Handlers Of Guiness Nigeria's Twitter Handle Apologise For Offensive Post

So on Friday, 14th December 2018 after the Vice Presidential debate, a Twitter user  that goes by the name, Johannxs decided to troll the Vice Presidential candidate of the People's Democratic Party, Peter Obi with a tweet on his Twitter account. But this apparently did not go down well with who was managing the official Twitter account of renowned beer brand, Guinness, who in turn posted an insulting tweet in response to what Johannxs posted by telling him to 'shut his dirty mouth up'.

In what can only be seen as an embarrassment to the brand, the media handlers of Guinness Nigeria has issued an official statement apologising for the tweet.

Read their official statement below:

Hello readers, my name is Oduntan Odubanjo, the Commercial Director of Terragon Ltd, managers of @GuinnessNGR Twitter handle.

I hereby apologise without reserve for the offensive tweet earlier sent in error from the Guinness Nigeria Twitter handle to @Johannxs. This message has absolutely nothing to do with Guinness Nigeria and was not sent or authorized by the Company. The offending tweet was sent entirely in error by a team member who will have no further access to the Guinness Nigeria account. Please be assured that appropriate learnings have been taken from this incident and proper internal measures are being taken to address this incident.
