Gareth Bale Wins PFA And Young PFA Awards Respectively

Tottenham Hotspur FC of England Forward, Gareth Bale has won the Professional Footballers' Association Player Of The Year award and the Professional Footballers' Association Young Player Of The Year award respectively.

He shrugged off favorites, Robin van Persie of Manchester United FC and Luis Suarez of Liverpool FC to clinch the award.

The Tottenham and Wales Midfielder rounded off a remarkable season by becoming the first player since Cristiano Ronaldo to do the double at the prestigious ceremony which took place on Sunday night at Grosvenor Hotel in Mayfair, London.

The 23 year-old has scored 19 goals in 29 games for Spurs and also had four assists and created 68 chances this season.

Bale said: "It's a massive honour. To be voted by your peers is one of the biggest things in the game. It's great to win it and I am delighted.
"When you look at the list, there are some massive names on it but I couldn't have done it without the team. They have been fantastic this year and so has the manager."

Also the PFA Premier League Team of The Year was selected, and four players of newly-crowned Manchester United made the list which include: David De Gea (Manchester United), Pablo Zabaleta (Manchester City), Jan Vertonghen (Tottenham Hotspur), Rio Ferdinand (Manchester United), Leighton Baines (Everton), Michael Carrick (Manchester United), Juan Mata (Chelsea), Gareth Bale (Tottenham Hotspur), Eden Hazard (Chelsea), Luis Suarez (Liverpool), Robin van Persie (Manchester United).
