San Siro Stadium To Host 2016 UEFA Champions League Final

San Siro has been chosen as the host venue of next season's Champions League final, Uefa
has confirmed.

The Stadio Giuseppe Meazza,
home of both AC Milan and Inter, last held the final in 2000-01, when Bayern Munich overcame Valencia on
penalties after a 1-1 draw. In total, the 2016 final will be the fourth to be held at the famous venue. It also played host to the main event in 1965 and 1970.

It comes as a shot in the arm for Italian football, with the country having previously bid for the 2016
European Championships but missed out to France.

Uefa has also announced that Basel's St Jakob Park has been selected to host the Uefa Europa League final for 2015-16. The stadium held six matches at Euro 2008, including Germany's semi-final win over Turkey.

The Europa League final will be held on May 18, 2016, with the Champions League final coming 10 days later.

This season's Champions League and Europa League finals take place in Berlin and Warsaw, respectively.
