The accident was said to have happened along Elele Road in Rivers State.
Reports say the woman, Iwari-Oba was on her way to Bayelsa State when the accident happened and that her corpse has been deposited in the mortuary.
The report mentioned Evans Bipi, who had been in a running battle to secure the speakership of the River State House of Assembly was one of the people who deposited the corpse at the mortuary,
An aide to Bipi reportedly confirmed that the woman died about 4p.m yesterday.
Bipi's aide, Fred Itobo, spoke with the press saying Iwari-Oba was on her way to Bayelsa when the unfortunate incident happened.
"Yes! She was involved in an accident and she died. Her body has been taken to a mortuary. Bipi was among those who took her body to the mortuary," Itobo reportedly said.
