It was a night of football to forget on Wednesday, as FC Bayern Munich of Germany dealt a very terrible blow to the ego and prestige of fellow soccer giant, FC Barcelona of Spain.
The Spanish giants were totally outclassed, completely annihilated and torn apart to shreds by a very ruthless FC Bayern side.
They succumbed to a 3-0 home defeat at their prestigious Nou Camp Stadium in the semi-final stage of the UEFA Champions League.
FC Barcelona had trailed from the First Leg tie played in Germany a week ago, and the same fate befell them, as they were blown away by the German side 4-0.
The Second Leg of the tie was eagerly anticipated, as FC Barcelona had hoped to turn around the tie. But that was not to be as they were totally outclassed in every department on the football pitch.
They lost by an heavy aggregate scoreline of 7-0, the heaviest defeat in the semi-final stage of the competition in 26 years.
In the previous semi-final match played on Tuesday, Real Madrid of Spain were also knocked out of the Champions League by another rampant German side in Borussia Dortmund.
This means we have an all-German final of the UEFA CHAMPIONS League. The first ever in a very long time.
The final match will be played at the Wembley Stadium in London on the 25th of May, 2013.
