Former Sunderland Goalkeeper, Marton Fulop Dies At 32

Former Sunderland, West Brom and Ipswich goalkeeper Marton Fulop has died at the age of 32 after a long battle with illness.

Fulop also represented the likes of Sunderland and Manchester City in the Premier League, but had taken time out of the game in 2013 to have a malignant tumour removed from his arm following a spell with Asteras Tripoli in Greece, though was cleared to continue playing.

Tributes have poured in for the goalkeeper, who first moved to England to play for Tottenham in 2004 where he was understudy to Paul Robinson under Martin Jol.

Everyone at West Brom is shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of former goalkeeper Marton Fulop," West Brom posted on Twitter.

Former club Sunderland added: "It's desperately sad when we lose a Sunderland family member but to lose one so young in such circumstances is heart-breaking."

Having made his international debut in 2005, Fulop won 24 caps under four different coaches.
