Two Drown During Christmas Party In Oshogbo

The Osun State Police Command has commenced investigation into circumstances surrounding the death of two teenagers, who drowned in the swimming pool of a popular hotel in Osogbo during a Christmas party.

The incident occurred on December 23, when the teenage group from a Christ Apostolic Church in Ile Ife organised a picnic for members as part of activities marking the Christmas celebrations.

Vanguard gathered that the Pastor of the church and his wife were invited by the police, following the disappearance of the leaders of the group that organized the picnic.

The victims are Ayomide Fagbola and Ifeoluwa,
who were said to be about 17 years old.

A source said Ifeoluwa was the first to fall into
the pool and Ayomide, in an attempt to rescue his
friend also drowned.

It was gathered that all effort by members of
the group to rescue the drowned teenagers
proved abortive.
When contacted, the State Police Public Officer
PPRO, Mrs. Folasade Odoro, DSP, confirmed the
incident.

Odoro appealed to the leaders of the group to
come out of hiding and assist the police in the
investigation of the case.
