Super Eagles Qualify For The Round Of 16 Of FIFA World Cup

The Super Eagles of Nigeria this evening qualified for the Second Round of the FIFA World Cup in Brazil as group runners up, even though they lost to Argentina by 3 goals to 2.

The game was a highly contested affair, as Argentina took the lead in just four minutes through a rebounded effort by captain, Lionel Messi.

Two minutes later, Ahmed Musa equalised for Nigeria.

Shortly before half time, Argentina took the lead through a superb freekick.

The teams went in for the break, and Nigeria scored the equaliser shortly, as a superb through pass found Ahmed Musa, who finished excellently past the Argentina goalkeeper.

However, shortly after, Argentina regained the lead through a corner kick that found defender, Marcos Rojo, following poor clearance from the Nigerian defence.

Argentina held on for the lead and finish as group winners where they will meet either Switzerland or Ecuador.

Nigeria will square up with France.
