The Senate has announced  the death of Senator Uche Chukwumerije in the evening of Sunday in the Turkish Hospital, Abuja. He was aged 76 years old. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.

Chukwumerije served as minister of information in the dying days of the military regime of Ibrahim Babangida.
