Here is what Jaden Smith, the son of popular actor Will Smith, said about the educational system.
I kind of agree with Jaden in a way. Some people who dropped out of school have gone to become so wealthy and successful in life.
Let's analyse this, one goes to Secondary school, does WAEC, clears all his papers with distinctions. Goes on to the University, graduates with a First Class, does Masters, goes on to do a Ph.D. Probably ends up to be a Professor Emeritus.
How much does the highest earning Professor make yearly? Even a Professor in Havard, Cambridge or Oxford. How much does he want to earn that can compare to people such as maybe Kanye West, or Cristiano Ronaldo or other notable 'drop-outs'.
It just doesn't add up. Though education is necessary, but school makes us believe that we are guaranteed success in life which doesn't always work.
Personally, I remember several students back in my University who dropped out due to one reason or the other have gone to become great dudes in their respective fields, even better than some people who graduated with First Class degrees.
So in a way Jaden Smith is right.
