminology (MA).

He has been popular within the Lagos Police Command as a gallant officer who knows his onions. He is also said to have the rudiment of Nigeria Policing, rules which guide it, their operation despite been a Cadet Officer. ASP Olarinde is not just loved by Cadet Officers; he is loved by the junior Police Officers too. This is said to be because of his mien and humility which makes him stand out among his peers. Many Officers believed that having served at various stations and the wealth of knowledge he had gathered could be one of the reasons he was made the new spokesman.

A cadet Officer who combines look with brain. He is from the popular Cole family of Lagos. He is an “Omo-Eko”. He started his secondary school at Lagos State Model College Kankon and later moved to Command Secondary Day School Ikeja. He later proceeded to Covenant University with a BSC in Sociology and MSC in Criminology in University of Kent in United Kingdom. He lived and work in United Kingdom For 3 years after getting his masters degree.

He later performed his compulsory youth service at Abuja and worked briefly for a while before joining Nigeria Police Force many years ago. He once served at Area H Command as Crime Officer. He thereafter served at the Public Complaint Bureau (PCB) Complaint Response Unit (CRU) before he was posted to the office of the PPRO as the deputy before he became the Lagos state Police PRO.

As from now on he will be the new Face of Police in Lagos and he will be working with another equally intelligent young Officer. His Deputy Police Public Relations Officer is ASP Ifeanyi Iheanachor.
