The name of the deceased whose country of origin is yet to be ascertained, was identified as Santos Korie. He was driving a Toyota Highlander when the bandit shot him at close range in the early hours of Thursday in Daleko area of Mushin, Lagos State.
It was gathered that the gunmen escaped the scene before policemen from the Area D Command got there.
Spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Ms. Ngozi Braide, who confirmed the incident in a statement said: "Today 11th April 2013 at about 0700 hours, the Area Commander, Area "D" Mushin received a distress call that there was a shooting incident around Daleko Bridge, Mushin. Some policemen were immediately dispatched to the area but on arrival, the gunmen had disappeared.
"On enquiry, eye witness clustering around told men of the Area "D" that the gunmen were in Police uniform and had operated in a commercial bus. The victim, one Mr. Santos Korie driving in a Toyota Highlander died on his way to the hospital.
