According to an eyewitness, Abimaje was stabbed in the stomach by some angry students on his way to pick up his daughter and wife at their supermarket which is located on the school campus.
A police source said the deceased was a disciplinarian who never collected bribe from students.
"On sighting him, the students forgot their quarrel, stopped his car, dragged him out, turned the fight on him, stabbed him repeatedly in the stomach and left him bleeding on the ground," and eyewitness said.
The lecturer, before his untimely death, taught Research Methodology in the school.
