Marriage Age Pegged At 18 Years By Senate

The Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has pegged the marriageable age in the country to 18 years in the newly ammended constitution. Though it was opposed by Senator Sani Yerima of Zamfara State, who got married to a 12-year-old Egyptian girl, as he described the law as 'anti-Islam'
