ESUT Sacks 5 Lecturers For Altering Students' Grades

The Governing council of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, ESUT, recently sacked a Senior Lecturer and four other staff for altering students' grades.

This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the Director of Public Relations of the University, Ossy Ugwuoti.

The affected staff are Ibiyemi Ariyo, Senior Lecturer; Dr. Ikechukwu Onah, Lecturer II; Chikezie Aneke, Assistant Lecturer; Nnamdi Okomba, Assistant Lecturer, and Christy Okoro, Computer
Operator, all from the Department of Computer Engineering.



According to the statement, Dr. Onah, who was the Head of the Department, engaged the others in the alteration of the grades submitted to him by lecturers during compilation of the Department's final year result.

The university's governing council, which took the decision to sack the offending members of staff, however gave a severe warning that it would continue to take disciplinary action against any worker involved in any form of academic fraud.
